Deep learning predictive models for terminal call rate prediction during the warranty period

Opis: Background: This paper addresses the problem of products’ terminal call rate (TCR) prediction during the warranty period. TCR refers to the information on the amount of funds to be reserved for product repairs during the warranty period. So far, various methods have been used to address this problem, from discrete event simulation and time series, to machine learning predictive models. Objectives: In this paper, we address the above named problem by applying deep learning models to predict terminal call rate. Methods/Approach: We have developed a series of deep learning models on a data set obtained from a manufacturer of home appliances, and we have analysed their quality and performance. Results: Results showed that a deep neural network with 6 layers and a convolutional neural network gave the best results. Conclusions: This paper suggests that deep learning is an approach worth exploring further, however, with the disadvantage being that it requires large volumes of quality data.

Categorisation of open government data literature

Opis: Background: Due to the emerging global interest in Open Government Data, research papers on various topics in this area have increased. Objectives: This paper aims to categorise Open government data research. Methods/Approach: A literature review was conducted to provide a complete overview and classification of open government data research. Hierarchical clustering, a cluster analysis method, was used, and a hierarchy of clusters on selected data sets emerged. Results: The results of this study suggest that there are two distinct clusters of research, which either focus on government perspectives and policies on OGD, initiatives, and portals or focus on regional studies, adoption of OGD, platforms, and barriers to implementation. Further findings suggest that research gaps could be segmented into many thematic areas, focusing on success factors, best practices, the impact of open government data, barriers/challenges in implementing open government data, etc. Conclusions: The extension of the paper, which was first presented at the Entrenova conference, provides a comprehensive overview of research to date on the implementation of OGD and points out that this topic has already received research attention, which focuses on specific segments of the phenomenon and signifies in which direction new research should be made.

Opis: The forthcoming 39th International Conference on the Development of Organizational Sciences adopts the development timeline to direct the ideas of the academic and professional public to ensure our better tomorrow. Changing the image of today’s individual, society, organizations and environment requires changes in the traditional performance structures from different perspectives. Is it enough to be innovative? Is it enough to direct the action through the prism of digital technology? Organizations are at the roundabout of the intersection of human innovation, process development and information technology with technological advances, where organizations are fostering competitiveness and creating an ecosystem of digital users. Opis: Bled eConference, organized by University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, has been shaping electronic interactions since 1988. Bled eConference is the oldest, most traditional and well renowned conference in the field with more than 30 years of tradition. The theme of this year’s 32nd conference is dedicated to “Humanizing Technology for a Sustainable Society”. In 2018, European Commission emphasized that in the future, competitiveness will be dependent on the ability to move towards sustainability, resource-efficiency and the ability to exploit the advantages of digital technologies. In the context of digital society, implementation of digital technologies to achieve higher efficiency and competitive advantage is insufficient. Society calls for different economy models; more responsible, righteous and less exploitative. In this year’s conference, we address various aspects of these challenges and provide directions and guidelines for organizations to meet and overcome these challenges on their way towards successful digital transformation. Themes covered in the papers of these proceedings are focused on: digital transformation; business model innovation; blockchain and social media; big data, data science, and decision support systems; e-health, digital wellness and wellbeing; new applications and organizational models; and novel approaches and cases in education in digital economy.

Uvedba sistema za upravljanje spletnih mest v izobraževalni instituciji

Opis: Magistrska naloga obravnava problem upravljanja vse večjega števila spletnih mest v izobraževalni instituciji ob nespremenjenem podpornem kadru. Posledice so pomanjkanje časa za uvajanje novih tehnologij, slabša varnost spletnih mest, višji stroški za vzdrževanje spletnih mest ter slabša podoba organizacije na spletu. V nalogi so predstavljene tehnološke osnove upravljanja spletnih mest. Z metodo AHP je izbrana najprimernejša programska rešitev za upravljanje. Izdelan je bil načrt prenosa vseh spletnih mest izobraževalne organizacije, ki je bil realiziran z izbranim sistemom za upravljanje cPanel. Testiranje prenešenih spletnih mest je pokazalo, da v novem okolju delujejo hitreje in varneje.

Razvoj interaktivnega vmesnika za prikaz podatkov v sistemu kontrole kakovosti

Opis: Diplomsko delo obravnava razvoj interaktivnega vmesnika za prikaz podatkov v sistemu kontrole kakovosti. Opisana je izdelava grafičnega uporabniškega vmesnika, ki bi podatke prikazoval na uporabniku prijazen način ob upoštevanju trendov prihodnosti razvoja spletnih strani. Problem, ki ga rešujemo, je togost analitičnih orodij v malih in velikih organizacijah, ki bi potrebovale enostavno in modularno spletno aplikacijo za prikaz vseh pomembnih podatkov. V prvem delu diplomske naloge smo naredili pregled teoretičnih izhodišč, zatem pa smo se lotili analize spletnih portalov, ki vsebujejo napovedi za razvoj spletnih strani in tehnologij. Raziskovalni del naloge je predstavljala izdelava čelnega in zalednega dela spletne aplikacije.
