1. The impact of information systems on project success in a hybrid work environment: evidence from the world's largest consulting firmMarko Samardzic, Teodora Vuckovic, Danijela Ciric Lalic, Iztok Palčič, Uglješa Marjanović, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study investigated the impact of information systems (IS) success on Project Success (PS) within hybrid and remote work environments, drawing empirical evidence from the world's largest consulting firm. By integrating the DeLone and McLean IS success model with established PS frameworks, the research examined how IS components—system quality, user satisfaction, and use/ intent to use—influence key PS dimensions: project management success, impact on the team, impact on the customer, and project investment success. Data from 198 employees were analyzed using structural equation modeling, confirming all hypothesized relationships. Results revealed that IS net benefits significantly enhance PS across all dimensions, while system quality and user satisfaction further drive IS effectiveness. The study underscores the critical role of robust digital infrastructure in optimizing project outcomes, offering theoretical insights and practical recommendations for organizations navigating hybrid work models. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed. 2. Exploring digital transformation journey among micro, small-, and medium-sized enterprisesMarjeta Marolt, Gregor Lenart, Mirjana Kljajić Borštnar, Andreja Pucihar, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper aims to explore the patterns in micro, small-, and medium-sized enterprises’ (MSMEs) digital transformation journey during recent years. Using an emergent
concurrent mixed-methods approach, we combined insights from six in-depth interviews
with MSME managers and owners with survey data from 66 MSMEs. The findings reveal
major inhibitors and accelerators of MSMEs’ digital transformation and demonstrate how
they cope with them by engaging in digitalisation actions. This study also provides insights
into how inhibitors, accelerators, and digitalisation actions vary across MSME sizes. While
an increased adoption of digital technology was observed among the participating MSMEs,
this study identifies three distinct digital transformation paths: necessary, experimental,
and committed. Each path is shaped by a unique combination of inhibitors and accelerators. From the practical perspective, this research provides insights for MSME managers
and owners on how to tailor their digital transformation efforts to their unique inhibitors
and accelerators. In addition, our insights can help policy makers to promote the digital
transformation of MSMEs through appropriate measures and support mechanisms tailored
to the specific needs of smaller enterprises. Ključne besede: digital transformation, turbulent environment, micro, small- and medium-sized enterprises, case study Objavljeno v DKUM: 25.08.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 5

4. Towards inclusive and resilient living environments for older adults: a methodological framework for assessment of social sustainability in nursing homesVanja Skalicky Klemenčič, Vesna Žegarac Leskovar, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The quality of living environments for older adults represents a critical component of social sustainability in an ageing society. Among various housing options, nursing homes are the most institutionalised form of elderly care and demand special attention regarding architectural design. This paper explores the impact of architectural and open space features on social sustainability in living environments for older adults. A comparative analysis of three Slovenian nursing homes is presented. The first two, built in the post-war period, were based on elevated architectural criteria inspired by Swedish human-centred housing design. The third was completed in 2021 in the post-COVID-19 era, which revealed the vulnerability of such housing typologies. An integrated methodological framework was developed by applying two complementary assessment tools: the Safe and Connected, developed by the authors to evaluate the spatial, health, and social resilience of nursing home environments, and the Well-being and Integration, addressing the role of open space with a particular emphasis on the identification of older adults with their environment and the facilitation of social resilience. Both tools evaluate indicators linked to the social dimension of quality of life for older adults. The results show a gradual improvement in architectural quality from the 1960s to the 1980s, followed by a partial decline in the contemporary case. The Swedish example scored highest across both tools. In contrast, the newest Slovenian facility scored surprisingly low in social integration, highlighting critical gaps in current nursing home design. This study demonstrates the value of applying interdisciplinary, tool-based evaluations in identifying design strategies that foster resilient and inclusive LTC environments, and the proposed framework may serve as a decision-making aid for architects, planners, and policymakers. This research highlights the importance of reintroducing human-oriented design principles to support socially sustainable nursing home environments. 6. Student-centred instruction in science and technology : a model of factors at organizational and individual levelsPetra Pejić Papak, Milena Valenčič Zuljan, Darjo Zuljan, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: To achieve the goals of modern science and technology teaching, it is vital to organize student-centred instruction (SCI). The organization of SCI requires the teacher’s ability to organize cognitively challenging teaching in a stimulating environment. The fundamental purpose of the study was to determine whether the teacher’s organization of SCI was related to factors at the school level (organizational context) and factors at the individual level (individual context). We designed a model comprising four sets of factors. The results show a statistically significant correlation between SCI and all four sets of factors. 7. Harnessing coaching skills for children's mental health and well-beingPetra Cajnko, Kaja Cajnko, Timi Gomboc, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The power of the environment in shaping children’s productivity is truly remarkable. Many children nowadays are absorbed in trivial activities and artificial entertainment, often overlooking the real-life world surrounding them. As Tolstoy famously wrote, "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." Coaching, as a skill, has gained significant traction globally. Through mastering this skill, individuals can courageously embark on their personal transformation and navigate the "inner game" within their minds. This research draws from Slovenian and foreign literature alongside empirical research utilizing statistical methods. It adopts a retrospective approach, examining past influences through quantitative data evaluation, including surveys with children and teachers. The current topic aims to illuminate the positive significance and impact of coaching skills on children. Moreover, it intends to introduce a new skill set to educational institutions, thereby integrating coaching skills into the teaching process. 8. Review of EU projects with a focus on environmental quality : innovation, eco-innovation, and circular-economy elementsJana Hojnik, Mitja Ruzzier, Maja Konečnik Ruzzier, Boris Sučić, Brandon William Soltwisch, Matej Rus, 2024, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: The primary objective of this study is to delve into transnational projects conducted between 2014 and 2020, with a strong emphasis on environmental quality. Our focus is directed toward projects that encompass either eco-innovation or feature elements intrinsic to a circular economy. To achieve this goal, we introduce a pioneering analytical framework tailored to dissect transnational projects, which intricately interweaves the diverse dimensions of environmental quality and innovation, facilitating a comparative assessment across various program classifications. Our approach aligns with the overarching mission of the four flagship initiatives, in which we evaluate the combined impacts on sustainability and innovation. This evaluation considers three fundamental factors: (1) resource allocation, (2) innovation type, and (3) infusion of eco-innovation or circular economy elements. Our methodology unfolds through a systematic, step-by-step progression. First, we meticulously handpick programs, specifically Interreg, Horizon, and Life projects, within the scope of TSG3 (Environmental Quality). Each of these programs corresponds to one of the following four flagship initiatives: (1) overseeing and managing marine species, (2) fostering sustainable development in coastal and maritime zones, (3) safeguarding and elevating natural habitats and terrestrial ecosystems, and (4) formulating transnational contingency strategies for maritime accidents. Through an exhaustive review, we identify projects that either directly or indirectly champion eco-innovation or other facets of the circular economy. Concurrently, we uncover broader manifestations of innovation, eco-innovation, and circular economy principles. Employing the Oslo Manual as a guide, we methodically categorize these innovations into the product, process, organizational, and marketing domains. In the timeframe under scrutiny, a relatively modest subset of projects embraced eco-innovations and practices aligned with the circular economy. Our findings culminate in the formulation of practical implications to invigorate the integration of these dimensions.
