Pupal development and adult acclimation temperatures influence the cold and heat tolerance in Tenebrio molitor (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae)

Abstract: Temperature plays a crucial role in shaping the biology of insects. Developmental temperature and acclimation temperatures influence their ability to cope with extreme thermal conditions. This study investigates the effects of developmental temperatures during the pupal stage and adult acclimation temperatures on the thermal tolerance of Tenebrio molitor Linnaeus, 1758. We investigated cold tolerance based on chill-coma recovery time and heat tolerance based on heat knockdown time. Beetles were reared at five developmental temperatures (16, 21, 25, 30 and 35 °C) and later exposed to corresponding adult acclimation temperatures. From developmental temperatures of 21 and 30 °C, the group of beetles was subjected to different temperatures to induce adult acclimation at a different temperature than the developmental temperature. In cold-tolerance tests, beetles reared at lower temperatures showed better recovery from chill coma, while beetles reared at higher temperatures showed greater resistance to heat shock. Adult beetles acclimated to lower temperatures showed better cold tolerance, while those acclimated to higher temperatures performed better in the heat tolerance test. Interestingly, the developmental temperatures during the pupal stage also contributed to resistance, particularly in the heat tolerance test. However, pupal stage temperatures had no effect on cold-shock resistance, as indicated by chill-coma recovery time. The results could provide insights into the rearing of T. molitor.

Post-fault energy usage optimization for multilevel inverter with integrated battery

Abstract: This paper presents a novel sorting algorithm for modular multilevel inverters (MMCs) with integrated batteries, designed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of electric vehicles (EVs) under post-fault conditions. The proposed system structure consists of an MMC with four full-bridge modules per phase, where one module acts as a spinning reserve during normal operation. The algorithm addresses a single switch fault per phase by operating the faulted module in half-bridge mode, ensuring all batteries remain operational and maintaining full power output and battery capacity without any noticeable changes for the vehicle operator. Unlike conventional fault-tolerant strategies that often reduce power output or disable affected modules, the proposed algorithm isolates the faulty switch while preserving system output. This approach avoids derating and eliminates the need for immediate maintenance, enabling the EV to continue operating under fault conditions. Simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the algorithm under a single switch fault scenario, demonstrating its ability to maintain autonomy and consistent power delivery. This work demonstrates a fault-tolerant MMC principle, offering a robust and scalable solution for enhancing reliability and user satisfaction in EV power systems.

Odstopanja gradbenih in obrtniških del glede na gradbene tolerance : magistrsko delo

Abstract: Tolerance v gradbeništvu so dovoljena odstopanja pri izvedbi gradbenih, obrtniških in inštalacijskih del, to pomeni, da so izvedena dela narejena v mejah dovoljenih odstopanj. V magistrski nalogi so preučene tolerance v gradbeništvu, ki so določene v različnih mednarodnih standardih, z natančnejšim osredotočenjem na nemški standard DIN18202. Na realnem projektu gradnje objekta SG so predstavljeni primeri odstopanj pri izvedbi gradbenih in obrtniških del. Za nastala odstopanja sta podana tehnični ter ekonomski vidik, in sicer za dela, ki so bila izvedena znotraj toleranc. Pri tem ekonomski vidik vključuje določitev stroškov za nastala odstopanja kot razliko med predračunsko in končno vrednostjo za izvedbo gradbenih in obrtniški del.

Zasnova merilne priprave za preverjanje geometrijskih značilnosti tankostenskega odkovka : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Podjetja težijo k čim hitrejšemu in zanesljivemu merjenju izdelkov, ki je hkrati ekonomično ugodno. Zato se v določenih primerih poslužijo merilnih priprav, s katerimi omogočijo ekonomično ugodnejše meritve pri nadzoru geometrijskih značilnosti večje količine izdelkov. V ta namen smo se v podjetju Unior d.d. odločili za izdelavo zasnove merilne priprave, ki bi bila najprimernejša za merjenje tankostenskega odkovka s specifičnimi geometrijskimi zahtevami. V nalogi sem na osnovi definiranih dimenzij in toleranc določil geometrijske značilnosti kalibrov za preverjanje pozicij izvrtin in analiziral odstopanja centrov izvrtin že izdelanih izdelkov. Na osnovi izvedene analize sem skonstruiral tri variante, katere smo na podlagi lastnih ocenjevalnih kriterijev ocenili. Izbrali smo konstrukcijsko in cenovno najbolj ugodno rešitev ki je predstavljena, na koncu diplomskega dela.

