2. Dejavniki rasti trga električnih vozil v Evropi in smotrnost njihovega nakupa v Sloveniji : magistrsko deloTom Rakuša, 2025, magistrsko delo Opis: Magistrska naloga obravnava razvoj trga električnih vozil v Evropi z vidika tehničnih, ekonomskih in političnih dejavnikov, pri čemer poseben poudarek namenja smotrnosti nakupa električnega vozila v Sloveniji.
Analiza vključuje različne scenarije polnjenja – domače polnjenje, javno omrežje in uporabo lastne sončne elektrarne – ter izračunava skupne stroške lastništva v primerjavi z vozili z notranjim izgorevanjem. 5. Measuring students’ use of digital technology to support their studiesVesna Čančer, Polona Tominc, Maja Rožman, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: To provide a more holistic understanding of how digital tools shape the educational environment, this paper includes a comprehensive analysis that explores several dimensions of technology use in higher education: use of artificial intelligence in education, online collaboration, use of an E-Board for learning, and excessive use of technology. With the aim of measuring students’ use of digital technology to support their studies, this research meets the goals of developing the measurement process, building a multi-criteria model, and applying it to a real-life example of determining the degree of students’ use of digital technology in relation to the demonstrated quality of academic performance. The analysis is based on a survey conducted among students at the University of Maribor’s Faculty of Economics and Business. Using factor analysis and multi-criteria evaluation, the findings reveal that students who demonstrate very-high-quality achievements also report the highest level of technology use to support their studies. They are followed by students with outstanding achievements, who excel in using an E-Board for learning and in demonstrating responsibility regarding excessive technology use. Students who achieve acceptable-quality results with certain defects stand out in online collaboration and the use of AI in the study process. The lowest level of technology use was reported by students demonstrating moderate-quality achievements. Theoretically, this research contributes to a better understanding of the multidimensional use of digital technology in higher education, while, practically, it provides useful guidelines for optimizing digital learning tools and enhancing the overall quality of the academic process Ključne besede: digital technology in education, artificial intelligence in education, students, academic performance, multi-criteria analysis Objavljeno v DKUM: 20.08.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 10

6. The role of demographics and entrepreneurial motives in digital sales adoptionSamuel Plečko, Barbara Bradač Hojnik, Polona Tominc, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Digital transformation gradually changes businesses, which is also connected with sales.
Despite these advancements, the motives to accept digitalization in sales are undiscovered.
In our study, we examine demographic factors (gender, age, education), entrepreneurial
motives, and the developmental stage of entrepreneurs using data from the Global En-
trepreneurship Monitor (GEM), encompassing 25,633 entrepreneurs from 47 countries.
Logistic regression and subsequently Cramer’s V were employed for a more precise de-
termination of the relevant influences of the explanatory variables. The findings indicate
that younger and early-stage entrepreneurs more often accept digital technologies in sales.
This also applies to entrepreneurs who are motivated by higher income and wealth and the
desire to make changes in the world. These results suggest that digital technologies can
contribute to reducing the divergence between profitable and sustainable goals, as entre-
preneurs perceive their utility in achieving both sets of objectives. Ključne besede: digital technologies in sales, demographics, entrepreneurs’ motives, early-stage entrepreneurs Objavljeno v DKUM: 11.07.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 4

7. Does ownership matter : Nexus between entrepreneurial orientation, network capability, financial resources diversity and financial performance of HGCsBlaž Frešer, Polona Tominc, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background/Purpose: This paper aims to analyse the nexus between selected growth determinants and the finan-
cial performance of high-growth companies (HGCs) in relation to their ownership. In line with principal-agent theory,
we try to determine if the differences exist between managers who are also (co)owners and those managers who are
not (co)owners. Also, we analysed if additional equity-based compensation, through different growth determinants,
could increase HGC’s financial performance.
Methods: The study was conducted on a sample of 119 HGCs from the Republic of Slovenia and was carried out in
2022. The empirical analysis was performed using regression analysis based on exploratory factor analysis (EFA).
Analysis was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 27 software.
Results: Results showed that considering the importance of organisational networking capability for HGC’s finan-
cial performance, there are statistically significant differences between owner-managers and managers, implying
that ownership (and equity-based compensations) could positively shape HGC’s financial performance. In addition,
results show that when analysing the owners-managers group of HGCs, risk-taking and organisational networking
capability positively and statistically significantly impact HGC’s financial performance.
Conclusion: Our paper highlights the importance of organisational networking capability as a growth determinant
through which equity-based manager compensations can positively influence HGCs’ financial performance. The
study contributes to diverse literature related to HGCs and contributes to relevancy for the policymakers aiming at
enabling better financial performance of HGCs. Ključne besede: high-growth company, entrepreneurial orientation, network capability, financial performance, principal-agent theory, equity-based compensation Objavljeno v DKUM: 09.07.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 9

