Economic policy and confidence of economic agents - a causal relationship?

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to study whether innovations in monetary and fiscal policy are a leading indicator of future business and consumer confidence and reverse applying the panel Granger causality analysis to two periods in the history of the euro area: before and after the start of the Great Recession. The results show that Granger causality interaction between the confidence of economic agents and the stance of monetary policy (measured by the shadow rate) is stronger than between the former and the fiscal policy instruments. The European Central Bank (ECB) shadow rate innovations Granger caused business and consumer confidence in both periods, but also indicators of confidence Granger caused the shadow rate. No such feedback could be established between two fiscal policy instruments (government expenditure and revenue growth) and the indicators of confidence. Government spending and revenues Granger caused business confidence in the first subperiod, but not in the second subperiod when the causality reversed. The government revenues Granger caused consumer confidence in the first subperiod, while government expenditures in the second subperiod. Consumer confidence Granger caused government spending in the first subperiod.

Assessment of in-plane timber floor stiffness as structural diaphragms: a numerical approach to lateral load response

Abstract: The behaviour of horizontal floor diaphragms plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall response of a building during earthquakes, as the stiffness of these diaphragms determines whether the structure will act as an integrated system. If the diaphragms do not exhibit sufficient stiffness, differences in the redistribution of forces on wall elements arise, increasing the risk of significant deformations and even local damage, which is commonly observed in earthquake-affected areas. Additionally, flexible diaphragms heighten the risk of torsional effects. Due to these factors, more attention should be given to the response of buildings with flexible diaphragms. Eurocode standard specifies general requirements under which diaphragms should be considered rigid within their plane, depending on the maximum diaphragm moment. However, specific guidelines regarding the geometric and material properties of elements that significantly impact seismic behaviour are not included in the existing European standards. This served as a basis for conducting a numerical study analysing the in-plane behaviour of floor elements made from different materials. This study, limited to a simple box-shaped structure with masonry walls, symmetrical in both orthogonal directions, evaluated and thoroughly analysed the deformations for different types of diaphragms, including prefabricated wooden frame-panel floors, CLT panels, and reinforced concrete slabs. Special emphasis was placed on wooden structural elements due to the increased demand for timber construction, as the behaviour of these elements needs to be properly studied, especially in seismic regions. The study results were obtained through FEM analysis using the SCIA Engineer software, version 22. The modelling of elements was carried out considering the orthotropy of brick wall and wooden ceiling elements, as well as simulating the appropriate shear stiffness of the connecting means.

PRINCIP DELOVANJA OPTIMIZATORJA MOČI NA MIKRO FOTOVOLTAIČNI ELEKTRARNI : magistrsko delo

Abstract: V zadnjih letih se je v Sloveniji znatno povečala izgradnja mikro fotovoltaičnih elektrarn za samooskrbo, predvsem zaradi ugodnega modela letnega obračunavanja med prejeto in oddano energijo ter podpornih shem, ki so spodbudile zanimanje. Ključni element poleg razsmernika je fotovoltaični optimizator moči, ki igra pomembno vlogo pri zagotavljanju varnosti in optimalne proizvodnje električne energije, zlasti na objektih z zasenčenjem. V magistrskem delu bo predstavljen koncept delovanja fotovoltaičnega optimizatorja na realnem primeru. Izdelali bomo merilno progo in jo vključili v fotovoltaični niz. Osnovni cilj dela je raziskati način delovanja fotovoltaičnega optimizatorja, nameščenega pod fotovoltaičnimi paneli v mikro fotovoltaični elektrarni. Izvedli bomo meritve v različnih točkah sistema ter proučili prehodne pojave na vhodu in izhodu fotovoltaičnega optimizatorja ter na vhodu razsmernika. S pomočjo natančne merilne opreme Dewesoft bomo grafično in tabelarično predstavili merilne rezultate. Poleg omenjenega bomo ugotavljali mejno točko vhodne enosmerne napetosti, pri kateri pride do izklopa razsmernika, in preverili učinkovitost pretvorbe DC/DC-pretvornika.

Krmilje in nadzor naprave za visokotlačno pranje

Abstract: To diplomsko dela je namenjeno izdelavi algoritma vodenja in nadzornega grafičnega vmesnika za industrijski proces čiščenja rešetk usedalne komore, s pomočjo programskega orodja TIA Portal. Program se bo uporabljal za testiranje obratovalnega procesa sistema, ter spremljanje odzivov sistema ob morebitnih napakah oz. menjavi elementov v sistemu. Glavna dela projekta sta izdelava delujočega programa na PLK-ju in izdelava celotnega HMI zaslona z animacijo delovanja sistema. Za programiranje smo uporabili standardne programske bloke, ki omogočajo lažje programiranje. Za vse ponavljajoče se grafične elemente smo ustvarili knjižnice, ki omogočajo hitrejšo izdelavo HMI zaslona in lažjo programiranje animacije grafičnih elementov.

