Distributed energy resource operation analysis using discrete event-simulationBojan Rupnik, Dušan Kragelj, Simona Šinko, Tomaž Kramberger, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper presents a discrete-event simulation (DES) approach for simulation of distributed energy resources (DER). The DES approach provides means to adapt the energy workloads of the system according to any variations of demands that can occur due to temperature regulation requirements or operational demands. Along with a basic model based on a concrete DER configuration, additional models are presented and analysed in order to demonstrate the adaptability of the DES approach to analyse alternative configurations. The models were tested on historical energy consumption data in order to provide the expected workloads and costs. Models are capable to predict the amount of three different energies and cost for the company based on the inside and outside temperatures. 2. Izboljšava embalaže vratic električnih omaric v izbranem podjetju : diplomsko deloMitja Zagoranski, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: V diplomski nalogi z naslovom Izboljšava embalaže vratic električnih omaric smo se osredotočili na iskanje embalaže, ki bi nudila večjo zaščito izdelkom med transportom, omogočala enostavnejšo manipulacijo s polizdelki na odvzemnem mestu ter optimizirala tovorni prostor, s čimer bi omogočili transport večje količine izdelkov.
Za namene diplomskega dela smo v začetku naloge povzeli že znana teoretična izhodišča in stališča s področja embalaže. Glavne ugotovitve naše raziskave kažejo, da lahko z uporabo kompaktnejše embalaže zmanjšamo poškodbe polizdelkov, kar posledično znižuje stroške zaradi odpisov poškodovanih izdelkov. Predlagana embalaža bi prav tako zagotavljala večjo varnost zaposlenih, saj prihaja pri manipulaciji izdelkov občasno do poškodb zaradi slabe zaščite polizdelkov v trenutni embalaži. Z uvedbo nove embalaže bi podjetje omogočilo transport večje količine vrat in povečalo izkoristek prostora na tovornem vozilu. Izpostaviti je treba tudi možnost večkratne uporabe nove embalaže, ki je obstojnejša kot embalaža podjetja, ki jo trenutno uporabljajo.
V zaključku diplomskega dela smo povzeli priporočila podjetju, ki bi lahko vpeljalo uporabo nove embalaže ter preverilo, ali se stroški transporta, odpadnega materiala in odpisanih izdelkov zmanjšajo ob uporabi nove embalaže skozi daljše časovno obdobje. 3. Spatial modelling of the transport mode choice : application on the Vienna transport networkSimona Šinko, Bojan Rupnik, Klemen Prah, Tomaž Kramberger, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: A new approach for spatial modelling of transport mode choice is presented in the paper. The approach tackles the problem by considering the trade-off between subjective and objective factors. To obtain mode Preference Rates (PRs) based on subjective factors, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is applied. The objective factors are expressed with the journey time from any point in the map to destination according to the available transport mode choice on the specific connection. The results are presented as PRs of individual transport modes. The model is validated on the con-ducted the survey, with students of Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) as a target audience. Members of different target groups (age, national, employment) decide differently regarding the transport choice, so it is better to analyse them separately. The presented model can be used for the city transport planning in any urban area. It can help promote the sustainable modes of transport in the areas that are less adjusted in sustainable manner. 4. Organizacija dela v drogeriji in optimizacija procesa polnjenja polic : diplomsko deloMaja Babšek, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: Zaključno delo se osredotoča na optimizacijo delovnih procesov v drogeriji, s posebnim poudarkom na organizaciji polnjenja polic. V okviru analize smo preučili obstoječe postopke in raziskali različne priložnosti za izboljšave, vključno s preureditvijo skladiščnih prostorov in standardizacijo delovnih postopkov. Ugotovitve kažejo, da je z optimizacijo teh procesov mogoče bistveno zmanjšati nepotrebne premike prodajalk, skrajšati čas polnjenja polic ter izboljšati celotno organizacijo dela. Predlagane rešitve vključujejo uvedbo novih regalov za boljše skladiščenje, preureditev skladišča, izboljšano pripravo vozičkov ter učinkovitejše načine polnjenja polic. Poleg tega bo uvedba tehnologij, kot so samopostrežni terminali, razbremenila prodajalke pri rutinskih nalogah. S temi rešitvami se bo bistveno povečala učinkovitost dela, kar bo prispevalo k boljšemu poslovanju drogerije. 5. Spatial modelling of modal shift due to COVID-19Simona Šinko, Klemen Prah, Tomaž Kramberger, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The outbreak of COVID-19 caused many changes in people's life. One of the most significant is the travel behaviour and transport mode choice. This study focus on the changes that the inhabitants of Vienna made in their travel choices because of the virus. The same research about spatial modelling the transport mode choice of commuters in Vienna was completed in 2019 and is a topic addressed in our previous work. Based on our developed methodology, this article indicates that public transport is not a dominant transport mode choice as it was before the virus outbreak.The main result of this paper is geographically defined areas of application of individual alternatives shown on the final map of modal shift in Vienna, which could provide theoretical support for policy-makers and transportation planners. For the city of Vienna, we found that the area of the city where cars are now used has increased, which certainly has a negative impact on air quality and life in the city. The advantage of the methodology is that it can also be applied to other cities in the world. 