8. Psychological factors impacting academic performance among business studies’ studentsMaja Rožman, Igor Vrečko, Polona Tominc, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study explores the significant psychological factors that impact academic success among students. The sample included 287 undergraduate and postgraduate students of business studies. Structural Equation Modeling was used to analyze the data, investigating the impact of students’ motivation, mental and physical health, work-life balance, and anxiety on both perceived academic success as well as quantitative indicators of academic success. The findings reveal that students’ motivation is significant for enhancing academic success. Additionally, while mental and physical health are significant contributors to academic success, balancing academic work with personal life is essential for fostering a positive perception of academic success. Conversely, anxiety, particularly exam-related, negatively affects students’ perceived academic success, highlighting the need for comprehensive support systems. These findings offer crucial insights for educators and policymakers, paving the way for innovative strategies that enhance academic success and empower students to thrive holistically, both academically and personally. By addressing the full spectrum of challenges students face, we can foster a more resilient, motivated, and successful generation of students. 9. Navigating gender nuances : assessing the impact of AI on employee engagement in Slovenian entrepreneurshipMaja Rožman, Polona Tominc, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background: Our research delved into exploring various selected facets of AI-driven
employee engagement, from the gender perspective, among Slovenian entrepreneurs. Methods:
This research is based on a random sample of 326 large enterprises and SMEs in Slovenia, with an
entrepreneur completing a questionnaire in each enterprise. Results: Findings suggest that there
are no significant differences between male and female entrepreneurs in Slovenia regarding various
aspects of AI-supported entrepreneurial management practice including the following: AI-supported
entrepreneurial culture, AI-enhanced leadership, adopting AI to reduce employee workload, and
incorporating AI tools into work processes. The widespread integration of AI into entrepreneurship
marks a transition to a business landscape that values inclusivity and equity, measuring success
through creativity, strategic technology deployment, and leadership qualities, rather than relying on
gender-based advantages or limitations. Our research also focused on the identification of gender
differences in path coefficients regarding the impact of the four previously mentioned aspects of
AI on employee engagement. While both genders see the value in using AI to alleviate employee
workload, the path coefficients indicate that female entrepreneurs report higher effectiveness in
this area, suggesting differences in the implementation of AI-integrated strategies or tool selection.
Male entrepreneurs, on the other hand, appear to integrate AI tools into their work processes more
extensively, particularly in areas requiring predictive analytics and project scheduling. This suggests
a more technical application of AI in their enterprises. Conclusions: These findings contribute
to understanding gender-specific approaches to AI in enterprises and their subsequent effects on
employee engagement. 10. Artificial Intelligence software adoption in manufacturing companiesKlemen Kovič, Polona Tominc, Jasna Prester, Iztok Palčič, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study investigates the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) software in manufacturing companies in Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia, and across six production areas. This research ad-dresses a gap in the literature regarding AI software implementation in relation to company size, technology intensity and supply chain role, and examines whether Industry 4.0 (I4.0) readiness influences AI adoption. Data from the European Manufacturing Survey 2022 were analyzed, and showed that the use of AI is still relatively low. On average only 18.4% of companies use AI software in at least one production area. Logistic regression analysis revealed that neither company size nor role in the supply chain or technology intensity are statistically significantly related to AI usage. However, a significant positive relationship was found between I4.0 readiness and AI adoption, suggesting that companies with advanced digital infrastructures and integrated cyber-physical systems are more likely to adopt AI. This finding underlines the importance of digital transformation for the integration of AI software. The study concludes that while company characteristics such as size and the role of the company in the supply chain are not statistically significantly related to the use of AI, the level of digital readiness is crucial.
