AVTOMATIZACIJA IN MODELIRANJE POSLOVNIH PROCESOV Z ORODJI PROIZVAJALCEV EMC IN IBM

Development and validation of business process reengineering (BPR) variables: a survey research in Slovenian companies
Nataša Vujica-Herzog, Andrej Polajnar, Stefano Tonchia, 2007, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Business Process Reengineering (BPR) literature is based primarily on case studies and there is a lack of rigorous wide-ranging empirical research covering all its aspects. This paper presents the results of a survey researchcarried out in 73 medium and large-sized Slovenian manufacturing companies. Seven crucial areas were identified based on a synthesis of BPR literature, which must be practised to achieve effective process reengineering: management commitment, education & training, team work, BPR project characteristics, employee cooperation, information technology support, and levers & results. Variables have been constructed within these areas, using Likert scales, and statistical validity and reliability analyses. These developed variables can be important both for understanding BPRand in terms of the descriptive statistics, also reported in this paper. What emerges is the crucial importance of process orientation, goal setting, and top management commitment. Furthermore, these variables can be helpful forfurther research aimed at investigating BPR and its linkages with other areas, such as strategy, performance measurement, etc.

Feasibility and rationale of introducing layers into business process models
Gregor Polančič, Gregor Jošt, Jari Soini, 2011, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is the leader and de-facto standard in business process modeling, a sub-discipline of business process management. While BPMN's objectives are to be expressive, widely understood, interchangeable and executable, it has also became rich and complex. The objective of this article is to present an idea of lowering the complexity of BPMN by applying layers into BPMN based process models. As presented in the article, layers are the remaining complexity management approach, which has not been implemented in BPMN yet. The focal part of the article is a SWOT analysis of applying layers into business process models, as well as the future work and challenges which need to be solved in order to reach our research goal - increasing the objective and subjective understandability of BPMN based process models.

Some of the main factors of innovative renewal of companies' operations
Igor Hustič, Matjaž Mulej, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Problems cannot be solved by the mentality that has caused them, such as neglecting the non-technological innovation. Often, innovative renewal of companies' operations is urgently needed. Overcoming the consequences of the global economic and financial crisis cannot be successful without innovation of the values, culture, business ethics and norms of all their important stakeholders. We suggest a new synergy of methods aimed at renewal of business processes in an innovative way by using the dialectical systems theory approach. We combine BSC, ISO 9000, the method 'learning company' and USOMID. Literature so far has not made it clear that those approaches can complement each other and jointly contribute to renewal of business operations according to the requirement of the requisite holism.

Environmental management of business processes
Vesna Čančer, 2000, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Since the decision-makers in enterprises will accept the goals of environmental management only if they are motivated enough, comprehensible and useful tools should be generated to support environmentally oriented business decision- making. For that reason, a general optimisation model of the multiphase business process is presented in this paper. This model includes the possibilities for an integrated approach to environmental protection so that it can be applied as a scenario by the business process simulation for the evaluation of environmentally oriented business decisions on business performance. Furthermore, development and application possibilities of the presented model are introduced. Some measures of resource efficiency are developed using the presented optimisation model.

Product lifecycle management through innovative and competitive business environment
Valentina Gečevska, Paolo Chiabert, Zoran Anišić, Franco Lombardi, Franc Čuš, 2010, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of managing the whole life cycle of a product starting from generating an idea, concept description, business analyzes, product design and solution architecture and technical implementation, to the successful entrance to the market, service, maintenance and product improvement. At present, a wide range of stakeholders including consumers, regulators, shareholders and public bodies are demanding that companies address product management through all life cycle in a more comprehensive and sustainable way. However, even if a company actually wishes innovate its processes for improving the way to account for project management, it will face relevant difficulties to deal with different guidelines, tools and methods currently addressing the matter from various points of view. The purpose of this paper is to review literature on PLM from an operational point of view with the objective to help companies to answer to the main market needs.

Does grade level matter for the assesment of business process management maturity?
Renata Gabryelczyk, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The purpose of this paper is to create and test the practical application of a business process management maturity assessment conducted at two different grade levels (management and professional level) in an organization. The conceptual framework for this research includes creating a business process maturity indicator (BPMI) for six process areas: strategy, documentation, optimization, implementation, execution, and controlling. The comparative analysis of the business process management maturity is performed using the BPMI on two cases: inside a single organization and the sector internally.

Application of fuzzy AHP approach to selection of organizational structure with consideration to contextual dimensions
Alireza Aslani, Feryal Aslani, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The literature of organizational structure design is relatively rich along with conceptual and complex patterns. This complexity arising from the number of elements and numerous relations in addition to the nature of variables. Thereby, the lack of operational decision-making models is felt to propose adequate structural designs in practice. In this article, the researchers employ a fuzzy multi attribute decision making model (FMADM) to select the most suitable organizational structure based on expert’s judgments and by deploying contextual dimensions of the organization. Since the organizational changes especially in the structural levels are along with resistances among involved staffs, the implementation of this model is a supportive tool in addition to help the managers to make a qualified decision and change.

The perspective of business process outsourcing in Slovenian organizations
Franc Brcar, 2011, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Business process management (BPM) and business process outsourcing (BPO) play an important role in organizations helping them ensure competitiveness and competitive advantages and increase efficiency and effectiveness. Our study analyzes the role of outsourcing in Slovenian organizations. Data was obtained through a survey and interpreted with descriptive statistics, frequency statistics and Wilcoxon's signed ranks test. According to the results of statistical analysis there is 95% reliability that the degree of outsourcing of business processes in Slovenian organizations will increase and this applies to most business processes. Thus we can conclude that Slovenian organizations are following the trends in global markets and are adjusting to them as well.