Connection between the originality level of pupils' visual expression in visual arts lessons and their level of tolerance for diversity

Abstract: The aim of this research was to examine the connection between the originality level in children's expression during visual art lessons and their level of tolerance for difference. The participants comprised primary school pupils from grades one, two and three, a total of 110. It was confirmed that there was a statistically significant difference between the pupils who had an introduction to the lesson using the didactic model of visual problem-based teaching and those who had not. Learning and setting art terminology, the analysis of motifs and explanation, as well as demonstration of art techniques resulted in a higher level of creativity in visual performance, as well as a higher level of tolerance. It can be concluded that, with the proper choice of didactic models in teaching the visual arts, a wide range of pupil attitudes and beliefs can be improved.

Vrednotenje geometrijskih značilnosti nosilca motorja s pomočjo trikoordinatne merilne tehnike

Abstract: V diplomskem delu je predstavljeno merjenje geometrijskih značilnosti na nosilcu motorja, ki se uporablja v manjših gospodinjskih aparatih. Na izdelku sem izbral določene geometrijske značilnosti, ki sem jih nato ovrednotil z uporabo dveh trikoordinatnih merilnih metod. V podjetju BSH Hišni aparati d. o. o. Nazarje se je za opravljanje meritev uporabil CT-stroj, v Laboratoriju za tehnološke meritve na Fakulteti za strojništvo v Mariboru pa tipalna koordinatna merilna naprava. Opisana je teorija trikoordinatne merilne tehnike, postopek opravljanja meritev ter primerjava izmerjenih rezultatov obeh metod.

Delavniška dokumentacija preizkuševališča zobnikov

Abstract: Diplomsko delo zajema izdelavo tehnične dokumentacije unikatne izvedbe standardiziranega FZG preizkuševališča, ki se uporablja za preizkušanje zobniških parov in mazil. V sklopu diplome je bil napravljen 3D CAD model preizkuševališča, določeni so bili manjši konstrukcijski detajli. Opisan je postopek ustvarjanja dokumentacije in reševanja problemov v zvezi s predpisovanjem vseh potrebnih parametrov, ki jih zajema delavniška risba komponente. Poudarek je na določevanju natančnosti izdelave, saj se bodo na napravi preizkušali zelo kvalitetni zobniki.

Preverjanje dobaviteljev in kakovosti materialov v podjetju Arcont

Abstract: Magistrsko delo obravnava področje nabave in kakovosti v podjetju Arcont. Natančneje opisuje izbrane materiale, ki mu jih dobavljajo strateški dobavitelji in proces izvajanja vhodne analize kakovosti teh materialov. Nedoseganje zahtevane kakovosti vhodnih materialov pomembno vpliva na končno kakovost izdelka, ki ga podjetje izdeluje. Gre za bivalne enote različnih dimenzij in namembnosti. Materiali, ki jih podjetje uporablja za izdelavo bivalnih enot, morajo ustrezati tehničnim zahtevam in njihovi odstopki morajo biti v dopustnem tolerančnem območju. To lahko preverjamo zgolj z meritvami. V samem delu smo se omejili na geometrijske značilnosti materialov. Posebno pozornost smo posvetili vogalnim stebrom, cevem, pločevini in strešnim profilom. Ti materiali sestavljajo ogrodje bivalne enote in so prisotni prav v vsaki enoti. Posledično je poraba teh materialov največja in njihova nekakovost lahko povzroča številne težave v proizvodnji ter poznejše reklamacije, kar pa povečuje stroške in s tem zmanjšuje dodano vrednost izdelka. Rezultat magistrskega dela je izvedena analiza merilnih inštrumentov, s katerimi bi lahko posamezne meritve izvajali, in merilni postopki meritev.
