Building organisational sustainability during the COVID-19 pandemic with an inspiring work environment

Opis: This article aims to analyse significant differences in four constructs: occupational stress, job satisfaction, work engagement, and work productivity among employees before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the paper is to develop a multidimensional model with these four constructs and analyse the differences in the strength of their effects on the model across two intersectional times: before the COVID-19 pandemic and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was implemented on a sample of 885 employees in Slovenian organisations. During COVID-19, Slovenia had one of the strictest lockdowns. Based on the research, we can confirm significant differences in the four analysed constructs among employees before COVID-19 and during COVID-19. Based on the results, we can confirm that occupational stress had a more negative effect on job satisfaction and work engagement during COVID-19 than before prior to it. Our research and conclusions highlight the measures with which organisations can reduce the problem of occupational stress and with which organisations can increase job satisfaction, work engagement and work productivity among employees during COVID-19. Based on this, organisations may be able to build a more supportive work environment during, and after, COVID-19.

Agonistic interactions between littermates reappear after mixing multiple litters at weaning in pigs

Opis: Weaning involves mixing of unfamiliar litters and is accompanied by an outbreak of aggression, which is usually attributed to between-litter (BL) interactions. In the present study, we thus focused on post-weaning agonism (fighting and mounting) between littermates (within-litter, WL). Two litters were weaned into two pens separated by an empty pen and connected by narrow passages that were opened 24 h after weaning. WL interactions accounted for 38% and 68% of all fights and mounts, respectively, during a 7-day experimental period. After the passages were opened, not only BL, but also WL interactions increased significantly (by 6- to 7-fold on the first day of mixing). WL fights then gradually decreased, while WL mounts continued to increase. During the experimental period, the proportion of both WL fights and mounts decreased. The majority of WL fights (%80%) and mounts (%65%) occurred in home pens. A significantly higher percentage of draws was found in WL fights (50% of initiator wins and 41% of draws) compared to BL fights (80% of initiator wins and 11% of draws). Results also showed less asymmetry in the body weight of piglets involved in WL interactions. Mixing of litters at weaning was shown to involve not only intense interactions between unfamiliar piglets but also the recurrence of agonistic interactions between littermates, which is something we should keep in mind when pursuing the highest standards of weaner welfare.

Vpliv internega marketinga na delovno izgorelost zaposlenih, delovno zavzetost zaposlenih in pohvale na delovnem mestu v slovenskih podjetjih

Opis: Interni marketing postaja eden izmed ključnih marketinških strategij podjetij. Podjetja z vlaganjem v svoje zaposlene na način, da usposabljajo in razvijajo njihove spretnosti ter sposobnosti, vplivajo na to, da so njihovi zaposleni motivirani za dobro opravljanje svojega dela. Tako torej interni marketing obravnava svoje zaposlene kot interne odjemalce, s katerimi poskuša podjetje vzpostaviti proces menjave in na ta način vplivati na zadovoljstvo svojih zaposlenih. V preteklosti in še danes raziskovalci dajejo vse večji poudarek prav tako na delovno izgorelost zaposlenih, ki se med njimi vse bolj pojavlja, zaradi prevelikega stresa ter delovnih obremenitev na delovnem mestu. V zvezi s tem sta povezani tudi delovna zavzetost zaposlenih in pohvale na delovnem mestu, ki na drugi strani pozitivno vplivajo na produktivnost ter pozitivne odnose. Magistrsko delo je sestavljeno iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela. V teoretičnem delu smo opredelili interni marketing, zapisali razsežnosti oz. dimenzije internega marketinga in vpliv internega marketinga na kakovost storitev. Poleg tega smo opredelili delovno izgorelost zaposlenih, proučili dejavnike, ki vplivajo na delovno izgorelost, simptome in posledice delovne izgorelosti ter preprečevanje in odpravljanje delovne izgorelosti. Prav tako smo opredelili delovno zavzetost zaposlenih, zapisali posledice in razsežnosti delovne zavzetosti zaposlenih, dejavnike, ki vplivajo na delovno zavzetost zaposlenih ter proučili krepitev delovne zavzetosti zaposlenih. Kot zadnje smo še opredelili pohvale na delovnem mestu in proučili izražanje pohval na delovnem mestu. V empiričnem delu smo raziskovali, ali so zaposleni v Slovenskih podjetjih delovno izgoreli in delovno zavzeti. Poleg tega smo raziskovali, ali interni marketing vpliva na delovno izgorelost zaposlenih, delovno zavzetost zaposlenih in na pohvale na delovnem mestu. Vse pridobljene podatke smo pridobili s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, ki je bil objavljen na socialnem omrežju Facebook, poleg tega pa smo spletni naslov anketnega vprašalnika poslali naključno izbranim anketirancem. Rezultati kažejo, da zaposleni v slovenskih podjetjih niso delovno izgoreli. Poleg tega smo ugotovili, da so zaposleni v slovenskih podjetjih delovno zavzeti, saj smo zastavljeno hipotezo delno potrdili. Ugotavljamo še, da interni marketing delno vpliva na delovno izgorelost zaposlenih, delovno zavzetost zaposlenih in na pohvale na delovnem mestu, saj smo vse tri hipoteze delno potrdili.

