Germanismen im Drautal aus der Sicht der Generationsunterschiede
Tanja Malek, 2019, diplomsko delo

B. verschiedene Vokale).

A 3D nonlinear dynamic analysis of a rock-fill dam based on IZIIS software
Violeta Mircevska, Vladimir Bickovski, Mihail Garevski, 2007, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper treats the 3D nonlinear dynamic behavior of a rock-fill dam based on the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion. The dam is situated in a steep, narrow, “V-shaped” rigid canyon. The concept of a massless rock foundation is treated, for which a certain part of the rock is included in the model. The dam-rock interface was modeled by contact elements, which allowed certain relative displacements between the two media of different stiffnesses. The generation of the 3D mathematical model was related to the topology of the terrain, and the nonlinear dynamic response was based on the "step-by-step" linear-acceleration direct-integration method, making use of the Wilson-θ method. The convergence process was in accordance with the Newton-Raphson method. First, the initial static effective stresses existing in the conditions of the established stationary filtration through the clayey core were defined. The analysis was based on an original FE program for the static and dynamic analyses of rock-fill dams, as well as a FE program for the solution of the stationary filtration process through the clayey core. The dynamic response of the 3D model of the dam was defined for the effect of harmonic excitations. Dynamic analyses in the linear and nonlinear domains were performed for the purpose of comparing the results. The time histories of the linear and nonlinear responses were defined for selected sections and nodes of the model, the tension cut-off zones, the plastic deformations, and the stress-shear strain relationships. The coefficient against the sliding of the potential sliding surfaces was also defined. It can be concluded that 3D analyses as well as a nonlinear material treatment of the soils built in the dam are imperative for a proper assessment of the stability of rock-fill dams situated in narrow canyons.

The impact of wind-power generation on the planning of regulating reserve
Dunja Srpak, 2018, doktorska disertacija

Opis: This doctoral thesis focuses on the efficient management of a power system with a large share of wind-power generation and on the methods for planning the operating reserve. The approach proposed in this research involves the use of data directly from the network’s dispatch center and the forecasting systems, as well as already existing day-ahead plans for wind and load power to determine the regulating reserve for the load frequency control (LFC). The same principle is used to find the optimal regulating reserve distribution (RRD) between the available generation units in the system for automatic generation control. It is developed using iterative power-flow computation with a reactive power correction and a stochastic search algorithm for transmission-loss minimization. Moreover, variations in the generation of individual wind-power plants (WPPs) from the plan are considered in the optimal RRD. A special focus of this research has been put on the Croatian power system due to the accessibility of relevant information and operating data. The obtained results of the testing with actual data from the Croatian power system indicate substantial savings in ancillary service costs for the LFC, while ensuring safe system operation. The considerable impact of variations from the plan for each individual WPP generation on the optimal RRD was also identified. Comparing the results for the daily sum of regulating reserves obtained with the proposed and the currently used approaches, the corresponding costs indicate a total saving of 21.2% for all 12 selected days in 2015 when using the proposed approach. In practice, a part of the reserve can be slow, i.e., with a lower unit price, thus the savings would be even higher. Furthermore, the obtained optimal RRD computed according to the proposed approach was compared with four commonly used RRDs in Croatia. The results obtained using the proposed approach indicate a decrease in the total transmission losses of between 1% and 2%. With a larger share of the generation from the WPPs and with more dispersed locations of the WPPs and regulating power plants a larger reduction in the transmission losses is expected.

Intergenerational cooperation at the workplace from the management perspective
Živa Veingerl Čič, Simona Šarotar Žižek, 2017, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: The labor market is currently experiencing employees of four generations. Each generation has different behavior patterns, attitudes, expectations, habits, and motivational mechanisms. As generational gaps play an important role in the business process, organizations have to find ways to balance the needs and views of different age groups. To overcome the negative outcomes arising from generational differences and to use the strengths of each generation, the implementation of comprehensive and proactive model of intergenerational cooperation, presented in the paper, is becoming the necessity for each organization because of the benefits.

The impact of wind-power generation on the planning of regulating reserve
Dunja Srpak, Boštjan Polajžer, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper presents new approach to the optimal distribution of the regulating reserve (RR) in a set of available regulating generation units. It is developed using evolutionary computation for the transmission-loss minimization and power-flow computation by applying the iterative method with a reactive power correction for voltage control. The approach involves the use of actual operating data directly from the network’s dispatch centre as well as daily and hourly plans of wind and load power for determining the RR requirements for the load frequency control (LFC). By testing the proposed approach on a case study, the possibility of implementing it on real power systems is demonstrated. The obtained results of the testing with actual data from the Croatian control area indicate substantial savings in ancillary service costs for the LFC and the considerable impact of different variations from the plan of each individual wind-power plant on the optimal RR distribution.

