1. Removal of inclusions and trace elements from Al-Mg-Si alloys using refining fluxeUroš Kovačec, Franc Zupanič, 2025, original scientific article Abstract: The cleanliness of aluminium alloys has a decisive effect on their properties and performance. In this work, the melts of several Al-Mg-Si alloys (6xxx series) were refined using rotary flux injection (RFI) of the salt fluxes in the industrial environment. A typical charge consisted of 25 % to 30 % external scrap, 45 % to 50 % internal scrap, and 20 % to 30 % primary aluminium. During injection, the entire melt volume was mixed uniformly. The melt was filtered using a porous ring filtration apparatus. The fraction and type of non-metallic inclusions were determined using light and scanning electron microscopy. The contents of alkali and alkaline-earth metals were determined using optical emission spectroscopy. The reduction of alkali and alkaline earth metals and the fraction of nonmetallic inclusions were used to evaluate the process efficiency and the flux selection for the regular production. An analysis of more than 100 industry charges confirmed that the flux selected after the experimental trials, consisting of a mixture of MgCl2, KCl, NaCl and CaF2, was effective in regular production. 7. The neobanks and sustainabilityAleksandra Amon, Timotej Jagrič, Žan Oplotnik, 2024, review article Abstract: The rise of fintech in the financial sector presents a transformative shift towards digitalisation and sustainability on a global scale, leveraging technologies like AI to minimise environmental footprint. Neobanks not only challenge traditional banking models but also offer innovative solutions that align with sustainable objectives. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the impact of neobanks on global sustainability from economic, environmental, and social points of view. A comprehensive literature review of existing literature and current sustainable practices of neobanks was conducted. 8. Microstructure and surface topography study of nanolayered TiAlN/CrN hard coatingPeter Panjan, Peter Gselman, Matjaž Panjan, Tonica Bončina, Aljaž Drnovšek, Mihaela Albu, Miha Čekada, Franc Zupanič, 2022, original scientific article Abstract: The microstructure and surface topography of PVD hard coatings are among the most
important properties, as they significantly determine their mechanical, tribological and other properties. In this study, we systematically analyzed the microstructure and topography of a TiAlN/CrN
nanolayer coating (NL-TiAlN/CrN), not only because such coatings possess better mechanical and
tribological properties than TiAlN and CrN monolayer coatings, mainly because the contours of the
individual layers, in the cross-sectional STEM or SEM images of such coatings, make it easier to
follow topographic and microstructural changes that occurred during its growth. We investigated
the effects of the substrate rotation modes on the microstructure and surface topography of the
NL-TiAlN/CrN coating, as well as on the periodicity of the nanolayer structure. The influence of the
substrate material and the ion etching methods were also studied, while special attention was given to
the interlayer roughness and influence of non-metallic inclusions in the steel substrates on the growth
of the coating. The topographical features of the NL-TiAlN/CrN coating surface are correlated with
the observations from the cross-sectional TEM and FIB analysis. Selected non-metallic inclusions,
covered by the NL-TiAlN/CrN coating, were prepared for SEM and STEM analyses by the focused
ion beam. The same inclusions were analyzed prior to and after deposition. We found that substrate
rotation modes substantially influence the microstructure, surface topography and periodicity of the
NL-TiAlN/CrN layer. Non-metallic inclusions in the substrates cause the formation of shallow craters
or protrusions, depending on their net removal rates during the substrate pretreatment (polishing
and ion etching), as compared to the matrix. 10. The role of communication skills in the development of digital literacy competences using the "DigInGreen"Mateja Forte, Matevž Obrecht, Bojana Slomšek Šlamberger, 2024, published scientific conference contribution Abstract: The paper deals with the field of developing communicationand digital literacy with the help of the lifelong learning model "DigInGreen" for all layers of modern society, including people with special needs. The aim of the authors is a targeted search for new solutions in the field of using digital learning and communication tools for the development of digital competences in the light of"Society 5.0". We focus on a unique way of connecting paradigms, such as: inclusive society, competences, digital, special needs, literacy and lifelong learning. We want to connect the thinking about the communicative ability, an indispensable part of which is an individual's digital literacy and point out, that the circumstances of living in a modern, but still partially exclusive society, limit the development of an individual's communicativeand digital literacy, due to a demonstrated special need or disability. We believe, that the activities we carry out,are a unique example of good practice, because they connect many scientific disciplines and fields into a modern concept of competence development without excluding or conditioning the end user. We combine the paradigms of logistics, informatics, statistics, social studies, linguistics and didactics. All the above and more represent the concept of "Society 5.0", which cannot exist as a scientific construct,if it does not consider the key aspect of one's own identification -social equality and the provision of equal opportunities.
