An asymptotic relation between the wirelength of an embedding and the Wiener index
K. Jagadeesh Kumar, Sandi Klavžar, R. Sundara Rajan, Indra Rajasingh, T. M. Rajalaxmi, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Wirelength is an important criterion to validate the quality of an embedding of a graph into a host graph and is used in particular in VLSI (Very-Large-Scale Integration) layout designs. Wiener index plays a significant role in mathematical chemistry, cheminformatics, and elsewhere. In this note these two concepts are related by proving that the Wiener index of a host graph is an upper bound for the wirelength of a given embedding. The wirelength of embedding complete ▫$2^p$▫-partite graphs into Cartesian products of paths and/or cycles as the function of the Wiener index is determined. The result is an asymptotic approximation of the general upper bound.

Swarmalators under competitive time-varying phase interactions
Gourab Kumar Sar, Sayantan Nag Chowdhury, Matjaž Perc, Dibakar Ghosh, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Swarmalators are entities with the simultaneous presence of swarming and synchronization that reveal emergent collective behavior due to the fascinating bidirectional interplay between phase and spatial dynamics. Although different coupling topologies have already been considered, here we introduce time-varying competitive phase interaction among swarmalators where the underlying connectivity for attractive and repulsive coupling varies depending on the vision (sensing) radius. Apart from investigating some fundamental properties like conservation of center of position and collision avoidance, we also scrutinize the cases of extreme limits of vision radius. The concurrence of attractive–repulsive competitive phase coupling allows the exploration of diverse asymptotic states, like static π, and mixed phase wave states, and we explore the feasible routes of those states through a detailed numerical analysis. In sole presence of attractive local coupling, we reveal the occurrence of static cluster synchronization where the number of clusters depends crucially on the initial distribution of positions and phases of each swarmalator. In addition, we analytically calculate the sufficient condition for the emergence of the static synchronization state. We further report the appearance of the static ring phase wave state and evaluate its radius theoretically. Finally, we validate our findings using Stuart–Landau oscillators to describe the phase dynamics of swarmalators subject to attractive local coupling.

Time delays shape the eco‑evolutionary dynamics of cooperation
Sourav Roy, Sayantan Nag Chowdhury, Srilena Kundu, Gourab Kumar Sar, Jeet Banerjee, Biswambhar Rakshit, Prakash Chandra Mali, Matjaž Perc, Dibakar Ghosh, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: We study the intricate interplay between ecological and evolutionary processes through the lens of the prisoner’s dilemma game. But while previous studies on cooperation amongst selfsh individuals often assume instantaneous interactions, we take into consideration delays to investigate how these might afect the causes underlying prosocial behavior. Through analytical calculations and numerical simulations, we demonstrate that delays can lead to oscillations, and by incorporating also the ecological variable of altruistic free space and the evolutionary strategy of punishment, we explore how these factors impact population and community dynamics. Depending on the parameter values and the initial fraction of each strategy, the studied eco-evolutionary model can mimic a cyclic dominance system and even exhibit chaotic behavior, thereby highlighting the importance of complex dynamics for the efective management and conservation of ecological communities. Our research thus contributes to the broader understanding of group decision-making and the emergence of moral behavior in multidimensional social systems.

Geo-archaeological endowments and teh tourism development in Eritrea
Mohammad Afsar Alam, Niraj Kumar Mishra, 2013, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Eritrea is one of the countries located in the horn of Africa. Geo-Archaeological sites of the country have been the main focus of the study area. This paper presents an overview of the research and includes a discussion of the tourism potential of Eritrea and potential benefits of Geo-Archaeological endowments in the development of its tourism industry. She is having diverse Geo-Archaeological endowments which are capable of attracting large number of tourists from all over the world. This country enjoys unique and exciting landmarks, such as breath-taking escarpments, mountains, depressions, open plains, plateaus, Sea with immense variety of marine life, islands, beautiful coastal lines etc. Furthermore, as Eritrea is situated in the region of the cradle of life, it owns rare archaeological and historical sites with unraveled cultural heritages. Though, Eritrea’s tourism industry is currently rated as one of the lowest foreign exchange earners in the country, the potential of tourism industry to become a leading source of foreign exchange earnings in Eritrea has not been far realized. It is evident that the country’s tourism potential has not been fully explored and marketed. Though several attempts have been made to enhance its rapid development, but these efforts have suffered some major drawbacks i.e. because the richness of the sites is not fully exploited to such an extent that it can revitalize the tourism sector and due to lack of a comprehensive spatial database of tourism facilities and destinations. In the present paper an attempt has been made to investigate the role of Geo-Archaeological Sites in the Development of Tourism with respect to tourism potentials in the country.

Cohesive means in Slovenian spontaneous dialectical conversations
Danila Zuljan Kumar, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In the first part the article discusses the relationship between textual coherence and cohesion, then it offers a classification of cohesive means for Slovenian conversational texts. In the second part the article presents the use of cohesive means in spontaneous spoken dialectal conversations. The use of co-reference means, i.e. ellipsis of pronouns, recurrences and partial recurrences, lexical relations (synonyms, antonyms, hypernyms, hyponyms, collocations and paraphrase); ellipsis (systemic and non-systemic) and parallelism are presented in detail.
Ključne besede: Slovene dialects, textual cohesion, cohesive means, co-reference means, ellipsis, parallelism, dialectal conversations

Model sistema inšpekcijskega nadzora na ravni lokalne samoupravne skupnosti
Sabina Tehovnik Kumar, 2016, magistrsko delo/naloga

Z uporabo modela smo podrobneje izoblikovali dejavnike vpliva in njihovo soodvisnost ter določili merila učinkovitosti in uspešnosti nadzora. Razviti model sistemske dinamike omogoča boljše poznavanje delovanja in dinamike sistema in s tem prispeva k oblikovanju novih politik vodenja in upravljanja, kar vodi k višji učinkovitosti inšpekcijskih služb.

Implementacija distribuiranega sistema alarmov za pospeševalnik delcev fair s pomočjo vzporednega modela aktorjev in koncepta agentov
Damjan Kumar, 2016, magistrsko delo/naloga

Concurrent) programskega modela aktorjev in uporabe agentov.
