Slow tourism in the post-Covid era : the case of Montenegro
Ivona Jovanović, Jasna Potočnik Topler, 2022, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: This chapter explores slow tourism as a sustainable tourism concept with the potential for slow tourism offers in Montenegro. Namely, the post-Covid tourist faces an accelerated pace of life and often a stressful daily routine. They need relaxation and a vacation that cannot be found in the tourist offers containing lots of sightseeing tours in as short a time as possible. Accordingly, a new concept of travel has been developing in recent years, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic, one which promotes relaxation and "deep" exploration of the tourist destination - slow tourism. The slow tourist is usually not attracted to the established routes and ready tourist products. Instead, the focus is placed on traveling to the destination, using slow means of transportation, as well as on avoiding large hotels. Slow tourists are trying to get to know the local culture and establish contacts with the locals. Montenegro enables all that.

The contribution of first teachers of French at Petrović’s court to the transformation of society and the affirmation of Montenegro in Europe
Ivona Jovanović, Jasna Potočnik Topler, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper explores the role and contribution of the first foreign teachers of French in Montenegro, to their students/rulers – last three sovereigns of the Petrović-Njegoš dynasty, to Montenegrin society as a whole and to the affirmation of Montenegro in Europe. The paper chronologically relates to the period of rule of Petar II Petrović- Njegoš, Danilo I and Nikola I, to whom the aforementioned Romance language instructors did not transfer merely a knowledge of language, but also much other substance formed from different views and perspectives on the world, thus contributing to the emancipation of Montenegrin society. Through their efforts to modernise Montenegro and strengthen its sovereignty, as well as their publications and political engagement during events critical to Montenegrin history, they contributed to its reputation and popularisation throughout Europe. The research is based on facts found by studying archive and library materials, and on analysis of periodical publications, travel writings, and documents of a memoir/autobiographical character, which significantly contributes to the originality of the article, where the conclusions of the new analysis are presented and represent a significant contribution to the findings published so far

The role of humour in tourism discourse : the case of Montenegro
Jasna Potočnik Topler, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper focuses on the role of humour as a persuasive tool of tourism destinations’ communication and as a means of creating the destination’s image and uniqueness in tourism discourse. According to Aristotle’s appeals, humour belongs to pathos, which is – besides ethos and logos – an essential means of persuasion in successful communication. In the introductory part, the paper offers a short theoretical insight into the functions of tourism discourse and the role of humour in it, further on examples of online promotional texts about Montenegro are analysed and discussed using discourse analysis. The findings confirm that successful promotion can only occur through the efficient use of tourism discourse which addresses the needs of potential tourists and that humorous texts about destinations are appealing to readers. Based on the analysis, it can be established that branding of tourism destinations, products and services with elements of humour may be outstanding in positive ways, and consequently employed in promotional texts as a successful means of communication.

Psychiatric clinic in Podgorica
Jovana Vuletić, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: The theme of this master’s project is research on the significance and influence of the architecture of psychiatric facilities on the process of treatment of people with mental disorders. The capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, has been struggling with a lack of adequate facilities for its Psychiatric Clinic, which has not had the capacity to hospitalise, or provide treatment and rehabilitation services to mentally ill persons for years. With the aim of gaining an understanding of the best practices that could be transferred to the new Psychiatric Clinic, this paper delves into the historic development of psychiatry, treatment and types of hospitals, as well as the position of patients in the society. The great revolution or milestone in psychiatry, the deinstitutionalisation process, caused the closing-down of many psychiatric clinics around the world. Mental health centres that do not force long-term hospitalisation on patients, but offer a wide range of therapeutic, rehabilitation and recreational activities, started to emerge as an alternative. The main goal of this project is to create a clinic in Podgorica that would use a modern architectural language and concept to break environmental prejudices, while providing patients with all the necessary contents for a pleasant and safe stay. The project aims to create a clinic that would respect the function and dynamics of the site, while maintaining its own irreplaceability and uniqueness within that environment.

Dragana Pantović, 2018, magistrsko delo

Opis: In order to support international cooperation and multicultural relations, and at the same time to establish a presence of India in Montenegro, this Master Theses aims to explore the architecture of first Indian embassy in Montenegro's capital Podgorica. Located on Morača riverfront, the new building must follow the guidelines of surrounding architecture, existing landscape and planning principles of Indian architecture, creating a unique and new identity. The new design intends to incorporate Vastu Shastra principles, aiming transparency, fluid space, and modern design while making sure it meets safety and security standards. A simple form would combine embassy, consulate, and residence under one roof, wrapped in white envelope additionally providing light, shade, and privacy. Located on the riverfront, the building should not disturb the land or go in height, but it should follow the slope and recognise surrounding landmarks such as hill Ljubović, park Petrović, sports centre Morača, and old town across the river.

Possibilities of logistics partner cooperation between the seaports of Bar and Koper
Mimo Drašković, Veselin Drašković, 2016, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: The scientific problem and the subject of research consists of the explanation and analysis of possibilities of regional logistics partner cooperation between Slovenian seaport of Koper and Montenegrin seaport of Bar. This paper elaborates an original idea to attract Chinese investors, shippers, logistics providers, bankers and other business entities in order to expand the port of Bar, modernize its infrastructure, increase the depth of its draft for receiving the largest ships and the creation of intermodal logistics and distribution centers in the closer and wider hinterland . This would allow huge amounts of Chinese goods to be partly shipped to the closer and wider region whereas the rest would be shipped through the port of Koper to Europe. Its hypothesis is that the creation of integrated logistics supply chain would attract a significant portion of China's import of goods to Europe and increase the competitiveness and advantages of the ports of Bar and Koper, through economy of scale, increase of quality of logistics service, reduction of total logistics costs and achievement of higher added value of all port and logistics services in these seaports.

Examining determinants of leadership style among Montenegrin managers
Anđelko Lojpur, Ana Aleksić, Sanja Vlahović, Mirjana Pejić Bach, Sanja Peković, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: As a leader’s behavior can have a strong impact on different employee work- related outcomes, various approaches have been put forth in an effort to determine the most effective form of leadership and determinants of individuals’ choice of leadership style. This paper analyzed whether one’s choice of leadership style is due more to personal or organizational characteristics. We used survey data to investigate the determinants of leadership style among Montenegrin managers. Our analysis showed that, although demographic characteristics such as gender, age, and education do not influence the choice of leadership style, internal organizational characteristics such as hierarchical level, managerial orientation to tasks/people, and decision-making characteristics such as decision- making style and decision-making environment are positively associated with the choice of democratic leadership style. This contributes to recent research in leadership that shows how some personal characteristics are considered to be less important in developing certain styles and that the choice of style is more dependent and contingent on external influences and situations.
