Response surface method-based optimization of outer rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor

Abstract: The Finite Element Method (FEM) is a prominent analysis approach. Although it is applicable for simulation and optimization of electrical machines, FEM is a very time-consuming technique. One of the approaches to shorten the optimization runtime is the use of surrogate models instead of FEM. In this paper, the design and optimization of an outer rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor for a hybrid vehicle are investigated. Response surface methodology (RSM) with four input variables is integrated with a sequential quadratic programming algorithm for optimization. Before the optimization, the performance of the surrogate model in the prediction of untried points is validated. Finally, the optimal motor is simulated by FEM to verify the results of RSM-based optimization, and the outputs of both models are compared.

Pantograph driven with a linear induction motor with adaptive fuzzy control

Abstract: This article presents an adaptive fuzzy control for a linear induction motor, which is used to control the vertical movement of a pantograph, which supplies an electric locomotive from a contact line. The system has the goal of eliminating all the discontinuity on the route, the resonance phenomenon, the separation of the pantograph head from the contact wire, and electric arches. The simulations demonstrate functional control of the pantograph driven with a linear induction motor system using fuzzy control techniques.

Measurement System for Testing of Electric Drives in Electric Vehicles

Abstract: This paper deals with the implementation of a measurement system, capable of performing real-time data acquisition and control, and allows the performance analysis of electric drives used for electric vehicle propulsion. For applying the mechanical load on the shaft of the tested motor three different test bench configurations with different power and speed ranges can be used. The main objective of the measurement system is to perform routine performance tests and road simulation tests (in terms of driving cycles) of an electric drive. It provides a research environment for analysis, investigation and study of electric drives and control strategies.

Vpliv uporabe e-goriva na tokovne razmere v vbrizgalni šobi dizelskega motorja

Abstract: Namen magistrskega dela je ugotoviti vpliv e-goriva na tokovne razmere v vbrizgalni šobi dizelskega motorja. Alternativna goriva imajo drugačne lastnosti od konvencionalnega dizelskega goriva. Posledično lahko pričakujemo različno obnašanje goriva v vbrizgalni šobi. V magistrski nalogi so primerjana tri goriva. To so e-FT gorivo, My Renewable Diesel in konvencionalno dizelsko gorivo. Analiza toka goriva je bila izvedena s pomočjo programske opreme AVL FIRE, kjer so bile izvedene tri simulacije, za vsako gorivo posebej. Simulacija je bila omejena na enako geometrijo vbrizgalne šobe, enak potek dviga igle, enak obratovalni režim motorja, enak tlak vbrizgavanja in enak tlak znotraj zgorevalne komore. Po končanih simulacijah smo spoznali, da lastnosti goriva vplivajo na tokovne razmere in razvoj parne faze. Viskoznost in gostota sta tesno povezana z razvojem parne faze ter s pojavom kavitacije. Višja kot sta viskoznost in gostota goriva, manjša je možnost pojava kavitacije ter manj je parne faze. To pomeni, da manj viskozna goriva bolj kavitirajo v primerjavi bolj viskoznimi.

Measurements of the characteristics of an electric motor for an electric vehicle's drive

Abstract: This paper aims to present the performance and measurement results of a load test performed on a brushless DC motor built into the wheel of a solar-powered vehicle. A brushless DC motor's theoretical background and operation are presented at the beginning of the paper. The article covers the technical specification of the solar-powered vehicle and the inbuilt brushless DC motor. The measurements were performed with the described equipment at the Institute of Energy Technology, Faculty of Energy Technology, University of Maribor. Due to the unique design of the measured electric motor, it was also necessary to make a special housing, which was intended for connecting the electric motor to the test bench. The article concludes with an analysis of the measurement results in comparison with the data provided by the electric motor manufacturer.

Experimental verification of the numerically determined parameters for the non-linear two-axis model of a synchronous motor with interior permanent magnets

Abstract: Synchronous machines belong to the family of electrical machines characterised by a synchronous magnetic rotating field in the air gap of the machine, the speed of which depends on the frequency of the currents in the armature winding. The paper presents procedures and methods for the numerical determination and experimental verification of the parameters for a nonlinear two-axis model of a synchronous motor with permanent magnets in the rotor (IPMSM) and a concentrated stator winding. To calculate the distribution of electro-magnetic fields in the motor accurately, models with distributed parameters are used in motor design, for which the Finite Element Method (FEM) is usually employed. The improvement by using the model with concentrated parameters considerably simplifies the physical model, by describing it with a system of (non)linear differential equations, the so‐called partial differential equations, which is presented in this paper.