Razvoj vremenske postaje : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Namen diplomskega dela je bil razviti in izdelati vremensko postajo, ki bi delovala neodvisno od omrežja z uporabo vgrajene baterije in sončnega panela kot vira energije. Cilj vremenske postaje je merjenje ključnih meteoroloških parametrov, kot so temperatura, vlaga, tlak, osvetljenost, jakost UV žarkov in smer ter hitrost vetra. Izmerjeni podatki so nato z uporabo modula GSM in protokola MQTT poslani in prikazani na spletni strani. V zaključnem delu je predstavljeno teoretično ozadje tehnike MPPT, protokola I2C in protokola MQTT. Opisane so glavne komponente in uporabljeni senzorji. V nadaljevanju je predstavljeno načrtovanje vezja in izbira komponent. Opisana je programska koda za spletno stran in koda, ki se nahaja na mikrokrmilniku. Na koncu so predstavljeni še potek izdelave projekta in meritve vezja ter končni rezultati.

The potential of solar energy in Slovenia represents the largest share of renewable energy sources. This article shows the use of roll bond solar absorbers for the heating and cooling of houses. For this purpose, we performed a numerical simulation of solar absorbers and theoretical calculations.

Multi-purpose use and lifecycle analysis of solar panels

Abstract: The combined use of renewable energy technologies and alternative energy technologies is a promising approach to reduce global warming effects throughout the world. In this paper, the solar panel is used in combination with a heat pump or with biomass sources to obtain heat, electricity, and hydrogen. Based on the Rankine thermodynamic cycle, hydrogen could be obtained from water with electrolysis and the CuCl thermochemical cycle. Furthermore, this study contains a life cycle analysis of solar panels.

Posodobitev delovne postaje za vstavljanje indikatorjev "magic eye" na montažni liniji za proizvodnjo svinčeno-kislinskih avtomobilskih baterij : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Diplomska naloga opisuje zamenjavo starega stroja za vstavljanje indikatorjev »Magic eye« za novi stroj v podjetju TAB d.d., saj je stari stroj preveč mehansko obrabljen in manj efektiven. Opisuje vse komponente uporabljene v projektu ter programsko opremo. Opisuje tudi programiranje krmilnika, ki opravlja novi stroj in zaslon na dotik z dodanimi novimi funkcijami ter opis delovanja starega in novega stroja. Pri programiranju je bilo potrebno pravilno razmisliti korake stroja ter pravilno vključevanje časovnikov. Pri panelu pa je bilo pomembo pravilno naslavljanje naslovov ter logična izdelava novih funkcij. Končni del projekta bi predstavljal delujoč stroj z delujočim panelom, vendar zaradi izrednih vremenski razmer in poplav to ni bilo mogoče storiti, saj je v podjetju bilo preveč škode ter ni bilo dostopa, da bi se stroj pravi čas testiral. Po sanaciji podjetja bi se stroj testiral.

The impact of macroprudential policy on credit growth in nine euro area economies

Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the impact of macroprudential policy measures (bundled together into a macroprudential policy index, MPI) on the nonfinancial corporate sector credit and household credit growth using a one-step system GMM empirical research method. The goal of our paper is to test whether contractionary macroprudential policy stymies credit growth rate and whether expansionary macroprudential policy spurs credit growth rate in selected Euro Area economies (Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain) over the period 2008Q4–2018Q4. We test two hypotheses: H1: The tightening of macroprudential policy measures reduces the non-financial corporate sector credit growth rate, and H2: The tightening of macroprudential policy measures reduces the growth rate of household credit. Based on our empirical results, we can confirm the first hypothesis. In contrast, the second hypothesis can be neither confirmed nor rejected since the explanatory variable of interest (MPI) is statistically insignificant in the second model.

Konstruiranje nosilca za avtonomno testiranje krmilja vgradnih pečic v podjetju gorenje d.o.o. : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Zaradi potrebe po avtonomnem testiranju krmilja vgradnih pečic v podjetju Gorenje d. o. o. smo se lotili konstruiranja prosto stoječe naprave za testiranje, ki bo zmožna univerzalnega prileganja, ne glede na tip naprave in tip čelne plošče. Naprava mora biti zmožna proženja tipk čelne plošče preko linearnih aktuatorjev, prav tako mora biti zmožna proženja gumbov preko radialnih stepper motorjev. Potrebno je določiti rešitev za proženje tipk na zaslonu, občutljivem na dotik. Modeliranja naprave smo se lotili v programu NX. Ob koncu modeliranja smo dobili ustrezen model ter vse potrebne načrte za sestavo naprave, ki bo zmožna prileganja na vse vrste čelnih plošč na vgradnih pečicah.