Practicality of base load renewable generation in India
Karthik Subramanya Bhat, Udo Bachhiesl, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: India, among several other countries globally, now faces a unique situation where managing the energy transition process without hurting the economic development becomes the highlight of its policies. The Indian power sector is highly carbon intensive, with coal based power providing 70% of the total electricity generated. Renewable energy occupies around 15% of the capacity mix. Energy access along with several other challenges, pose an obstacle to the needed transition to clean energy. As the seasonal load variations in India are not prominent, cheap coal based power supplies most of the load profile, while gas power plants are used for peak loads. The myth that renewable energy sources cannot meet baseload demand has become widely accepted and wide-spread, given their fluctuating nature. Several studies demonstrate an optimistic transition to 100% renewable sources might just be possible in the coming decades. In a carbon-rich power sector like India, the ‘base load’ mind set is a pretty big and powerful hurdle, as ensuring base load generation becomes a major issue with implications directly affecting the country’s economy. In this study, an effort has been made to discuss whether base load renewable generation in India is feasible, and the challenges involved.

Analysis of the spanish electricity market and proposals for future development
Ester Getino, Emilio García, Klemen Deželak, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: Nowadays the electricity is found in any daily activity, while a state can not develop its economic and social potential without a consolidated electricity system. In sense of the liberalized electrical systems, the figure of an electric market becomes fundamental. This paper shows an overview of the Spanish electricity market, involving its problems and future objectives. Spain as a member of the European Union faces the demands proposed by the European Commission. The European challenge is not an individual challenge for individual member but requires the cooperation of all member states, moving towards an energetically integrated European Union.

The appeal and applicability of ICT study materials
Tomaž Bratina, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Effective contemporary teaching is closely connected to the inclusion of ICT, which comprises technological tools and the preparation and distribution of multimedia learning content. Therefore, one of the objectives of pre-service teacher education is to produce a technologically competent teacher. For this reason, the study programme includes a range of learning content where pre-service teachers engage in practical work in order to learn about the uses of ICT, tools and procedures for the production and distribution of multimedia learning content. Current generations of pre-service teachers are considered as belonging to Generation Z, or digital natives, and we can consequently expect experience, greater interest in studying the material and motivation to use ICT in their work. After the conclusion of the ICT in Education course, a study was prepared focusing on the learning materials that pre-service teachers find interesting, how they assess the applicability and transferability of this material and on the assessment of their own qualification for preparing multimedia learning materials. The results have shown that contemporary generations are familiar with working with ICT; however, they lack the experience and knowledge for using programs and tools. They want more knowledge and practical work in preparing multimedia learning material and in its distribution. The possibility of distributing multimedia learning content has resulted in a notable interest in working with Moodle, which is evident from the comparison of results from this year%s generation and those from two years ago. Students believe that the syllabus provided is interesting and useful. The acquired knowledge will be useful in the production of future learning materials and for work in other courses. The findings of the study will be used in the updating and preparation of future syllabi.

Effect of Bifidobacterium breve on the intestinal microbiota of coeliac children on gluten free diet
Andrea Quagliariello, Irene Aloisio, Nicole Bozzi Cionci, Donata Luiselli, Giuseppe D'Auria, Llúcia Martinez-Priego, David Pérez-Villarroya, Tomaž Langerholc, Maša Primec, Dušanka Mičetić-Turk, Diana Di Gioia, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Coeliac disease (CD) is associated with alterations of the intestinal microbiota. Although several Bifidobacterium strains showed anti-inflammatory activity and prevention of toxic gliadin peptides generation in vitro, few data are available on their efficacy when administered to CD subjects. This study evaluated the effect of administration for three months of a food supplement based on two Bifidobacterium breve strains (B632 and BR03) to restore the gut microbial balance in coeliac children on a gluten free diet (GFD). Microbial DNA was extracted from faeces of 40 coeliac children before and after probiotic or placebo administration and 16 healthy children (Control group). Sequencing of the amplified V3-V4 hypervariable region of 16S rRNA gene as well as qPCR of Bidobacterium spp., Lactobacillus spp., Bacteroides fragilis group Clostridium sensu stricto and enterobacteria were performed. The comparison between CD subjects and Control group revealed an alteration in the intestinal microbial composition of coeliacs mainly characterized by a reduction of the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio, of Actinobacteria and Euryarchaeota. Regarding the effects of the probiotic, an increase of Actinobacteria was found as well as a re-establishment of the physiological Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio. Therefore, a three-month administration of B. breve strains helps in restoring the healthy percentage of main microbial components.
