2. Comparative Study of GPR Acquisition Methods for Shallow Buried Object DetectionPrimož Smogavec, Blaž Pongrac, Andrej Sarjaš, Venceslav Kafedziski, Nabojša Dončov, Dušan Gleich, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper investigates the use of ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technology for detecting shallow buried objects, utilizing an air-coupled stepped frequency continuous wave (SFCW) radar system that operates within a 2 GHz bandwidth starting at 500 MHz. Different GPR data acquisition methods for air-coupled systems are compared, specifically down-looking, side-looking, and circular acquisition strategies, employing the back projection algorithm to provide focusing of the acquired GPR data. Experimental results showed that the GPR can penetrate up to 0.6 m below the surface in a down-looking mode. The developed radar and the back projection focusing algorithm were used to acquire data in the side-looking and circular mode, providing focused images with a resolution of 0.1 m and detecting subsurface objects up to 0.3 m below the surface. The proposed approach transforms B-scans of the GPR-based data into 2D images. The provided approach has significant potential for advancing shallow object detection capabilities by transforming hyperbola-based features into point-like features. 3. Changes in the extracellular matrix in endometrial and cervical cancer : a systematic reviewTjaša Padežnik, Anja Oleksy, Andrej Cokan, Iztok Takač, Monika Sobočan, 2023, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Endometrial and cervical cancers are the two most common gynaecological malignancies and among the leading causes of death worldwide. The extracellular matrix (ECM) is an important component of the cellular microenvironment and plays an important role in developing and regulating normal tissues and homeostasis. The pathological dynamics of the ECM contribute to several different processes such as endometriosis, infertility, cancer, and metastasis. Identifying changes in components of ECM is crucial for understanding the mechanisms of cancer development and its progression. We performed a systematic analysis of publications on the topic of changes in the extracellular matrix in cervical and endometrial cancer. The findings of this systematic review show that matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) play an important role impacting tumour growth in both types of cancer. MMPs degrade various specific substrates (collagen, elastin, fibronectin, aggrecan, fibulin, laminin, tenascin, vitronectin, versican, nidogen) and play a crucial role in the basal membrane degradation and ECM components. Similar types of MMPs were found to be increased in both cancers, namely, MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-9, and MMP-11. Elevated concentrations of MMP-2 and MMP-9 were correlated with the FIGO stage and are associated with poor prognosis in endometrial cancer, whereas in cervical cancer, elevated concentrations of MMP-9 have been associated with a better outcome. Elevated ADAMTS levels were found in cervical cancer tissues. Elevated disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs (ADAMTS) levels were also found in endometrial cancer, but their role is still unclear. Following these findings, this review reports on tissue inhibitors of ECM enzymes, MMPs, and ADAMTS. The present review demonstrates changes in the extracellular matrix in cervical and endometrial cancers and compared their effect on cancer development, progression, and patient prognosis. 4. Determination of neutron flux redistribution factors for a typical pressurized water reactor ex-core measurements using Monte Carlo techniqueTanja Goričanec, Bor Kos, Klemen Ambrožič, Andrej Trkov, Luka Snoj, Marjan Kromar, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In a typical pressurized water reactor, neutron detectors located outside the reactor core monitor reactor power. In addition, they are also used to measure the reactivity of the control rods. A novel approach to calculate the ex-core neutron detector response in a typical pressurized water reactor using the Monte Carlo technique is presented. A detailed ex-core model of the Krško nuclear power plant was developed using the Monte Carlo neutron transport code MCNP. Due to the location of the ex-core neutron detectors, the hybrid code ADVANTG is used to generate variance reduction parameters to accelerte the convergence of the results outside the reactor core. To use