Primerjalna analiza poslovne uspešnosti hotelirstva : primer Slovenija

Opis: Iz leta v leto se pomen turizma na mednarodni in nacionalni ravni krepi,tako v deležu BDP, zaposlenosti, izvoza in naložb. Eden najpomembnejših omejitvenih dejavnikov turističnih zmogljivosti države so nastanitvene zmogljivosti, kar v mednarodnem hotelirstvu običajno merimo s številom hotelskih sob (USALI). Soba je tudi uveljavljena kategorija za merjenje uspešnosti poslovanja na osnovi denarnih in nedenarnih mer. Prispevek analizira dosežke hotelirstva v Sloveniji med leti 2008 in 2017 iz podatkov SURS in Ajpes na osnovi izbranih denarnih in nedenarnih kazalnikov uspešnosti na zaposlenega in na sobo. Iz rezultatov je razvidno, da število nočitev in čistih prihodkov od prodaje ne narašča sorazmerno glede na zaposlenega in glede na sobo. Prav tako vrednost kazalnikov uspešnosti poslovanja dosega v povprečju večjo rast glede na zaposlenega, kot glede na sobo. Iz raziskave sklepamo, da je zahtevnejšemu gostu potrebno ponuditi več vsebin, ki zahtevajo drugačna znanja zaposlenih, več vlaganj v nadstandardne produkte, ki bodo generirali višjo dodano vrednost tako na zaposlenega, kot na poslovni učinek – sobo.

Use of mobile technologies in tourism : natural health resorts study

Opis: Mobile technologies have drastically changed the way people do everyday activities. Tasks previously reserved for desktop environments have moved to mobile devices, and nowadays, half of the internet traffic is stemming from mobile devices. The tourism industry is no exempt from the shift from desktop to mobile. In our research, we check to what extent natural health resorts have adapted and integrated mobile solutions to their websites. We collected data about the friendliness of selected websites using automated online tools and carried out a heuristic evaluation. The results were statistically analyzed and compared. Only roughly half of natural health resorts have optimized their websites for mobile devices. There are no statistically significant differences when comparing purely technical aspects. However, an in-depth heuristic evaluation has shown that some web sites are significantly more mobile-friendly than others and offer better technical conditions for enhanced user experience. Our study is the first technical and contentual evaluation of website mobile devices' friendliness in the natural health resort sector. It warns management, their marketing consultants, and web site developers about the opportunities they are missing by not supporting mobile users sufficiently. Further, it outlines deficiencies and provides suggestions and instructions for optimizing websites to enhance user-friendliness on mobile devices.

The impacts of adventure tourism in mountain regions – a review

Opis: Recently, mountain regions have become highly attractive and important areas for tourism (Beedie & Hudson, 2003; WTO & UNEP, 2008; Rama et al., 2019). One of the most dynamic components of tourism in mountains is adventure tourism, which combines travel, sport and outdoor recreation (Beedie & Hudson, 2003). Since mountains represent sensitive areas in terms of sustainability, it is important to approach them appropriately, in order to apply measures to optimize the impacts of tourism. This study covers a review of the impacts of adventure tourism on mountain areas and an examination of measures that might optimize the impacts of such tourism. The purpose of this paper is to present the latest findings in the field of the impacts of adventure tourism in mountain areas, and certain measures that can be taken to balance the positive and negative impacts. The findings show that the impacts of adventure tourism in mountain destinations vary, and therefore each destination must be treated individually. Furthermore, a thorough approach to achieve balance is needed on a case by case basis, since there is no universal formula for sustainable development of destinations due to their different characteristics. The implications and further research opportunities are given.

Changing values through generations : the case of mountain tourists

Opis: Mountain tourism is becoming an increasingly important part of tourism in the Alpine countries, so research among mountain tourists is necessary. The changing values of different generations of tourists play a major role in their behaviour in a high-altitude environment and consequently affect the condition of these areas. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the values of different generations of mountain tourists, different genders of tourists and among members and non-members of mountaineering associations. To achieve this purpose, a quantitative approach was used. The data was collected through a self-completion questionnaire in physical form at locations of 1st category mountain huts in Slovenian mountains during the 2020 summer mountaineering season. As part of the research, the sample was divided into four groups according to the year of birth of participants. With multivariate analysis, the existence of significant differences between groups of respondents of different ages, gender and membership, according to their values, was determined. The results of the research demonstrate the correlation between prevailing mountaineering values of mountain tourists and their characteristics. The research helps us to understand the mountaineering values of tourists who visit the mountains and fills the knowledge gap in the field of the differences between the values of different generations of mountain tourists, different genders and among membership in mountaineering associations. As outdoor activities are also gaining in popularity during the Covid-19 pandemic, the results of this research can be useful for attracting new members to mountaineering organizations, preserving mountaineering culture and sustainable development of tourism in the mountains.

