2. Slovenian EFL-students' familiarity with the English sentence structure and their ability to identify its element : master's thesisJan Dukarič, 2025, magistrsko delo Opis: This master’s thesis explores the expanding discrepancy and subsequent outcomes between prevailing pedagogical approaches and the realities of conventional assessment practices, where a fundamental understanding of a syntactic organisation is a prerequisite for engagement. Thus, the thesis aims to examine Slovene EFL primary school students’ familiarity with the English sentence structure and its elements guided by the assumptions addressing the syntactic influence of students’ L1, their limited syntactic competence, and their explicit awareness of English sentence structure and its constituent parts. Adopting a mixed methods research design and grounded in a comprehensive theoretical framework, the empirical study involved of 75 participants aged between 11 and 14 years (±1 year), which were in turn tasked with completing a grammar awareness task, language function task, word order task, and a sentence structure in translation task. The findings ultimately indicate students’ shortcomings in the identification of core sentence elements, the emergence of explicit syntactic knowledge, and a salient reliance on Slovene syntactic frameworks. 3. Do consumer packaging preferences affect the choice of perishable products? A case study of mangoes in India : Študija primera manga v IndijiNupur Chakraborty, 2025, magistrsko delo Opis: With the spotlight on mangoes in India, this study investigates how customer packaging preferences affect the choice of perishable goods. Mangoes are a popular but highly perishable fruit, so proper packaging plays a key role in keeping them fresh and appealing. A structured questionnaire was administered to 100 participants, gathering data on socio-demographics, shopping behaviours, and perceptions of various mango packaging types. The study employed non-parametric statistical methods to evaluate differences and correlations across key variables. The findings indicate that, when taking environmental impact into account, packaging type has a considerable impact on consumer decisions, even though intrinsic fruit qualities like taste and smell are still crucial. Compared to single-use plastics, biodegradable and reusable packaging solutions are significantly more popular. Customers who are more environmentally conscious and have an intolerance to food waste are also more likely to opt for sustainable packaging, as per our results. The study concludes that packaging not only serves a functional role but also acts as a significant determinant of consumer choice, particularly when aligned with environmental values. These insights can inform sustainable packaging strategies in the agri-logistics and food retail sectors in India Ključne besede: Sustainable packaging, Consumer preferences, Environmental awareness, Sociodemographic factors, Purchasing behaviour Objavljeno v DKUM: 09.09.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 20

5. Aligning business solutions and business requirements for digital transformation – case research : V.Uroš Zabukovšek, Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, Samo Bobek, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: This study explores how Business and IT Alignment (BITA) influences business performance (PERFO) and corporate sustainability (SPACS) using a mixed-methods case study of an international manufacturing enterprise. The quantitative analysis (PLS-SEM) indicated BITA affects PERFO indirectly through IT service quality (ITSQ), while remote work (EWORK), despite its relation to BITA, showed no significant impact. BITA strongly predicted SPACS by enhancing employees’ sustainability knowledge, confidence, and willingness to act. Qualitative findings from semi-structured interviews revealed a BITA maturity of 3.3 (on a 5-point scale), highlighting its role in sustainability via better decision-making, process optimization, and IT-enabled transparency. Notable discrepancies between managerial and employee perceptions of BITA maturity were identified. Results suggest successful BITA fosters sustainability-oriented behaviour and IT-driven performance improvements, though continuous reinforcement within organizations is required. The study emphasizes the value of integrating qualitative and quantitative methods for comprehensive insights into BITA's impact. 9. Gamified learning for sustainability : an innovative approach to enhance hydrogen literacy and environmental awareness through simulation-based educationUroš Kramar, Matjaž Knez, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The transition to sustainable energy systems presents a critical challenge for the 21st century, necessitating both technological advancements and transformative educational strategies to foster awareness and knowledge. Hydrogen technologies are pivotal for decarbonization, yet public understanding and acceptance remain limited. This study introduces and evaluates a novel gamified educational framework, uniquely integrating simulationbased learning, collaborative problem-solving, and adaptive instructional scaffolding to enhance hydrogen literacy and sustainability awareness. Unlike traditional pedagogical approaches, this method actively engages learners in real-world decision-making scenarios, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications. This study involved adolescents aged 13–15 from two distinct educational and cultural contexts, one in Europe and one in the Middle East. A pre–post study design assessed knowledge acquisition, gamification engagement, and environmental awareness shifts. Findings reveal statistically significant improvements in technical knowledge and strong positive perceptions of gamified learning as an effective sustainability education tool across both cultural groups (Europe and the Middle East). Variations in engagement across cultural contexts suggest the need for adaptive, context-sensitive educational frameworks. While the findings indicate significant short-term knowledge gains, this study does not assess long-term knowledge retention, which remains an important area for future research. This research contributes to sustainability education by demonstrating how strategically designed gamification can foster behavioral engagement, enhance environmental literacy, and support the global energy transition agenda. This study offers a pioneering perspective on integrating interactive learning methodologies to cultivate sustainability competencies among younger generations. 10. Are tomato farmers willing to adopt the hydroponics farming system in Oyo State, Nigeria?Abimbola Adepoju, Oluwaseun Adekunle, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The rising demand for tomatoes and tomato-based foods in Nigeria owing to its numerous health benefits calls for a comprehensive and economically viable farming system to replace or complement traditional farming systems for tomato production. This study therefore assessed the level of awareness of tomato farmers and their readiness to adopt the hydroponics farming system. The sociodemographic determinants of their readiness to adopt hydroponic farming were also identified. Measures of central tendency and the logistic regression model were employed in the analysis of data. Knowledge of hydroponic farming was low among the farmers. Key positive determinants of awareness include distance to market, having government
support and access to social media. More than three-fifths of the farmers were willing to adopt the hydroponics farming system. Such farmers had tertiary education, access to extension agents and relatively small farm sizes. High initial capital for adoption was the most critical limitation to the readiness of adoption of the system. Enhanced tomato output from this system may be a cause for its advocacy. Awareness and adoption of hydroponic farming can be increased if extension services are intensified. This will ensure food security and sustainable economic development.