6. Towards productive and ergonomic order picking : multi-objective modeling approachBrigita Gajšek, Simona Šinko, Tomaž Kramberger, Marcin Butlewski, Eren Özceylan, Goran Đukić, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The logistics sector should strive for sustainability alongside productivity by protecting its order pickers' health and welfare. Existing storage assignment models are mainly based on the criterion of order picking time and, to a lesser extent, the human factor. In the paper, a solution to a storage assignment problem using a multi-objective model based on binary integer linear programing is presented by developing a solution that considers order picking time, energy expenditure and health risk. The Ovako Working Posture Assessment System (OWAS) method was used for health risk assessment. The downside of solely health risk-optimization is that the average order picking time increases by approximately 33 % compared to solely time-optimization. Contrary to this, the developed multi-objective function emphasizing time has proven to be promising in finding a compromise between the optimal order picking time and eliminating work situations with a very-high risk for injuries. Its use increases the time by only 3.8 % compared to solely time-optimization while significantly reducing health risk. 7. Uporaba umetne inteligence v procesu upravljanja projektov : diplomsko deloRobert Mohorko, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: Upravljanje projektov omogoča načrtovanje, izvedbo, nadzor in zaključevanje projektov znotraj časovnih, proračunskih in kakovostnih omejitev. Izvaja se v različnih sektorjih, vključno z gradbeništvom, informacijskimi tehnologijami, zdravstvom, izobraževanjem, finančnimi storitvami in drugimi. Digitalna tehnologija, kot so specializirana programska oprema, orodja za sodelovanje v realnem času in umetna inteligenca, igra ključno vlogo pri izboljšanju učinkovitosti in preglednosti upravljanja projektov ter spodbuja boljše sodelovanje. Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na raziskovanje vloge umetne inteligence pri upravljanju projektov ter ocenjuje priložnosti in izzive njene uporabe. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene osnove upravljanja projektov in umetne inteligence, medtem ko se v empiričnem delu osredotočamo na pregled literature in trendov s področja uporabe umetne inteligence pri projektnem upravljanju. Ugotavljamo, da uporaba umetne inteligence pri projektnem upravljanju izboljšuje hitrost odločanja, omogoča hitrejše in učinkovitejše napovedovanje tveganj in prilagajanje načrta projekta v realnem času. 8. Vpliv dolžine nohtov na kazalnike opravljanja aktivnosti pri pripravi in pakiranju pošiljke : magistrsko deloLara Sladič, 2024, magistrsko delo Opis: Namen magistrskega dela je bil ugotoviti, ali dolžina nohtov vpliva na kazalnike opravljanja aktivnosti priprave in pakiranja pošiljk. V raziskavi je sodelovalo 15 udeleženk. Udeleženke so med izvajanjem aktivnosti nosile očala za sledenje pogledu, s pomočjo katerih smo posneli celoten potek eksperimenta. Videoposnetki so nam služili za pridobitev časov izvajanja posameznih aktivnosti. Udeleženke smo razdelili v dve skupini: skupina 1 – udeleženke s kratkimi nohti (od 0 mm do 3 mm, merjeno od blazinice prsta) in skupina 2 – udeleženke z dolgimi nohti (4 mm ali več). Po opravljenem eksperimentu je vsaka udeleženka izpolnila dva vprašalnika. Namen prvega je bil zbrati njihove demografske podatke, namen drugega (NASA TLX) pa določiti indeks obremenitve med izvajanjem aktivnosti. V rezultatih in diskusiji smo primerjali čase za izvedbo posameznih aktivnosti in indekse obremenitev med obema skupinama. Korelacija med obema spremenljivkama je pokazala, da obstaja pozitivna (linearna) povezanost med časom izvajanja aktivnosti in občuteno obremenitvijo. Na podlagi statistične analize vzorca smo ugotovili, da so v sklopu eksperimenta udeleženke s kratkimi nohti porabile manj časa za izvedbo aktivnosti in izrazile nižjo stopnjo obremenjenosti kot udeleženke z dolgimi nohti. Zaradi bistvene omejitve raziskav – majhnega vzorca ugotovitev naloge ne moremo posplošiti na celotno populacijo. 9. Regardless of all the good technical characteristics of the technology, if it is chosen inappropriately, it can prove to be a cost driver instead of something that brings added value to the system. Aware of this, we considered selecting a real-time location system (RTLS) based on Ultra-wideband technology in the indoor work environment. In practice and theory, it has been proven that the introduction of the RTLS can have highly positive effects on performance and business sustainability indicators. When reviewing the literature, it was noticed that authors solely focus on the technical properties of the systems and prices when giving guidelines on selecting the optimal RTLS. This article aims to provide advanced guidelines for UWB RTLS selection, proposing a phased selection process which is the main novelty proposed and investigated in this research. The guidelines are based on fragmented recommendations in the scientific literature that have been identified, gathered, considered, and reasonably allocated to the advanced performance-oriented phased selection process. In practice, this approach enables decision-makers to choose the most efficient and most appropriate UWB RTLS for specific logistics systems. 10. Road freight transport forecasting : a fuzzy Monte-Carlo simulation-based model selection approachDejan Dragan, Simona Šinko, Abolfazl Keshavarzsaleh, Maja Rosi, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: As important as the classical approaches such as Akaike's AIC information and Bayesian BIC criterion in model-selection mechanism are, they have limitations. As an alternative, a novel modeling design encompasses a two-stage approach that integrates Fuzzy logic and Monte Carlo simulations (MCSs). In the first stage, an entire family of ARIMA model candidates with the corresponding information-based, residual-based, and statistical criteria is identified. In the second stage, the Mamdani fuzzy model (MFM) is used to uncover interrelationships hidden among previously obtained models criteria. To access the best forecasting model, the MCSs are also used for different settings of weights loaded on the fuzzy rules. The obtained model is developed to predict the road freight transport in Slovenia in the context of choosing the most appropriate electronic toll system. Results show that the mechanism works well when searching for the best model that provides a well-fit to the real data.