Kulturno-arheološko bogatstvo kao aspekt održivog i odgovornog turizma Trebinjsko-fočanske regije : diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija

Opis: Održivi i odgovorni turizam u službi povijesne baštine danas sve više dobiva na značaju i pažnji. Ovaj diplomski rad proučava održivo-odgovorni aspekt povezan s kulturno-arheološkim bogatstvom Trebinjsko-fočanske regije koja ima veliki potencijal za kvalitetno integriranje u turizam i turističku ponudu. Naše projektno područje istraživanja smješteno je na istočnom i jugoistočnom dijelu Bosne i Hercegovine s vrlo povoljnim geografskim položajem koje obuhvaća 10 gradova i općina. Tradicija povijesne baštine na tlu ove regije traje neprekidno i kontinuirano već niz godina. Ovo područje se susretalo s mnogobrojnim problemima u prošlosti koji su kočili ravnomjerno i odgovorno očuvanje baštine i njen značaj. Cilj diplomskog rada je da se na osnovi validnih podataka teorijskog i empirijskog dijela riješi problematika slabe prepoznatljivosti kulturno-arheoloških nalazišta i procijene mogućnosti za dodatno uključivanje istih u turističku ponudu destinacije. Najveći utjecaj na ovu povećanu turističku aktivnost imali su arheolozi 80-ih godina prošlog stoljeća kada su otkriveni značajni kulturno-arheološki lokaliteti koji danas predstavljaju nacionalno blago i oslikavaju identitet naroda ovog područja. Prikupljanjem podataka u teorijskom i empirijskom dijelu, uvidjelo se stanje na terenu i veliki potencijal za uključivanje kulturno-arheološkog bogatstva u turizam. Međutim aktualna istraživanja označavaju da ovo područje još uvijek uvelike zaostaje za regionalnim i evropskim državama te su stoga vrednovanje, implementacija i buđenje svijesti ključni parametri zadržavanja njihove korisnosti i stvaranje kvalitetne konkurentske turističke prednosti.

Aktivni turizem v naravi : primer pohodništva v Sloveniji

Opis: Povezovanje športa in turizma predstavlja pomembno smer v razvoju sodobnega turizma. Športni turizem je s tem tudi pomemben člen razvoja slovenskega turizma, znotraj katerega igra pomembno vlogo aktivni turizem v naravi, v katerega lahko štejemo dejavnosti kot so smučanje in druge zimske aktivnosti, kolesarstvo, vodne aktivnosti, adrenalinska doživetja, aktivnosti v zraku in pohodništvo. Pohodništvo, ki predstavlja eno izmed najbolj množičnih aktivnosti v naravi, je v veliki meri razvito na območju Alp in s tem tudi Slovenije. V prispevku je opisan zgodovinski razvoj pohodništva ter vzpostavljanja planinske organizacije na slovenskem. Predstavljena je trenutna krovna organizacija na področju gorništva v Sloveniji z vključeno statistiko gibanja števila članov v preteklih letih in opisom povezovanja s planinskimi organizacijami v Evropi. Ugotavljamo, da pohodništvo spada med najbolj priljubljene in dostopne športne vsebine in predstavlja pomemben element športnega turizma, še posebej aktivnega turizma v naravi. Pohodniški turizem predstavlja pomemben element v razvoju trajnostne in dostopne turistične ponudbe, ki obenem služi tudi kot spodbuda zdravemu načinu življenja tako turistov kot lokalnega prebivalstva.

Turizem in podnebne spremembe : vloga destinacijskega managementa

Opis: Turizem pomembno prispeva k podnebnim spremembam in je tudi eden od sektorjev, ki jih to močno prizadene. Turizem znatno prispeva k ogljičnemu odtisu, saj turistične aktivnosti temeljijo na energiji, ki se pridobiva iz fosilnih goriv, zato je v prihodnosti nujno izboljšati spremljanje izpustov, opredeliti vloge različnih oblik turizma in identificirati ukrepe za zmanjševanja ogljičnega odtisa turizma na destinaciji. Osrednje pričakovane posledice podnebnih sprememb, ki bodo pomembno vplivale na turizem, so čedalje več ekstremnih vremenskih pojavov, spremembe temperature zraka, drugačen padavinski režim in dvigovanje morske gladine. Poglavje izpostavlja aktivno vlogo in potenciale destinacijskega managementa pri oblikovanju analiz ranljivosti destinacij in tveganj za ponudnike, spodbujanju medsektorskega sodelovanja za dosego boljše podnebne odpornosti destinacij ter ozaveščanju o kolektivni soodgovornosti za učinke podnebnih sprememb in o vlogi turizma pri trajnostnem prehodu.

