Overview of social entrepreneurship development in Slovenia
Barbara Bradač Hojnik, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The aim of the article is to analyze public policies of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia and their developmental phases, the characteristics of social economy organizations, and to assess the framework conditions for social entrepreneurship by social enterprises. Since social entrepreneurship follows mainly social objectives, it needs the support of the ecosystem to develop properly. The EU allows the Member States to regulate social entrepreneurship itself, so Slovenia has formalized the social entrepreneurship domain through national-level legislation. In the article, a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods is applied, using primary data on social enterprises and a case study approach. The results of the analysis of social economy organizations in Slovenia indicate that the formal status of social enterprises covers a wide range of organizations and their share is low in the national context. The analysis of the case study organizations indicates that the legislation is considered as the main factor hindering the development of social entrepreneurship. Moreover, their assessment of public policies is rather judgmental and disapproving. In general, the results reveal that although the area of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia is developing, a vision and long-term strategy is still lacking and the implementation of supportive environment incentives is insufficient.

The impact of primary schools’ inclusiveness on the inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder
Mateja Šilc, Miran Lavrič, Majda Schmidt, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The inclusion of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex issue for schools. This study investigates the impact of the inclusivity of Slovenian primary schools on the inclusion of their students with ASD. We postulated that each pedagogical dimension of inclusion (i.e., academic, social, and emotional inclusion) of students with ASD would demonstrate a positive correlation with each dimension of inclusiveness of primary schools (i.e., inclusive culture, policy, and practice). Forty regular Slovenian elementary schools participated in the research. The Perceptions of Inclusion Questionnaire was completed by 200 respondents (40 students with ASD, 40 parents, 120 teachers), and the Index for inclusion by 240 respondents (40 parents, 200 school professionals). The analysis revealed one significant correlation, a weak positive correlation between inclusive practice and academic inclusion. Multiple regression analyses also identified one conditionally substantial pair. When we excluded the inclusive culture and policy and only considered the control of demographic variables, the results showed that the increase in inclusive practices corresponds to the increase in academic inclusion. The absence of correlations between the dimensions of school inclusivity and the pedagogical dimensions of including students with ASD can be attributed to the lack of systemic solutions for accommodating a diverse student population and the failure to conduct a thorough analysis of the inclusion and implementation of whole-school approaches. However, the Slovenian adaptation of the Index for Inclusion, a promising tool, offers hope in addressing these challenges.

6th International Conference En-Re Energy & Responsibility : Book of Extended Abstracts
2024

Opis: In the context of escalating climate challenges, the EnRe conference is dedicated to exploring pathways to climate neutrality and the sustainable green transition. The conference is focused on the development and implementation of innovations supporting the transformation of energy systems, industrial systems, and living systems, all with the goal of creating a sustainable future with net-zero emissions. The conference brings together experts, researchers, policymakers, and business leaders to share their experiences, research, and visions. The aim of the conference is to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas, and to collectively develop comprehensive approaches and strategies for achieving climate neutrality. This conference is not just a knowledge exchange, but also a platform for encouraging concrete actions that will ensure a greenerand more sustainable future for our next generations to come.

5th International Conference EnRe - Energy & Responsibility : book of extended abstracts
2022, zbornik

Opis: The tendency to improve energy devices, the impact of environmental factors and the development of new technologies for the exploitation of sustainable resources contribute to the fact that we have witnessed intensive energy development in the last decade. The two most important Slovenian energy pools, located in Velenje and Krško, are at the turning point of renovation, and are facing major challenges in the design and planning of modern energy devices. The current generation faces a great ethical responsibility to leave their descendants a world with as little human impact on the environment as possible. Therefore, communication between experts and researchers, discussion and exchange of different views for the future is of the utmost importance, which is exactly the purpose of the EnRe Conference.
Ključne besede: renewable energy and energy storage systems, classic energy systems, policies and strategies for RES, alternative energy systems, energy conversions, energy transfer, electrical machine, thermal machines, mathematical methods in energy engineering, environmental protection, micro and nano energetics, hydrogen technologies, low carbon technologies and strategies, nuclear energy, smart buildings, smart cities and smart grids

Theoretical scope of EM and sustainability
Marina Zhuravskaya, Elena Morozova, 2016, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: It is no secret that the amount of accumulated waste in Russia today is about 90 billion tons. And the situation is that distinct economic incentives for integrated waste management just do not exist (http://kn51.ru/news/society/ecology/2013/5/02/ekologiya-kak-indikator-zrelosti-obshchestva.html). Many people believe that there are only two ways of development: go back to primitive society or go forward to the inevitable destruction of the environment. However, there is an alternative that combines the preservation of the environment and social well-being – it is the concept of sustainable development.
