Measuring system for determining the quality of LED light sources and an overview of LED light bulbs for household use
Matic Markovič, Andrej Orgulan, Primož Sukič, 2022, original scientific article

Abstract: Modern LED light sources have many advantages, as well as some disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is the pulsating luminous flux, which, in some cases, affects people’s health and well-being negatively. The paper describes the design and making process of a measuring system for determining the quality of LED substitutes for conventional light bulbs and gives an overview of LED light bulbs for household use. The measurement system is controlled using the MATLAB software environment, in which data processing and plotting of the results are also performed. We acquired 59 different LED light bulbs from 37 manufacturers, and performed the measurements. The light bulbs are classified based on the percentage of fluctuations in the luminous flux, and the percentage of deviation of the measured luminous flux compared to the value stated on the packaging by the manufacturer.

Accuracy of Rotational Speed and Torque Sensors for Determining the Mechanical Power of Rotating Electrical Machines
Gregor Srpčič, Iztok Brinovar, Bojan Štumberger, Sebastijan Seme, Miralem Hadžiselimović, 2019, published scientific conference contribution

Abstract: This paper deals with determining the accuracy of measuring systems for determining the characteristics of rotating electrical machines. Efficiency classes and experimental methods for determining efficiency, are given in a standard, which has to be strictly respected. For determining the efficiency of an electrical machine, it is necessary to have a modern and accurate measurement system with sensors of high accuracy classes, which enables the user to carry out precise measurements and consequently, to determine all the characteristics of the electrical machine. This paper will be focused on torque and speed measurements.

Measurement device for testing printed circuit board assemblies coming off the production line
Nejc Friškovec, Manja Obreza, Sebastijan Seme, Klemen Sredenšek, 2022, original scientific article

Abstract: The paper presents an efficient way to evaluate and determine the quality of an assembled printed circuit board coming off the production line. A printed circuit board assembly consists of electronic devices soldered to the printed circuit board, which provides the electrical connections. After assembling the printed circuit board, a function test needs to be performed to guarantee the quality of the product. Usually, the assembly lines are equipped with cameras that detect inaccuracies such as missing components. This level of quality assurance is sometimes not enough, and we need to add another degree of precaution. In addition to camera inspections, electronic measurements must be conducted. The process needs to be automated to provide repeatability and speed. The paper evaluates such a device and presents its advantages, disadvantages, and complexity. The device includes an electrical part that performs the measurements, a mechanical part that consists of a housing and a mounting nest, and a program that supervises the process.
