1. Intelligent support for defining aesthetical, ergonomical and material properties of designed productJasmin Kaljun, 2014, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The presented paper gives an insight into a prototype of intelligent advisory system based on the aesthetic and ergonomic factors regarding product design, with emphasis on appurtenant design recommendations. The paper focuses on methodology of determining appropriate combination of ergonomic and aesthetic design actions during product design to achieve pleasant user experience. Along with products' function, ergonomics and aesthetics certainly belong to the most important design factors that affect user experience. In the field of ergonomics not only anthropometrical characteristics of prospective user are important. It is also of significant importance to select appropriate material for contact areas in order to assure comfortable and injury free use. Presented theoretical findings are supported with case study of hand tool handle design using intelligent advisory system Oscar. 2. ETHICAL ISSUESA AND AESTHETIC CONTEXT IN CORMAC MCCARTHY`S: THE ROADVid Hudrap, Božidar Kante, 2016, diplomsko delo Opis: The graduation thesis titled ETHICAL ISSUES AND AESTHETIC CONTEXT IN CORMAC MCCARTHY'S: THE ROAD discusses the novel The Road written by Cormac McCarthy from an ethical and aesthetical perspective. It covers issues of morality, its origins and how it is transmitted to the next generation in a world where society and its accomplishments were wiped out by a catastrophe of epic proportions. Here it examines the transmission of values from the father to the son who only knows society after the catastrophe – a society consisting only of father and son and the hostile environment they are subjected to. It follows the journey of a father and son who wander the desolate landscape in search of food and shelter and it deals with the ethical issues they encounter in their path ridden with cannibalistic bands, lone thieves and other individuals. The thesis examines the choices of the protagonists in dealing with other people, ethical conflicts which arise in these situations and between the protagonists themselves, as well as their quest to maintain their humanity. In doing so, it examines the metaphor of fire, the way people make moral decisions, our perception of moral goals and lines – the limits we set ourselves in how we deal with other people. It also touches on the basic concept of cooperation, how it evolved and its benefits for creating and maintaining a complex human society. 3. Aesthetics and creativity in e-learning materialMatjaž Duh, Marjan Krašna, 2011, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: We do know that new learning material must be interactive and actively involve students in the learning process. The idea is generally good but the implementation sometimes falls behind. During the analysis of e-learning materials that are publicly available, we discovered some noticeable and subtle flaws in the materials. The contemporary design paradigm of e-learning materials requires products that are didactically useful and aesthetically appropriate. The quality assured development of e-learning materials should be a part of education in all pedagogical studies. Students who study special didactical disciplines should acquire a critical view of the application of e-learning materials through their own prepared presentations. This article presents a discussion on the aesthetic conditions for designing of e-learning materials. The fundamental parameters for the assessment of aesthetically suitable e-learning materials will be reviewed as well as options for involving students in the learning process. 4. Intelligent support to specific design aspectsUrška Sancin, Jasmin Kaljun, Bojan Dolšak, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Due to increased rivalry on the market, some specific design aspects like the use of modern plastics materials, ergonomics and aesthetics are becoming more important and are not kept in the background any more in correlation with functionality and economic aspect of the product. Design engineer faces many dilemmas while designing new products as a single person is not able to possess a wide spectrum of knowledge needed for optimal design solutions. At this point designer have to rely on his or her experience and on the knowledge of the expert team involved in the project. The fundamental purpose of the research presented in this paper is to make the product development process less experience dependent. The main goal of thematically oriented research is to develop intelligent advisory system with integrated modules forsome specific design aspects.
