1. Teacher opinion about using problem-based learning in technology and engineering educationLara Voler, Andrej Flogie, 2024, original scientific article Abstract: A school for the 21st century requires innovative approaches to learning and teaching. The presented research investigates the current state of innovative teaching methods, particularly problem-based learning (PBL), among teachers of the subject Technology and Engineering (TE) in Slovenian lower secondary schools. The main aim of the research was to determine the attitude towards such innovative teaching approaches, how often innovative teaching methods are used, how teachers perceive their importance, and finally, according to the teachers, how they are qualified for this. In the research, an appropriate questionnaire for teachers is developed. Qualitative and quantitative research was conducted using an online survey and statistical data processing. The online survey results showed that teachers positively assess the importance of using PBL, which is perceived as a more challenging method than traditional teaching methods. Despite numerous challenges, teachers express high motivation to improve their teaching practices. Based on the data obtained, it is found that teachers' knowledge is assessed less positively than their competence assessment, which indicates the need for more accurate methods of evaluating knowledge and emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development. The research findings could be important for improving teaching practices and promoting innovations in the educational process. High motivation and readiness of teachers to accept innovative pedagogical approaches can contribute to a better learning environment and the development of a more competent teacher in the future. 2. The blow-up method applied to monodromic singularitiesBrigita Ferčec, Jaume Giné, 2024, original scientific article Abstract: The blow-up method proves its effectiveness to characterize the integrability of the resonant saddles giving the necessary conditions to have formal integrability and the sufficiency doing the resolution of the associated recurrence differential equation using induction. In this work we apply the blow-up method to monodromic singularities in order to solve the center-focus problem. The case of nondegenerate monodromic singularities is straightforward since any real nondegenerate monodromy singularity can be embedded into a complex system with a resonant saddle. Here we apply the method to nilpotent and degenerate monodromic singularities solving the center problem when the center conditions are algebraic. 4. A hybrid multi-criteria and creative, problemsolving approach, for measuring local values of information technology productsVesna Čančer, 2023, original scientific article Abstract: This study examines the relationship between digital transformation and sustainable
practices within enterprises against the backdrop of global transformative forces framed within
the holistic paradigm of systems thinking. It examines the extent to which digital advances either
facilitate or impede the sustainable development of companies, while also considering the systemic
impact of demographic variables (such as gender, age, education), national income levels, and
geographical regions on business sustainability. Using data from the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor
(GEM), which encompasses 26,790 entrepreneurs in 47 countries, this research uses multinomial
regression to assess how these factors influence companies’ commitment to social and environmental
goals. A key finding is that the strategic use of digital technologies in sales processes significantly
increases the likelihood that entrepreneurs will integrate social and environmental considerations
into their decision-making. Notably, this conscientious approach to business is most prevalent among
entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our findings underscore the central role of digital
technologies in driving sustainable business transformation while also highlighting the significant
influence of regional socio-environmental contexts on business sustainability orientations. Keywords: creative problem solving, information technology, multi-criteria decision making, piecewise linear value function, prescriptive approach Published in DKUM: 10.07.2025; Views: 0; Downloads: 3

6. Indicators of the quality of work in residential treatment centresMitja Krajnčan, 2021, original scientific article Abstract: In the last year, residential treatment centres in Slovenia have made a significant shift from traditional approaches to programs for young people which are adapted to their needs within the entire continuum of help: from preventive work to early detection, a range of support programs, various programs in out-ofhome care, and intensive treatment, up to the most difficult cases. It is therefore important that the work be properly reflected through quality settings. These concern all aspects of an institution's operation. Using a comparative method of comparing sources and analytical synthesis, we have shown all the important areas of operation of such a system. Orientation towards the areas of work quality represents a modern and current discourse, while simultaneously providing starting points for development. 7. 8. Strong geodetic problem in networksPaul Manuel, Sandi Klavžar, Antony Xavier, Andrew Arokiaraj, Elizabeth Thomas, 2020, original scientific article Abstract: In order to model certain social network problems, the strong geodetic problem and its related invariant, the strong geodetic number, are introduced. The problem is conceptually similar to the classical geodetic problem but seems intrinsically more difficult. The strong geodetic number is compared with the geodetic number and with the isometric path number. It is determined for several families of graphs including Apollonian networks. Applying Sierpiński graphs, an algorithm is developed that returns a minimum path cover of Apollonian networks corresponding to the strong geodetic number. It is also proved that the strong geodetic problem is NP-complete. 9. Flexible assignment of loading bays for efficient vehicle routing in urban last mile deliveryTomislav Letnik, Matej Mencinger, Iztok Peruš, 2020, original scientific article Abstract: Urban freight deliveries are often subject to many access restrictions which creates the need to establish a system of loading bays and to split the last mile delivery into driving and walking parts. A new model based on hard and soft clustering approach is developed to solve the loading bay assignment problem for efficient vehicle routing and walking in last mile delivery. The flexibility of the model is provided by the soft clustering approach based on different membership degrees of customers to loading bays. Especially for instances with large numbers of loading bays, soft clustering seems to give better results, it leads to higher flexibility of city logistics systems, minimal driving distances, and adequately short walking paths, which contribute to the goal of reaching sustainable urban freight deliveries. 10. Clinical pharmacist recommendations in daily interdisciplinary ward rounds at a psychiatric hospital: a retrospective pre-post study on drug-related problems focused in somatic comorbiditiesMatej Štuhec, Anteja Gorjan Gazdag, Zala Čuk, Robert Oravecz, Borjanka Batinic, 2024, original scientific article Abstract: Objective: One potential strategy to address inadequate screening for somatic comorbidities among patients with mental disorders is to integrate a clinical pharmacist into the inpatient team for daily interdisciplinary ward rounds. This approach remains under-researched in psychiatric hospitals. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of a clinical pharmacist on drug-related problems (DRPs) during daily ward rounds within an interdisciplinary team in a psychiatric hospital. Methods: A retrospective observational pre-post study was conducted at the Ormož Psychiatric Hospital in Slovenia, including patients treated between 2019 and 2020, during which clinical pharmacists offered recommendations during daily ward rounds. The primary outcomes assessed the difference in the total number of DRPs observed at the time of hospital discharge compared to previous stage, as well as the recommendations and their continuation rate after three months. The secondary outcomes evaluated adherence to treatment guidelines. Results: The study included 186 patients (mean age: 58.1 years, SD=17.0). During ward rounds, 280 recommendations related to DRPs were conducted (1.5 recommendations per patient). Regarding the nature of DRPs, 154 (55.0%) were identified as expressed DRPs, while 127 (45.0%) were deemed potential DRPs. Following pharmacist recommendations, 133 (86.4%) of the expressed DRPs were successfully resolved. The majority of DRPs pertained to treatment effectiveness (N=179, 63.9%), followed by unnecessary treatments (N=86, 30.7%) and patient safety (N=15, 5.4%). Initially, the acceptance rate of recommendations was 88.9% (N=249) at discharge, declining to 63.2% (N=177) three months after discharge. The acceptance rate for somatic conditions at discharge was 87.8% (N=122), declining to 59.0% (N=82) three months after discharge. Adherence to treatment guidelines for somatic comorbidities increased (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The results indicate that this approach led to fewer DRPs, a high rate of acceptance, and better adherence to treatment guidelines. This is the first retrospective pre-post study in the European Union to include this collaboration in daily rounds at psychiatric hospitals, focusing on somatic comorbidities. However, the study also has significant limitations, such as its non-randomized design and short monitoring period, which should be addressed in future research.
