1. An integrated PLS-SEM-TOPSIS-Sort approach for assessing ERP solutions acceptance across various industriesAleksandra Radić, Samo Bobek, Sanela Arsić, Đorđe Nikolić, Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In the context of accelerated digitalization, enterprises are increasingly adopting information-driven solutions to support managerial decision-making, with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems playing a crucial role in organizational development. Despite its importance, ERP adoption varies significantly across industries, particularly between developed and developing economies, where technological and structural differences persist. This paper proposes and validates a classification framework for assessing industry readiness for ERP adoption, based on an integrated PLS-SEM-MCDA methodological approach. PLS-SEM identified statistically significant factors and transformed them into weights to compare ERP user attitudes across eleven industries in Serbia and Slovenia. In addition, the TOPSIS-Sort method classified industries into high, moderate, and low readiness as predefined order classes. Finally, sensitivity analysis and comparative analysis are performed with AHP expert weights and the PROMETHEE-FlowSort method to determine the robustness of the PLS-SEM-TOPSIS-Sort results. The results show that the IT industry is the most consistent in adopting ERP systems. In contrast, other industries exhibit varying levels of readiness, depending on their degree of digital maturity and organizational preparedness. The proposed framework’s methodological flexibility allows it to be adapted to various contexts, making it suitable for future academic research and comparative studies. Additionally, the practical implications of the research are twofold. For ERP suppliers, the findings provide guidance on how to approach market segmentation and strategic positioning tailored to the specific needs of individual industries. For ERP users, their success in ERP adoption can be amplified by using the research insights as a benchmarking model. 3. Perception of document management systems in digital transformation : VIII.Sandra Jordan, Samo Bobek, Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: Document Management Systems (DMS) are essential tools for managing organisational information throughout its lifecycle. Despite increasing adoption, many DMS implementations fail to deliver the expected value due to inadequate attention to Critical Success Factors (CSFs). This monograph investigates the impact of selected CSFs—such as top management support, process orientation, and organisational culture—on different phases of the DMS lifecycle: selection, implementation, and usage. Drawing on the ITIL framework and lifecycle-based thinking, the study employs a quantitative methodology using PLS-SEM on data collected from Slovenian organisations. The results show that CSFs vary in importance across lifecycle stages, highlighting the need for dynamic, phase-specific implementation strategies. The findings contribute to theory by integrating CSFs with DMS lifecycle management and provide actionable insights for practitioners seeking to optimise DMS adoption and performance. 4. Aligning business solutions and business requirements for digital transformation – case research : V.Uroš Zabukovšek, Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, Samo Bobek, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: This study explores how Business and IT Alignment (BITA) influences business performance (PERFO) and corporate sustainability (SPACS) using a mixed-methods case study of an international manufacturing enterprise. The quantitative analysis (PLS-SEM) indicated BITA affects PERFO indirectly through IT service quality (ITSQ), while remote work (EWORK), despite its relation to BITA, showed no significant impact. BITA strongly predicted SPACS by enhancing employees’ sustainability knowledge, confidence, and willingness to act. Qualitative findings from semi-structured interviews revealed a BITA maturity of 3.3 (on a 5-point scale), highlighting its role in sustainability via better decision-making, process optimization, and IT-enabled transparency. Notable discrepancies between managerial and employee perceptions of BITA maturity were identified. Results suggest successful BITA fosters sustainability-oriented behaviour and IT-driven performance improvements, though continuous reinforcement within organizations is required. The study emphasizes the value of integrating qualitative and quantitative methods for comprehensive insights into BITA's impact. 6. Enhancing sustainability of e-learning with adoption of m-learning in business studiesSilvia Parusheva, Irena Šišovska Klančnik, Samo Bobek, Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The rapid development of information technologies has significantly transformed education, making digital tools and e-learning platforms essential for modern learning processes. This research study examines mobile learning (m-learning) adoption among higher education students, emphasising the importance of user acceptance for implementing mobile technologies in education. Using a research model based on the UTAUT framework and analysed via PLS–SEM, the research study investigates business students’ behavioural intention to adopt m-learning platforms (in our case, Microsoft Teams), offering valuable insights into their efficacy and long-term viability, explicitly focusing on the use of mobile devices and the mobile version of the Microsoft Teams application for educational purposes. The study’s findings indicate that all four examined factors significantly influence students’ behavioural intention to adopt m-learning applications, with “performance expectancy” having the most substantial impact. The survey highlights the sustained importance of m-learning even after the pandemic. These results reinforce that students’ expectations of improved performance play a crucial role in adopting mobile apps for m-learning. The findings also suggest that increasing adoption rates requires improving system usability, minimising reliance on external support through intuitive design and training, and leveraging peer influence to enhance engagement in m-learning environments. 8. Spatial exploration of economic data-insight into attitudes of students towards interdisciplinary knowledgeSimona Sternad Zabukovšek, Polona Tominc, Samo Bobek, Tjaša Štrukelj, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper uses the technology acceptance model (TAM) framework for the research of economic and geography students’ attitudes towards interdisciplinary knowledge. Based on the SmartPLS Structural equation modelling SEM variance-based method, research results were gained through analysis of survey data of economic and geography students. They participated in the Spationomy project in the period of 2017–2019. Online questionnaires were fulfilled before and after students’ participation in the project and their future behavioural intention to use interdisciplinary knowledge was analysed. Based on the research, we can confirm that the Spationomy project has achieved its purpose, as both groups of students (economic and geography students) have acquired interdisciplinary knowledge and students intend to use it also in the future. Therefore, we can argue that the students included in the project in practice gained recognition of systems thinking about the importance of mutual interdisciplinary cooperation towards achieving synergies. The results also show that TAM can be successfully implemented to analyse how students of economics and geography accept the use of interdisciplinary knowledge in the learning process, which is an important implication for management and education as well as from the theoretical implications viewpoint. While effective analysis using TAM has been used successfully and relatively frequently in economics and business field, we have not found relevant examples of its implementation in the broader field of geography. However, the acceptance of geographic information system (GIS) or other information technologies/information software (IT/IS) tool-based approaches of analysis in the geography field may be of most importance. Therefore, also, this represents an important implication for the research area. 10. Enhancing PLS-SEM-Enabled research with ANN and IPMA : research study of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems’ acceptance based on the technology acceptance model (TAM)Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, Samo Bobek, Uroš Zabukovšek, Zoran Kalinić, Polona Tominc, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: PLS-SEM has been used recently more and more often in studies researching critical factors influencing the acceptance and use of information systems, especially when the technology acceptance model (TAM) is implemented. TAM has proved to be the most promising model for researching different viewpoints regarding information technologies, tools/applications, and the acceptance and use of information systems by the employees who act as the end-users in companies. However, the use of advanced PLS-SEM techniques for testing the extended TAM research models for the acceptance of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is scarce. The present research aims to fill this gap and aims to show how PLS-SEM results can be enhanced by advanced techniques: artificial neural network analysis (ANN) and Importance–Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA). ANN was used in this research study to overcome the limitations of PLS-SEM regarding the linear relationships in the model. IPMA was used in evaluating the importance and performance of factors/drivers in the SEM. From the methodological point of view, results show that the research approach with ANN artificial intelligence complements the results of PLS-SEM while allowing the capture of nonlinear relationships between the variables of the model and the determination of the relative importance of each factor studied. On other hand, IPMA enables the identification of factors with relatively low performance but relatively high importance in shaping dependent variables.