Primerjava vpliva na okolje pri uporabi dizelskega motorja ali plinske turbine za proizvodnjo električne energije v TE Brestanica : magistrsko delo

Abstract: V sodobnem svetu je proizvodnja električne energije nujna zaradi bolj množične uporabe električnih naprav in vse večjega povpraševanja po energiji. Podnebne spremembe se lahko štejejo za enega najbolj perečih problemov, s katerimi se trenutno sooča svet. Nekatere metode pridobivanja električne energije s premogom, nafto, zemeljskim plinom povzročajo neizogibne emisije toplogrednih plinov in številne negativne učinke na okolje. Temperatura narašča, dviga se morska gladina in še ena težava, ki je povezana s podnebnimi spremembami, je izčrpavanje fosilnih goriv. Vsem proizvodnjam je pomembno, da svojo energijo proizvajajo na učinkovit način in poskušajo zmanjšati njen vpliv na okolje. V magistrskem delu smo analizirali in primerjali uporabo različnih pogonov v Termoelektrarni Brestanica. Želeli smo ugotoviti, kakšen vpliv ima uporaba dizelskega motorja v proizvodnji; to smo primerjali s trenutnimi pogoni, ki jih imajo plinski bloki v Brestanici. Ugotovili smo, da ima dizelski motor krajši odzivni čas pri zagonu, zato lahko posledično tudi zmanjšamo emisijske vplive na okolje.

Avtomatska laserska merilna celica za nadzor kvalitete obdelovanca : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Diplomska naloga je nastala na podlagi projektne naloge, kjer smo preučili delovanje dveh SICK točkovnih laserskih triangulacijskih senzorjev. Zaradi izredne natančnosti in hitrosti laserskih senzorjev je bila ideja ustvariti čim bolj preprosto napravo, ki z le dvema točkovnima senzorjema in koračnima motorjema zajame dovolj meritev, da posname geometrijo manjšega strojnega dela. V diplomski nalogi sem se osredotočil na razvoju in realizaciji koncepta, kako lahko naprava samodejno izvaja meritve na poljubno velikem strojnem delu. Moja diplomska naloga se osredotoča na zasnovi, izdelavi ohišja, energetskega in pogonskega, ter krmilnega dela naprave. Merilna celica na podlagi izvedenih meritev ovrednoti končno kvaliteto strojnega dela, katerega izdelava je visoke kakovosti in preciznosti.

Simulacija zgorevanja dizelskega goriva in DME v zgorevalni komori dizelskega motorja

Abstract: Namen diplomskega dela je bila primerjava zgorevanja dizla in dimetil etra v zgorevalni komori dizelskega motorja. Simulacije so bile izvedene v programskem paketu FIRE in omejene na izsek ene zgorevalne komore. V dizelskih motorjih poteka zgorevanje s samovžigom goriva, zato so različne lastnosti obeh goriv vplivale na potek zgorevanja in posledično na temperaturo, tlak ter na produkte zgorevanja oziroma emisije. Na zgorevanje vpliva tudi kot ročične gredi, pri katerem se vbrizga gorivo, zato so se simulacije izvedle pri treh različnih kotih vbrizga. Škodljive emisije dizelskih goriv, kot so dušikovi oksidi, ogljikovodiki, delci, ogljikov monoksid in dioksid, nelagodno vplivajo na zdravje ljudi in naravo, zato se standardi za emisije, ki določajo dovoljeno količino emisij pri zgorevanju, bližajo vse nižjim vrednosti. Dimetil eter bi naj bil ustrezen nadomestek za dizelsko gorivo, tako imenovano alternativno gorivo. Rezultati simulacije so pokazali različne vrednosti tlaka, temperature in emisij, kot tudi prednosti in slabosti dimetil etra v primerjavi z dizlom.
