Survey of inter-prediction methods for time-varying mesh compressionJan Dvořák, Filip Hácha, Gerasimos Arvanitis, David Podgorelec, Konstantinos Moustakas, Libor Váša, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Time-varying meshes (TVMs), that is mesh sequences with varying connectivity, are a greatly versatile representation of shapesevolving in time, as they allow a surface topology to change or details to appear or disappear at any time during the sequence.This, however, comes at the cost of large storage size. Since 2003, there have been attempts to compress such data efficiently. Whilethe problem may seem trivial at first sight, considering the strong temporal coherence of shapes represented by the individualframes, it turns out that the varying connectivity and the absence of implicit correspondence information that stems from itmakes it rather difficult to exploit the redundancies present in the data. Therefore, efficient and general TVM compression is stillconsidered an open problem. We describe and categorize existing approaches while pointing out the current challenges in thefield and hint at some related techniques that might be helpful in addressing them. We also provide an overview of the reportedperformance of the discussed methods and a list of datasets that are publicly available for experiments. Finally, we also discusspotential future trends in the field. 2. Vpliv industrije 4.0 na logistikoFilip Dvorak, 2020, diplomsko delo Opis: ndustrija 4.0, ki jo poznamo tudi pod imenom četrta industrijska revolucija, je danes neizogibna tema tako v poslovnem svetu kot tudi v vsakdanjem življenju, saj vpliva na celotne panoge ter spreminja način oblikovanja in izdelave produktov, dostave in plačila blaga. Gre za povezovanje digitalnega in fizičnega sveta, ki ga omogočajo nove tehnologije. V vsakdanjem življenju smo tem tehnologijam že izpostavljeni ali pa za njih slišimo preko modnih besed kot so “internet stvari“, “računalništvo v oblaku“, “agumentirana realnost“, “pametne tovarne“ in podobno. Namen diplomskega projekta je predstaviti industrijo 4.0, razumeti njene gradnike ter to smiselno povezati z področjem logistike. Dobavne verige, zaradi vse večjih zahtev potrošnikov, postajajo vedno bolj kompleksne in zahtevnejše za obvladovati in nadzirati. Industirja 4.0 bo imela pozitivne vplive na določene logistične procese, saj bo pravilna uporaba novih tehnologij pripomogla k večji učinkovitosti in optimizaciji vsakdanjih procesov. Posledično pa prinesla večjo dodano vrednost končnim potrošnikom. Videli bomo, da se določena podjetja temu že intenzivno prilagajajo in uživajo v njenih koristih. 3. Sustainability and sustainability marketing in competing for the title of European Capital of CultureValentina Burksiene, Jaroslav Dvorak, Gabriele Burbulyte-Tsiskarishvili, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background and Purpose: An analysis of the dimension of sustainability in the context of competing for the title of the European Capital of Culture (ECoC) is included in the article. The authors of the research agree that the proper integration of cultural policy into the social system impacts and changes cultural values and beliefs, shifting them towards sustainable behaviour and sustainability. Many authors analyse the interrelation between culture and sustainability, thus defining the role of culture for sustainability. However, few discuss possible approaches or tools, which may offer assistance in the matter of how to reach sustainability in the context of culture.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Research is based on the comparative analysis of the applications of the respective cities. The TBL methodology is implemented using the content analysis method as a tool. The outcomes of the content analysis are then used for the elaboration of the qualitative multi-attribute model using the DEX methodology.
Results: While analysing bidding documents for the ECoC we: a) define the importance of the marketing plan (described as a comprehensive action) and b) argue that ECoC marketing needs to be turned to “sustainability marketing” as it is described and defined by many authors.
Conclusions: The ECoC Commission should consider the importance of culture for sustainable development and, respectively, should evaluate the marketing plan of applicants under the sustainability framework.
