Comparison of different modulation control strategies for wireless power transfer system
Jure Domajnko, Oto Težak, Mitja Truntič, Nataša Prosen, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: When designing a wireless power transfer system, overall system efficiency is one of the key parameters. The efficiency depends on several parameters, which also includes control modulation, used for excitation of the transmitter coil. However, how much the modulation technique impacts the efficiency is studied rarely. In this paper, we compare the three most popular control modulation techniques for transmitter voltage of a wireless power transfer system. First, the theory behind the methods is presented by highlighting the difference between them and their implementation. The methods are implemented, together with a linear PI control scheme, to evaluate the efficiency and performance of each of the methods. Finally, the practical tests were performed, under different output power levels, in order to evaluate the practical performance of each modulation strategy further

Three-Phase load current reconstruction using singleshunt current measurement and modified vector modulation for three-level DC-AC converter : doctoral dissertation
Haris Kovačević, 2022, doctoral dissertation

Abstract: This doctoral thesis focuses on the development of Space Vector Modulation (SVM) techniques adjusted for single-shunt current measurement and applied to the three-level three-phase voltage source inverter. Based on the single-shunt current measurement, three-phase load currents are then reconstructed. An overview of existing multilevel topologies and their main operating principles is provided within the thesis. To evaluate proposed SVM techniques adjusted for single-shunt current measurement, a three-level three-phase diode clamped voltage source inverter topology is selected. The main advantages of the selected topology are high efficiency, reduced semiconductor stress, the low capacitance of DC-link capacitors, etc. To reconstruct the three-phase load currents, a single-shunt is positioned inside the middle branch of the DC-link. An overview of existing modulation techniques for two-level and multilevel inverters is provided within the thesis. To reconstruct three-phase load currents, three SVM methods are proposed within the thesis. Due to the lack of a current measurement window, while the voltage vector is positioned near sector or region boundary areas, additional modifications are required. The first SVM method shifts the SVM signals to ensure the minimum current measurement window needed for measurement with minimum additional vector injection. Such an approach ensures the high modulation index values greater than 0.8 with the smallest current ripple due to the SVM signal symmetry. The second method intentionally injects the colinear voltage vector into the existing vector combination to ensure the minimum time window required for current measurement. As a drawback, a smaller modulation index compared to the first method can be achieved. As an advantage, a very low modulation index of less than 0.2 can be achieved. The third method simplifies the second method by using a single SVM pattern. Such a method can be used only for very low modulation indexes and can be applied for two-level and three-level inverters. The proposed SVM methods are implemented within the Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Experimental results confirm the proper operation of the proposed methods applied to the three-level diode clamped voltage source inverter.

Analysis and implementation of different modulation strategies for one-phase inverter based on TMS320F28335 microcontroller : magistrsko delo
Tomislav Sinković, 2019, master's thesis

Abstract: This master’s thesis is about researching different modulation strategies used on one-phase inverters. Given results and quality of the particular modulation strategy will be measured on output terminals of the whole system or load, which will be, for this purpose, a classical pure resistive load. Signal response will be measured with oscilloscope and the obtained signal will be saved in CSV form for further computer analysis using MATLAB/Simulink. Stored results will be passed through Fast Fourier Transformation method, which can estimate the magnitude of higher harmonics component in the output signal and thus quality of the signal. Whole algorithm and low-level signal generation is performed with TMS320F28335 microcontroller which supports MATLAB/Simulink to be compiled in C language. Real »Power board« is done with the milling machine with prior designing in Altium Designer PCB software package.

ELEKTROMAGNETNA KOMPATIBILNOST INVERTERSKIH POGONOV TOPLOTNIH ČRPALK
Amadej Kumer, 2016, master's thesis

Abstract: V magistrskem delu Elektromagnetna kompatibilnost inverterskih pogonov toplotnih črpalk je prikazano delovanje toplotnih črpalk za ogrevanje/ohlajanje objektov, glavni sestavni deli toplotnih črpalk, kakšne tipe poznamo, izračun hladilne/grelne moči toplotnih črpalk, ki jih proizvaja priznan slovenski proizvajalec toplotnih črpalk Kronoterm. Pri izbiri toplotne črpalke poznamo dva načina vodenja ON/OFF in invertersko izvedbo pri kateri hitrost spreminjamo z inverterjem, kar nam omogoča boljšo regulacijo temperature in daljšo življenjsko dobo edinega gibljivega sestavnega dela toplotne črpalke – kompresorja. Vsaka toplotna črpalka mora opraviti teste elektromagnetne kompatibilnosti. Opravili smo meritve in primerjavo vrednosti, podanih v emisijskih standardih in Uredbi o elektromagnetnem sevanju v naravnem in življenjskem okolju, ki veljajo za Slovenijo.

ANALIZA IN NAČRTOVANJE SONČNE ELEKTRARNE
Andrej Gjura, 2012, undergraduate thesis

S takim načinom pridobivanja električne energije bomo pripomogli k ohranjanju in obnavljanju narave, ki smo jo z nepravilnim izkoriščanjem sovražnih energetskih fosilnih virov že skoraj uničili.
