Obravnava manjših kiparskih figurativnih del in lastne kiparske refleksije

Opis: Prve manjše kiparske upodobitve človeške figure, ki jih imenujemo tudi figurine, so bile najdene že v prazgodovinskih časih. V različnih svetovnih kulturah so se figurine razlikovale glede na posamezno tradicijo. Z uporabo opisovalne metode so v nalogi opredeljeni pojmi kiparstvo, mala plastika, figura in figurina, hkrati pa je raziskovana in analizirana predstavnost male kiparske figure kot motiva skozi zgodovino likovne umetnosti. Na podlagi knjige »500 Figures in Clay« so podrobno predstavljene značilnosti sodobne figurativne male plastike iz gline. V povezavi z glino so predstavljene tehnike in načini modeliranja, ponazorjene pa so tudi prednosti in pomanjkljivosti procesov modeliranja, najdenih v knjižnih in spletnih virih. V zadnjem delu naloge so v obliki kratkih refleksij predstavljena figurativna dela dveh sodobnih avtorjev. Refleksije del so zapisane v skladu z raziskano vsebino iz naloge, nato pa je pozornost usmerjena tudi k predstavitvi lastnih izdelkov iz gline, ki so vključeni ob koncu naloge.

Comparative study of hydrothermal decomposition of virgin and recycled polypropylene

Opis: Plastics are widely used due to their versatile properties and numerous applications. However, the proper management of plastic waste is a major challenge, even though it is recyclable. The process of repeated recycling can cause the quality of the material to decrease as unwanted contaminants and pollutants increase. This can affect the chemical recycling of plastics at the end of their life and the recovery of secondary products that can be used in other applications. In this study, the chemical degradation of virgin polypropylene (vPP) and recycled polypropylene (rPP) was investigated in supercritical water at a temperature of 450 °C and a reaction time of 15 to 240 min. The oil phase was the primary decomposition product and was obtained in high yield, which reached a maximum after 30 min of reaction time and was 96.9 % for vPP and 94.5 % for rPP. The results of our study show that there are some differences in the product composition depending on which material (vPP or rPP) is chemically recycled.

A comparative study of virtual microscopy versus traditional microscopy for introduction into the histology curriculum at a Faculty of Medicine

Opis: Purpose: We currently employ traditional microscopy with glass slides for teaching purposes. Here, we performed a pilot survey on the potential implementation of virtual microscopy. Experienced peer tutors were asked to participate in the evaluation of virtual microscopy versus traditional microscopy. Our main objectives were to determine: whether there is a statistically significant difference in time to locating a structure on a glass slide versus a virtual slide, the possible advantages and disadvantages of each microscopy method, and the benefits of virtual microscopy over traditional microscopy (1-3). Methods: Glass slides were scanned with the Aperio ScanScope CS slide scanner for use as virtual slides. Peer tutors were asked to locate the same structures on each glass slide and the corresponding virtual slides. Times needed to locate these structures were individually measured, and a question- naire (a modified and translated version of the College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University virtual microscopy survey) on the advantages of practical use of virtual microscopy provided at the end. Results: One sample t-test showed significant differences (p<0.01) in mean time to locate a structure on glass (23.0s) versus virtual slides (12.5s). In commentaries, peer tutors reported a preference for a combination of traditional and virtual microscopy in practical sessions. Conclusions: Assessors considered virtual microscopy easy to use. Time needed to locate a structure on virtual slides was significantly shorter. After additional surveys, we envisage successful implementation of virtual microscopy in conjunction with traditional microscopy in the histology curriculum.

Advance analysis of the obtained recycled materials from used disposable surgical masks

Opis: The production of personal protective equipment (PPE) has increased dramatically in recent years, not only because of the pandemic, but also because of stricter legislation in the field of Employee Protection. The increasing use of PPE, including disposable surgical masks (DSMs), is putting additional pressure on waste collectors. For this reason, it is necessary to find high-quality solutions for this type of waste. Mechanical recycling is still the most common type of recycling, but the recyclates are often classified as low-grade materials. For this reason, a detailed analysis of the recyclates is necessary. These data will help us to improve the properties and find the right end application that will increase the value of the materials. This work represents an extended analysis of the recyclates obtained from DSMs, manufactured from different polymers. Using surface and morphology tests, we have gained insights into the distribution of different polymers in polymer blends and their effects on mechanical and surface properties. It was found that the addition of ear loop material to the PP melt makes the material tougher. In the polymer blends obtained, PP and PA 6 form the surface (affects surface properties), while PU and PET are distributed mainly inside the injection-molded samples.

Determination of shear bond strength between PEEK composites and veneering composites for the production of dental restorations

Opis: We studied the shear bond strength (SBS) of two PEEK composites (BioHPP, BioHPP plus) with three veneering composites: Visio.lign, SR Nexco and VITA VM LC, depending on the surface treatment: untreated, sandblasted with 110 μm Al2O3, sandblasted and cleaned ultrasonically in 80% ethanol, with or without adhesive Visio.link, with applied Visio.link and MKZ primer. For the BioHPP plus, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) revealed a slightly lower glass transition temperature (Tg 150.4 ± 0.4 °C) and higher melting temperature (Tm 339.4 ± 0.6 °C) than those of BioHPP (Tg 151.3 ± 1.3 °C, Tm 338.7 ± 0.2 °C). The dynamical mechanical analysis (DMA) revealed a slightly higher storage modulus of BioHPP (E’ 4.258 ± 0.093 GPa) than of BioHPP plus (E′ 4.193 ± 0.09 GPa). The roughness was the highest for the untreated BioHPP plus, and the lowest for the polished BioHPP. The highest hydrophobicity was achieved on the sandblasted BioHPP plus, whereas the highest hydrophilicity was found on the untreated BioHPP. The highest SBSs were determined for BioHPP and Visio.lign, adhesive Visio.link (26.31 ± 4.17 MPa) or MKZ primer (25.59 ± 3.17 MPa), with VITA VM LC, MKZ primer and Visio.link (25.51 ± 1.94 MPa), and ultrasonically cleaned, with Visio.link (26.28 ± 2.94 MPa). For BioHPP plus, the highest SBS was determined for a sandblasted surface, cleaned ultrasonically, with the SR Nexco and Visio.link (23.39 ± 2.80 MPa).

Izgradnja nove transformatorske postaje Varpolje Kamp Menina : diplomsko delo

Opis: V diplomskem delu smo se osredotočili na predstavitev, načrtovanje in izdelavo nove transformatorske postaje Varpolje Kamp Menina s priključnim 20 kV kablovodom in nizkonapetostnim kabelskim izvodom. Nova transformatorska postaja se gradi zaradi širitve dejavnosti v Kampu Menina in premajhne razpoložljive priključne moči na že obstoječem nizkonapetostnem kabelskem izvodu ter neekonomičnosti izgradnje nizkonapetostnega kablovoda. S tem bi zagotovili boljše napetostne razmere in več priključne moči za obstoječe in predvidene uporabnike ter izboljšali kakovost oskrbe z električno energijo na tem območju.
