The focus is on understanding the proper ways in which degraded zone and dilapidated buildings ought to be revitalized, but also the benefits of revitalizing city cores. It is a multifaceted discourse, thus, the research focuses on industrial heritage and brownfield development in the context of Sarajevo’s City Planning Strategy, as well as, the concept of ruins. Arhitektura kot/za kulturo: muzej industrijske dediščine Maribora in kulturno-kreativni center Tezno : magistrsko delo
Maša Čelebić, 2021, master's thesis

Abstract: The concept of the Maribor Industrial Heritage Trail, as a form of revitalization of the Maribor industrial zones and the development of the city's cultural content, is being proposed in this master's thesis in the narrow belt of the Tezno industrial zone. The project is based on detailed analyzes of the wider and narrower location, on the basis of which a concept proposal is given for the urban development of the Tezno zone and Perhavčeva cesta, as part of the Maribor Industrial Heritage Trail. The conceptual design of the Cultural and Creative Center Tezno and the entrance building of the Museum of Industrial Heritage of Maribor, which is proposed in the underground tunnels on Tezno, enriches the cultural, memorial and ecological content of this part of the trail. Through a theoretical overview and conceptual solutions, the relationship between the meaning of architecture as culture and architecture for culture is shown on the example of a master's project.

Hydroelectric powerplant Kablić - Impact on the environment and spatial development
Ljubomir Mioč, 2017, master's thesis

Abstract: Hydro energy is simply energy that is taken from water and converted into electricity. The most common method of producing energy from water is taking place in hydropower plants. These facilities represent industrial architecture where water coming down through an area causes turbines to rotate and the energy is captured to run a generator. When creating a hydropower plant for producing hydropower, in some cases, areas must be flooded, which largely affects spatial development during the planning process. In the 21st century, people are becoming increasingly interested in obtaining electricity through hydro potential, especially since water is a clean and renewable source of energy that does not emit toxins and does not pollute the environment. Due to this fact, hydroelectric plants are becoming places of education and receive more visitors, which is developing a new branch of sustainable tourism.

Educationa Park - Technical Academy Maribor
Samanta Rebernak, 2016, master's thesis

Abstract: The Educational Park - Technical Academy Maribor is a new concept with which we wish to enrich the city of Maribor. The main idea is to connect research and education with practical experience, start up companies and the production spaces of big companies. This broad content with multiple additions could be placed in the Business Industrial Zone Tezno, with certain modifications to the existing structures. This thesis deals with the evolution of industrial architecture and especially its importance to the city of Maribor. We present an in depth historical analysis of the company TAM, the predecessor of today’s BIZ Tezno, which was one of the biggest factories with research facilities and educational spaces in the former Yugoslavia. The urban master plan consists of the placement of the afore-mentioned content in the facilities of BIZ Tezno. The idea is to create an open, inviting space that would be a part of city life, with the addition of sports facilities, pool areas, a museum of industrial heritage, a concert hall, etc. As a continuation of the master plan, we also designed an industrial architectural model that shows how the concept of the Educational park can be implemented in the facilities of an established company. We also contemplated the use of renewable materials and, therefore, used timber in the construction. The facility would be an addition to the brand image of any company that values sustainable development and progress.
