Italian dictionaries of abbreviations and the preparation of entries of the Italian-Slovene dictionary of abbreviationsMojca Kompara Lukančič, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The present article addresses the two contemporary Italian dictionaries of abbrevia-tions Malossini (1999) and Righini (2001) and outlines the position of the Italian abbreviations in some other Italian dictionaries, namely the monolingual Zingarelli (2000) and Garzanti (2021) and bilingual Slovene-Italian (Šlenc 2006) and Italian-Slovene (Šlenc 1997). The aim of the paper is to give an insight into the compilation of the abbreviation dictionary entries in monolingual Italian, bilingual in tandem with the Slovene language and specialised abbreviation dictionaries; highlight the elements present within the dictionary entries; present the deficiencies in compiling and exam-ples of good practice; with the aim of introducing the outcomes in the compilation of the bilingual Italian-Slovene dictionary entries of the Slovene Contemporary Dictionary of Abbreviations. Within the paper we present the composition of the bilingual dictionary entries giving the reader an insight into the elements of the dictionary entry, namely the usage of language and field qualifi-ers, articulated prepositions, i.e. preposizioni articolate (composed of prepositions and definite articles), official translations and additional descriptions. 2. Analiza pomena in znanja italijanskega jezika pri turističnih ponudnikih Posavja : magistrsko deloTanja Hlebec, 2023, magistrsko delo Opis: Italija je eden izmed najpomembnejših emitivnih trgov za Slovenijo, zato smo želeli raziskati, kakšen pomen turistični ponudniki Posavja pripisujejo znanju tujih jezikov, in preveriti, kako komunicirajo s tujimi turisti na splošno ter kako poteka komunikacija z italijanskimi turisti. V nalogi smo predstavili tržni profil Italije in z raziskavo ugotovili, kako sta prilagojeni ponudba in komunikacija za italijanske turiste ter na katerih področjih se lahko turistični ponudniki Posavja izboljšajo, kar bi posledično prispevalo k večji kakovosti občin in cele regije. V današnjem času globalizacije in nenehnih sprememb je pomembno, da se posamezniki ter podjetja jezikovno in kulturno prilagajajo, saj imajo tako več možnosti za uspešnost pri poslovanju. Na osnovi raziskave, ki smo jo izvedli v sklopu naloge, smo poskušali oblikovati priporočila za turistične ponudnike, kako naj bi v prihodnosti izboljšali svojo komunikacijo v italijanskem jeziku. 3. Introduction of movement Into classes of the Italian language and an analysis of the most common linguistic issuesMojca Kompara Lukančič, Darija Omrčen, 2021, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The aim of the paper was to address the concept of movement and its introduction into tertiary education in classes of the Italian language during COVID-19 times. In the paper we address the importance of introducing movement in language learning giving an insight to the presence of physical activity in educational curricula where examples of good practice are presented. The paper focuses on the concept of language acquisition with the preparation of video resources and how such concept can benefit movement and avoid sedentarism in tertiary education. The survey was composed of an experiment where students from the Faculty of Tourism, University of Maribor prepared videos in the Italian language as part of their study requirements. In this research 14 three-minute-long videos were analysed in terms of language usage and the most common linguistic issues are presented. 5. 6. Active and Inclusive Teaching of Literacy and Communication Skills for Enhanced Employment and Sustainable Economic Growth2023 Opis: The monograph presents a part of the research work within the project "Active and Inclusive Teaching of Literacy and Communication Skills for Enhanced Employment and Sustainable Economic Growth (In-Comm Guide)," and underscores the significance of communication skills for both business success and personal development. These skills are deemed essential not only in academic achievements but also in the professional realm, with employers actively seeking them in prospective candidates. The monograph emerges as a product of the Erasmus+ initiative – the project was supported by the European Union and overseen by the Slovenian national agency CMEPIUS. Encompassing a consortium of institutions including the University of Maribor, University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, University of Pula, and University of Udine, the project aimed to develop communication skills curricula. This focus sought to bolster students' readiness for the job market while emphasizing non-verbal communication, sign languages, and linguistic proficiency, particularly in English. Within the monograph, the emphasis on innovative teaching methodologies, intercultural communication, and students' well-being converge. 7. Bilingualism in Slovenian Istria : Studies and Issues in Its PreservationMojca Kompara Lukančič, Nives Lenassi, Sandro Paolucci, 2023 Opis: The volume starts with an overview chapter of studies on bilingualism and bilingual individuals in general, and the particular aspects and characteristics of bilingualism in Slovenian Istria. It continues with three chapters focusing on Italian in the bilingual area of the Slovenian coast. The second chapter presents surveys on the position of bilingualism, the influence of Italian media, the results of the secondary school leaving exams in Italian, and the status of bilingualism in Slovenian schools in the bilingual Littoral communities. The third chapter offers an analysis of texts and documents translated from Slovenian into Italian; that is, bilingual texts available on the websites of the four bilingual municipalities: Koper, Izola, Piran, and Ankaran. The final chapter presents some detailed aspects of studies carried out on administrative texts of the bilingual municipalities, focusing on selected lexical units and acronyms, and offering translation solutions that guarantee and preserve minority rights and offer uniform terminology. 9. Pomen znanja italijanskega jezika v Posavju za zaposlene v turizmu : diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študijaLusinda Petrišič, 2021, diplomsko delo Opis: V zaključnem delu smo obravnavali slovensko pokrajino Posavje, ki postaja s svojimi šestimi občinami ter bogato naravno in kulturno dediščino vse bolj priljubljena počitniška destinacija italijanskih turistov. V teoretičnem delu smo opisali turizem v pokrajini, predstavili turistične projekte in programe ter se podrobneje osredinili na obiskanost destinacije po številkah. Predstavili smo turistično-informativne centre Posavja in poudarili primere dobrih praks slovenske Istre. V nadaljevanju smo se posvetili jezikom, pomenu znanja tujih jezikov, predvsem pa pomenu italijanskega jezika in njegovemu položaju v slovenski Istri. V empiričnem delu smo na podlagi intervjujev, ki smo jih opravili s predstavnicami turistično-informativnih centrov Posavja, pri orisu položaja italijanskega jezika v Posavju uporabili kvalitativno metodo raziskovanja. V nadaljevanju smo se osredinili na položaj italijanskega jezika med bodočimi turističnimi delavci, in sicer študenti in študentkami Fakultete za turizem Univerze v Mariboru, ter predstavili raziskave. Misli in izsledke smo strnili ter jih predstavili v zaključku.