Education of refugee children within the INTREF project framework

Opis: Amidst growing migratory movements and hurdles of assimilation, the INTREF initiative strives to craft a comprehensive strategy for the schooling of refugee children, melding e-learning, emotional and social support, along with adaptable teaching methods. This endeavor learns on principles like linguistic diversity, cross-cultural skills, and customizing the educational journey, crucial for assimilation and triumph within academic settings. Studies indicate the indispensability of bespoke linguistic assistance, cognizance of cultural variances, and personalized educational tactics for the seamless school transition and societal assimilation of children in refuge. The project devised a survey instrument aimed at evaluating the baseline educational scenario in the participating nations and formulating education plans tailored to specific needs. This survey zeroes on four pivotal areas: linguistic proficiency, cross-cultural consciousness, embracing diversity, and pedagogical customization. Feedback from 31 students, 30 teachers and 28 parents revealed a pressing need for augmented linguistic aid in Slovenia, heightened cross-cultural understanding, and classroom method modification to enrich the academic experiences of culturally diverse children. The findings also underscore a discernible discrepancy between the perspectives of educators versus those of parents and children. The insights from this survey lay the groundwork for creating innovative instructional units and resources, finely adapted to the needs of children in refuge. By forging links between theoretical insights and practical application, as well as among various educational stakeholders, INTREF is ready to enrich the discourse and practices surrounding inclusivity, and endeavor made increasingly pertinent by the recent global disruptions, including the migratory dilemma and the COVID-19 outbreak.

Kako s konceptom pametnega mesta izboljšati kvaliteto življenja v mestu Banja Luka : diplomsko delo

Opis: Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na koncept pametnega mesta in njegovo potencialno vlogo pri izboljšanju kakovosti življenja v Banja Luki. Pametna mesta so urbanistični koncepti, ki izkoriščajo informacijsko-tehnološke inovacije za optimizacijo javnih storitev, prometa, okolja in infrastrukture, kar vodi k učinkovitejšemu, trajnostnemu in prijaznejšemu mestnemu okolju za prebivalce. V raziskovalnem delu se analizira, kako bi vpeljava koncepta pametnega mesta lahko reševala ključne izzive Banja Luke, kot so prometna preobremenjenost, onesnaženje okolja, učinkovita poraba energije in javnih virov ter krepitev gospodarskega razvoja. Cilj raziskave je predlagati konkretne ukrepe in strategije za implementacijo koncepta pametnega mesta v Banja Luki. Rezultati raziskovalnega dela ponujajo vpogled v potencialne koristi in izzive vpeljave pametnih rešitev v Banja Luki ter nudijo smernice za nadaljnje ukrepanje v smeri izboljšanja kakovosti življenja in razvoja mesta.

Uporaba sistemskega pristopa v logistiki in oskrbovalnih verigah : diplomsko delo

Opis: V logistiki sistemski pristop omogoča izboljšanje učinkovitosti z obravnavanjem celotne oskrbovalne verige kot sistema. To vključuje analizo vseh delov logističnega sistema in njihovega medsebojnega delovanja, kar omogoča natančno določanje področij, kjer je potrebna optimizacija. Kljub težavam pri standardizaciji vrednotenja zaradi raznolikosti logističnih sistemov je pristop ključen za reševanje izzivov v sodobnih kompleksnih okoljih. Priporočila vključujejo integracijo sistemskega razmišljanja v logistiko ter poglobljeno analizo in implementacijo pristopa za boljše reševanje zapletenih situacij v prihodnosti. Sistemski pristop pomaga pri poslovanju logistike in pripomore k boljši organizaciji oskrbovalnih verig ter je ključnega pomena za uspešno upravljanje sodobnih organizacij.

Innovative professional learning communities and sustainable education practices through digital transformation

Opis: Education is the most important part of sustainable society development. Traditional approaches to permanent lifelong educator training often fail to produce lasting changes in teaching practices (UN, Goal 4). This paper examines how educator involvement in a professional learning community (PLC) ensures equitable quality education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities for all and a sustainable digital transformation of the teaching and learning process. Participation in PLC and the use of contemporary learning environments positively impact the quality of educators’ work, thereby enhancing the overall educational process. This study utilised a quantitative methodology, employing both descriptive and inferential statistics to analyse the data. Results indicate that a balanced integration of formal PLC structures and guidance, combined with elements of a non-formal, broader PLC and external incentives and support (such as projects), can surpass mere exchanges of best practices, foster innovation, and support the sustainable digital transformation of educators. This approach leads to a sustainable shift in pedagogical paradigms. The PLC_IP model (focused on including digital technologies and effective teaching strategies) enhances collective educator efficacy, contributing to improved teaching quality. For PLCs to achieve sustainability, they must be dynamic entities that adapt to the evolving educational landscape, ensuring their continued relevance and impact with rising completion rates over time. Our findings underscore the importance of innovative PLCs in driving sustainable educational development and improvement and provide a framework for future research and practical applications in educational settings. In addition, PLCs can strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development (UN, Goal 17).

Organizacija dela v drogeriji in optimizacija procesa polnjenja polic : diplomsko delo

Opis: Zaključno delo se osredotoča na optimizacijo delovnih procesov v drogeriji, s posebnim poudarkom na organizaciji polnjenja polic. V okviru analize smo preučili obstoječe postopke in raziskali različne priložnosti za izboljšave, vključno s preureditvijo skladiščnih prostorov in standardizacijo delovnih postopkov. Ugotovitve kažejo, da je z optimizacijo teh procesov mogoče bistveno zmanjšati nepotrebne premike prodajalk, skrajšati čas polnjenja polic ter izboljšati celotno organizacijo dela. Predlagane rešitve vključujejo uvedbo novih regalov za boljše skladiščenje, preureditev skladišča, izboljšano pripravo vozičkov ter učinkovitejše načine polnjenja polic. Poleg tega bo uvedba tehnologij, kot so samopostrežni terminali, razbremenila prodajalke pri rutinskih nalogah. S temi rešitvami se bo bistveno povečala učinkovitost dela, kar bo prispevalo k boljšemu poslovanju drogerije.