ADVANTG, the fixed neutron source had to be reconstructed from the criticality core calculation. This paper presents the sensitivity analysis of the response of the ex-core detectors to the neutron data libraries used, the description of the fixed neutron source and the ADVANTG parameters. It was found that a pin-wise description of the neutron source for at least two rows of fuel assemblies at the core periphery is necessary for accurate results. Our results show the importance of a correct description of the prompt neutron spectra in the high energy region and the impact this has on the response of the ex-core detectors. The method in which the prompt neutron fission spectra for important fission nuclides are weighted by the calculated reaction rates has been shown to be the best approximation, with deviations from the reference calculation within statistical uncertainty. The effect of nuclear data libraries on the response of the ex-core detector was investigated, and the difference between the ENDF/B-VII.0 and the ENDF/B-VIII.0 nuclear data libraries was ∼11%. When the deficient evaluation of the 56Fe isotope included in the ENDF/B-VIII.0 nuclear data library was replaced by the improved evaluation from the IAEA INDEN project, the differences decreased to ∼3.7%. In addition, neutron flux redistributions due to control rod movement were investigated and flux redistribution factors were updated using Monte Carlo particle transport methods. The reaction rate redistribution factors obtained with methods presented in this paper are within 1% agreement with the currently used factors. 5. Innovative professional learning communities and sustainable education practices through digital transformationMaja Vičič Krabonja, Simona Kustec, Vesna Skrbinjek, Boris Aberšek, Andrej Flogie, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Education is the most important part of sustainable society development. Traditional
approaches to permanent lifelong educator training often fail to produce lasting changes in teaching
practices (UN, Goal 4). This paper examines how educator involvement in a professional learning
community (PLC) ensures equitable quality education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities
for all and a sustainable digital transformation of the teaching and learning process. Participation in
PLC and the use of contemporary learning environments positively impact the quality of educators’
work, thereby enhancing the overall educational process. This study utilised a quantitative methodology, employing both descriptive and inferential statistics to analyse the data. Results indicate
that a balanced integration of formal PLC structures and guidance, combined with elements of a
non-formal, broader PLC and external incentives and support (such as projects), can surpass mere
exchanges of best practices, foster innovation, and support the sustainable digital transformation
of educators. This approach leads to a sustainable shift in pedagogical paradigms. The PLC_IP
model (focused on including digital technologies and effective teaching strategies) enhances collective
educator efficacy, contributing to improved teaching quality. For PLCs to achieve sustainability, they
must be dynamic entities that adapt to the evolving educational landscape, ensuring their continued
relevance and impact with rising completion rates over time. Our findings underscore the importance
of innovative PLCs in driving sustainable educational development and improvement and provide a
framework for future research and practical applications in educational settings. In addition, PLCs
can strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable

6. Nadgradnja ogrevalnega sistema z internetom stvariBranko Zebec, 2024, magistrsko delo Opis: Magistrsko delo vsebuje analizo in razvoj prototipa za nadgradnjo ogrevalnega sistema, pri katerem smo sledili dvema ciljema: povezati ogrevalni sistem v internetno omrežje s pomočjo tehnologije interneta stvari in optimizirati ogrevalni sistema. Za dosego ciljev smo raziskali vse potrebne tehnologije, programska orodja in strojno opremo. Pri implementaciji smo uporabili programsko platformo Home Assistant, s katero smo razvili glavni krmilnik na strojni opremi Raspberry Pi 4. V okviru platforme Home Assistant smo integrirali dodatna programska orodja: Cloudflare za vzpostavitev varne povezave na oblačni strežnik in s tem ustvarjanje varnega tunela do glavnega krmilnika, Node-RED, s katerim smo razvili programsko kodo za povezavo z napravami Modbus in optimizacijo sistema vključno s PID krmilnikom, InfluxDB za bazo podatkov vseh spremenljivk našega ogrevalnega sistema, Grafano za vizualizacijo podatkov iz baze, Google SDK za integracijo Googlovega pomočnika na Home Assistant. Na krmilnik smo povezali naprave prek protokola Modbus TCP/IP (angl. Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol): Daikin krmilnik za dostop do toplotne črpalke Daikin Altherma HT, Siemens sobni termostat. Za spremljanje porabe električne energije smo razvili merilnik porabe na modulu ESP32, ki smo ga povezali na kontakte S0 analognega števca. Programsko kodo C++ smo povzeli in prilagodili ter povezali prek protokola MQTT na Home Assistant. Razvili smo tudi simulacijski model, s pomočjo katerega smo preverjali nastavitve PID krmilnika. S statistično analizo smo preverili, ali so podatki po optimizaciji sistema resnično potrdili pričakovane rezultate glede zmanjšanja porabe električne energije, manjšega vtoka ogrevalne vode ter sprememb sobne temperature. Prototip smo preverjali v celotnem ogrevalnem obdobju, le-ta je deloval zanesljivo brez izpadov. Za oddaljeni dostop smo uporabljali Home Assistant pomočnika in Googlovega pomočnika. Optimizacija ogrevalnega sistema se je izkazala za zelo uspešno, kar smo potrdili z meritvami spremenljivk, predvsem porabe električne energije. Ugotovili smo, da se v prehodnem obdobju ogrevanja poraba znatno zmanjša. Na podlagi tega smo prepričani, da bomo na dolgi rok podaljšali življenjsko dobo toplotne črpalke ter prispevali k trajnostni naravnanosti našega sistema ogrevanja. 8. Študija ravnanja z viški materialov v času gradnje HE Suhadol, HE Trbovlje in HE Renke na srednji Savi : magistrsko deloJernej Jevševar, 2024, magistrsko delo Opis: V magistrskem delu smo na podlagi konkretnega projekta izgradnje treh hidroelektrarn na srednji Savi prikazali problematiko gospodarjenja z viški izkopnih materialov ter na osnovi raziskav in ugotovitev oblikovali konceptualni predlog rešitve, v katerem upoštevamo hierarhijo ravnanja z odpadki, pri kateri je preprečevanje nastajanja odpadkov prva prioriteta.
Pri konkretnem projektu se ocenjuje, da bo pri izvedbi zemeljskih gradbenih del nastalo 2,123 mio m3 viškov izkopnih materialov (1,643 mio m3 mineralne surovine in 0,480 mio m3 izkopanega materiala kot odpadka).
Prednostnemu vrstnemu redu hierarhije ravnanja z odpadki sledimo tako, da (znotraj zakonskih okvirov) s pridobljeno mineralno surovino ravnamo kot s stranskim proizvodom (in ne z odpadkom), ki se po plačilu koncesijske dajatve predela v nov gradbeni material z uporabnim potencialom pri gradnjah objektov. Pri ravnanju z viški izkopanega materiala kot odpadka pa upoštevamo njihovo prednostno (koristno) uporabo pri sanacijah degradiranih površin oziroma nesaniranih območij v regiji, na katerih se je v preteklosti izvajalo izkopavanje premoga.
Magistrsko delo temelji na realnem primeru izdelane dokumentacije »Študija ravnanja z viški materialov v času gradnje HE Suhadol, He Trbovlje in HE Renke na srednji Savi«, katero smo izdelali v podjetjih IBT SPI d.o.o. in PKG Šprinzer Mirko s.p. pod številko projekta 8326/22 v mesecu januarju 2023. 9. Posebnosti industrijske razsvetljave pri uporabi standarda SIST EN 12464-1:2021 in PURES 2022Mitja Kraner, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: V diplomski nalogi so v prvem delu predstavljene osnovne veličine razsvetljave in vsebina standarda SIST EN 12464-1:2021 ter spremembe, ki jih je prinesla nova verzija. V drugem delu pa je predstavljen pravilnik o učinkoviti rabi energije v stavbah PURES in pripadajoča tehnična smernica TSG-1-004, ki jo je uvedel v obvezno uporabo. Na podlagi standarda je narejen načrt razsvetljave industrijske hale, izračun energetske učinkovitosti pa je izveden po omenjeni tehnični smernici. Opisane so tudi metode izračuna energetske učinkovitosti po standardu SIST EN 15193-1:2017. Vpliv spektra svetlobe na sij nočnega nebaAljaž Šramel, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: Diplomsko delo opisuje problem svetlobnega onesnaževanja, kot tudi fizikalno ozadje za nastajanje sija nočnega neba, pri čemer temelj predstavljata Rayleighova in Miejeva teorija sipanja svetlobe. Podrobneje je opisano delovanje primerjalnega orodja SkyGlow simulator, s pomočjo katerega je izdelan model za prikaz oziroma izračun vpliva razsvetljave določenega območja razsvetljave na sij nočnega neba, pri tem pa so za izračune uporabljene različne vrste svetil in nastavljeni različni atmosferski pogoji.