Introducing Amazon Explore : a digital giant’s exploration of the virtual tourism experiences

Opis: Purpose Amazon Explore is a new online experience product from Amazon, which offers live stream sightseeing of destinations around the world. This paper aims to provide a first insight into how exactly Amazon Explore enters the virtual experience (VE) industry, and discuss the possible implications of its business model for the future of virtual and offline travel experiences. Design/methodology/approach Qualitative and quantitative methods of content analysis methods were employed in this study. The sample of this research consisted of 175 Amazon Explore products. Firstly, the authors analysed the content of each product, and then quantitative method were used to present the data. With this analysis, the authors presented how Amazon Explore is testing the foundations for new business models, and discuss the possible implications for the future of tourism. One year later, those same Amazon Explore products were reviewed again to check development progress. The following were the main questions regarding VE: How interactive are Amazon Explore products? How does Amazon Explore aim to ensure the monetisation of these products in an economically sustainable way in order to go beyond the “freemium” business model, often associated with VE as just another destination marketing tool? Findings This article presents the discussions of VE and virtual reality (VR). The authors determined the level of interactivity of the diverse VE offered themes with a model of four levels of interactivity. The results show that the analysed products achieve mostly only low levels of interaction. Regarding monetisation, Amazon Explore shows three possible future directions in the development of VE: as a marketing tool, as an extension of the offline experience and as potentially someday replacing real travel as part of the future monetisation scenario. Originality/value The article offers the first insights into Amazon's extension into the realm of VE in two time periods in 2020 and 2021, and, based on these preliminary results, discusses four possible scenarios for the future development of VE monetisation.

Potentials and possibilities for a holistic-glamping site in Pomurska region of Slovenia : 1st Cycle Academic Bachelor's Studies Graduate Thesis

Opis: Glamping, camping the luxurious way of has the potential to provide a unique experience. Glamping is the best alternative for the people who want to have an outdoor experience but at the same time a comfortable stay. This study aimed to develop a marketing plan for a holistic-glamping site in Pomurska region of Slovenia. A structured questionnaire was used to survey (N=201) potential glampers and campers online. The results have indicated that tree houses and cabins are the most preferred type of accommodation facilities indicated by the respondents who also prefer to have their glamping sites in the mountains or near river streams. Luxury and closeness to the nature are always the main identified characteristics of glamping. But the accommodation facilities should contain luxury while also the same time minimal infrastructure as it should not damage the environment with a lot of infrastructures. In addition, the respondents preferred anti-stress treatments, contact with nature, new experience, and authenticity in the holistic glamping. Relaxation and adventure are the main motivations that motivate the people to do glamping in Pomurska. Because of its focus on understanding glamping from the perspective of potential customers, this paper contributes to broadening the conceptual understanding of glamping and provides a platform for further research.

Funkcionalnost nautičkog sektora prije, za vrijeme i poslije krize izazvane bolešću COVID-19 : diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študija

Opis: Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je, na temelju dobivenih rezultata, iznijeti određene prijedloge namijenjene poduzećima koja posluju u nautičkom sektoru u smislu poboljšanja poslovanja. Konkretno, analizira se utjecaj pandemije na nautički sektor u financijskom smislu. Sektor nautike okarakteriziran je kao multifunkcionalan, stoga se smatra i vrlo profitabilnom industrijom. Globalizacija je imala golem utjecaj na današnje turističke trendove, kao i na pojavu novih turista. Taj pokret posebno je naglasila pandemija bolesti COVID-19, koja je dodatno naglasila već užurbanu digitalizaciju. Tehnološke i digitalne inovacije budućnost su u svim granama turizma, pa tako i u nautičkom turizmu. Hrvatska posjeduje prirodne adute za razvoj te vrste turizma, ali kvalitetom, opremljenošću i samom infrastrukturom još zaostaje za drugim zemljama. Istraživanje je pokazalo da je pandemija utjecala na poduzeća nautičkog turizma izravno uzrokovavši pad prometa i prihoda zbog vladinih ograničenje i straha turista od zaraze te neizravno rast troškova. Vrhunac pada prometa zabilježen je u 2021. godini, nakon čega se bilježi rast. Međutim, u narednoj godini očekuje se oporavak, pa čak i rekordni rast. Osnovna sredstva prilagodbe pandemiji pružanje su sredstva za zaštitu od zaraze i prakticiranje društvenog distanciranja. Sredstvo prilagodbe koje ostaje i nakon pandemije, a potaknuto je istom implementacija digitalnog marketinga.
