2. Are we ready to use microchip implants? : an international crosssectional studyAnja Žnidaršič, Alenka Baggia, Jakub Fischer, Maciej Rostanski, Borut Werber, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background and purpose: Despite their clear relevance to human life, microchip implants are still widely viewed as negative, threatening our privacy and raising growing concerns about our health. This paper aims to investigate the important factors influencing people’s perception of microchip implants and their willingness to use them for different purposes.
Methodology: The cross-sectional study was conducted in three European countries and the data were analysed using the group Structural Equation Modeling approach. Only complete answers to the online survey questionnaire items were used representing a convenience sample of 804 respondents.
Results: The results show that perceived ease of use, usefulness and perceived trust are significant predictors of intention to use microchip implants. Perceived trust is influenced by privacy and technology safety. Concerns about painful procedures and other health concerns reduce the perceived usefulness of microchip implants. Apart from the predictor health concerns, the results were similar in all countries.
Conclusion: Based on the presented results, researchers interested in investigating the actual use of microchip implants can establish a solid foundation for their research. The results may assist policy makers in developing the regulations to ensure the safe use of microchip implants and allow for a higher level of security. As a follow-up, investigation of changes in the acceptance of microchip implants following the threat of a global pandemic is proposed. AI for optimizing analog RF parameters on NFC frontends : magistrsko deloMatej Žnidarič, 2022, magistrsko delo Opis: In this Master’s thesis, we study in detail NFC technology, NFC standardization, Artificial intelligence and GUI topics. Our goal is to optimize the measurement process of the FeliCa listener phase window in order to define the best analog parameters for the NFC IC. Namely, by combining machine learning and test automation, we want to achieve a faster validation time of the NFC IC under test. Firstly, we introduce the main topics related to NFC and present the thesis alongside specific goals. Next, we present the NFC technology on a fewuse cases. We also cover international standards, emphasizing sections that directly affect our validation and, therefore, the understanding of our solution. The NFC coverage is described alongside data representation used to interpret data used in proprietary software. Artificial intelligence is integrated into this software for multidimensional data interpolation task. We also cover the basics of deep neural networks and the most common architectures used in the DL field. The neural network training process is also covered to understand how we can optimize neural network global minimum convergence. In the last part of the thesis, we also explain how proprietary software tool actually works and how it can outperform previous processes. In the end, specific solutions related to the tool are described in more detail to understand our software development decisions better. Finally, we present measurement results and evaluate our goals. 5. Digital marketing communication in developing countries : evidence from the Western BalkansVisar Rrustemi, Ganimete Podvorica, Gezim Jusufi, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Digital marketing has made significant progress in recent years, in all countries, both developed and developing. Many local and international companies have largely placed their marketing activities in the digital environment. Now, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it even more important for many companies and consumers to conduct marketing, buying and selling activities through social media. Like companies, consumers are changing their buying behaviors by focusing more on social media, from which they are providing the necessary and sufficient information about all the products and services that are marketed online. This paper is of particular importance because it addresses the issue of digital marketing activities in the Western Balkans region, specifically the behavior of consumers from countries of this region on social media. From the results of the paper it can be concluded that consumers from these countries are quite engaged in social media, where they receive the necessary information for different products and services, follow the activities of different companies, etc. Ključne besede: digital marketing, communication, social media, Western Balkans, internet Objavljeno v DKUM: 15.01.2021; Ogledov: 639; Prenosov: 0 |
6. Internetni memes kot nova oblika komuniciranja : diplomsko deloAtena Bošnjak, 2020, diplomsko delo Opis: The diploma thesis is theoretical and empirical research on Internet memes as a new form of communication. In the beginning, viral communication and the concept of a meme, which originally comes from genetics, are presented. The thesis presents a new communication model, designed to understand the spread of virus information on social networks, and can also be connected to Internet memes. For a better knowledge of the channels through which memes are spread, some websites that are partly or entirely dedicated to such humorous content are presented in the diploma work. The empirical part consists of the methodology and course of the research and later, the results obtained during the analysis. The thesis includes a causal - non - experimental method by which the research questions are answered. The concluding chapter closes with a presentation on the finding. 8. Perception of cyber crime in SloveniaMaja Dimc, Bojan Dobovšek, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose:
The purpose of this article is to present the results of the pilot research regarding the perception of cybercrime in Slovenia.
Design/Methods/Approach:
The study focused on the research of the perception of cybercrime among the general public, as well as the members of the law enforcement agencies.
Findings:
The development of information and communication technologies critically influences all aspects of our lives, and consequently the characteristics of crime have adapted to the new form of operation in the virtual world. Cybercrime is the new way of breaking the law, and in order to implement successful preventive strategies it is of crucial importance to understand the perception of the general public, as well as the perception of the members of law enforcement agencies regarding cybercrime. The pilot study was performed on a smaller group of individuals (approximately half were the representatives of the general public, while the rest were the representatives of law enforcement agencies) in the form of in-depth interviews. The findings of the pilot research were alarming, since the majority of the interviewees greatly differentiate between certain forms of crime performed in the cyberspace as opposed to the same form of crime performed in real life i.e. the act of stealing, piracy in particular, is unacceptable in the real world and at the same time only natural in the virtual world. Furthermore, the pilot research displayed serious lack of awareness regarding different forms of cybercrime among the general public, as well as the members of law enforcement agencies, and consequently also poor understanding of legislation pertinent to cybercrime. Based on the results of the pilot research it is evident that it is of crucial importance to raise the awareness and understanding among the general public and increase the knowledge of the members of law enforcement agencies regarding cybercrime and its consequences in our everyday life.
Research limitations/implications:
The results are not generalizable due to the small group of interviewees. Consequently, future research will include a larger group of interviewees and will combine both in-depth interviews as well as questionnaires.
Practical implications:
The article represents a useful source of information for individuals working in this field as well as the general public. Furthermore, it represents the basis for further research of the field.
Originality/Value:
The article deals with the issue of the perception of cybercrime in Slovenia and exposes the critical issues related to the difference in the perception of a similar act of crime in the real life as opposed to the virtual world. Ključne besede: computer-related crime, cybercrime, information and communication technologies, Slovenia Objavljeno v DKUM: 12.05.2020; Ogledov: 1013; Prenosov: 51
