Connection between the originality level of pupils' visual expression in visual arts lessons and their level of tolerance for diversity

Abstract: The aim of this research was to examine the connection between the originality level in children's expression during visual art lessons and their level of tolerance for difference. The participants comprised primary school pupils from grades one, two and three, a total of 110. It was confirmed that there was a statistically significant difference between the pupils who had an introduction to the lesson using the didactic model of visual problem-based teaching and those who had not. Learning and setting art terminology, the analysis of motifs and explanation, as well as demonstration of art techniques resulted in a higher level of creativity in visual performance, as well as a higher level of tolerance. It can be concluded that, with the proper choice of didactic models in teaching the visual arts, a wide range of pupil attitudes and beliefs can be improved.

The development of spatial representation in the world of new media

Abstract: With the development of spatial perceptions being one of the most important goals of visual art education, we analysed the influence of different didactic tools – dynamic or static in the development of pupils’ spatial perception. After an initial testing, we formed groups considering three different levels in their abilities to represent spatial organizations. In experimental groups pupils were introduced with the contents of the lesson using moving images while in control groups we used static images. Pupils had to make a drawing using the cues to represent space. While pupils from the advanced level did not show differences, in the second group they showed more detailed drawings in the case of the use of dynamic didactic means. Among the less talented pupils, the results showed a difference: improvement in the case of static images while dynamic images produced a kind of insecurity that did not allow the free development of pupils’ expression. We concluded that it is important to use the adequate didactic tools taking into account the goals we wish to achieve: dynamic images foster a unique experience of space but they can create insecurity and negative feelings in pupils that find it difficult to express themselves in terms of two dimensional representations of space.

Autistic spectrum disorders and creativity

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to outline the findings of a pilot study, which compares drawings of typically developed preschool children and children with autistic spectrum disorders in the same age. In the study the Goodenough-Harris Drawing Test (GHDT) (1926; 1963) was used. In this study, the auto-portraits of children from two groups were analyzed concerning such categories as line, size, colour, details. For this the statistical analysis of variance was used. The results of the study show that there are no statistically significant differences in the drawings of studied groups according to the categories line, size, colour, details.

Crossing numbers of Sierpiński-like graphs

Abstract: Obravnavano je prekrižno število grafov Sierpińskega ▫$S(n,k)$▫ in njihovih regularizacij ▫$S^+(n,k)$▫ in ▫$S^{++}(n,k)$▫. Predstavljene so eksplicitne risbe teh grafov, ki so optimalne za ▫$S^+(n,k)$▫ in ▫$S^{++}(n,k)$▫ za vse ▫$n ge 1$▫ in ▫$k ge 1$▫. To sta prvi netrivialni družini grafov "fraktalnega" tipa, za katere je poznano prekrižno število.

MEDNARODNE DENARNE REZERVE CENTRALNIH BANK

Abstract: Mednarodne denarne rezerve centralne banke uporabljajo predvsem za financiranje plačilnobilančnega primanjkljaja ter poravnavo mednarodnih plačilnih obveznosti s strani centralne banke. Med drugim centralne banke mednarodne denarne rezerve uporabljajo za odpravljanje ali preprečevanje nastanka plačilnobilančnih neravnovesij, s tem da vplivajo na devizni tečaj s posegi na deviznem trgu. Torej glavni razlog, da centralne banke imajo mednarodne denarne rezerve je možnost nastanka plačilnobilančnega primanjkljaja, ki ga pa same ne bi mogle ali hotele odpraviti z drugimi mehanizmi plačilnobilančnega prilagajanja. V diplomskem seminarju proučujemo mednarodni denarni sistem, Mednarodni denarni sklad, mednarodne denarne rezerve, pri čemer je poudarek na monetarnem zlatu, deviznih rezervah, rezervni poziciji pri Mednarodnem denarnem skladu ter posebnih pravicah črpanja (SDRs ̶ Special Drawing Rights), mednarodno likvidnost in mednarodne denarne rezerve Slovenije. Pri raziskavi nisem mogla izvesti anketnega vprašalnika ali intervjuja, zato sem podatke poiskala na internetnih straneh posameznih centralnih bank in jih vključila v svojo raziskavo. V raziskavi sem proučevala strukturo mednarodnih denarnih rezerv centralnih bank, torej obseg deviznih rezerv, monetarnega zlata, rezervne pozicije in posebnih pravic črpanja. Sama raziskava nam je pokazala, da so devizne rezerve najpomembnejši sestavni del struktur mednarodnih denarnih rezerv posameznih centralnih bank. Poleg deviznih rezerv je pomembno tudi monetarno zlato, in sicer predvsem za tradicionalna in močna gospodarstva. Rezervna pozicija pri Mednarodnem denarnem skladu in posebne pravice črpanja (SDR) pa imajo manjši pomen v strukturah mednarodnih denarnih rezerv.

Optimal kinematic design of a link-drive mechanism with prescribed velocity characteristics

Abstract: The paper presents an example of a link-drive mechanism for a deep drawing mechanical press. Because of its characteristics such a drive is much more appropriate than conventional crankshaft or eccentric drive. The existing design of the drive has proved unsatisfactory and does not meet all the demands and constraints, which are ideal for deep drawing process. Optimization of the drive is therefore necessary. The intention is to achieve the required velocity characteristics in a defined area of movement. Firstly, the drive is analyzed and a mathematical model is made and prepared for optimization procedure. The process is time-dependent, so it cannot be used directly in the optimization algorithm. Mathematical model is transformed intoa form suitable for the standard non-linear optimization procedure and then optimization is carried out. The method used is sequential quadratic programming. The final objective of the optimization process is to find such dimensions of link-drive members that the given requirements are satisfied in the best possible manner.

Deep drawing of tailored blanks without a blankholder

Abstract: This paper describes experiments involving the deep drawing of tailored blankswithout a blankholder. Four materials with very different forming properties were tested. A rough comparison is given between the production of MIG-welded blanks and laser-welded blanks. The properties of cups produced in this manner are described, and an FEM analysis of this procedure is presented.

Application of numerical simulations in the deep-drawing process and the holding system with segments' inserts

Abstract: The demands for complicated products have increased dramatically over the last few years taking into consideration the utilisation of sheet metal, product quality and process conditions. For reliable product development and stable production process, the use of FEM is necessary. One of the most significant parameters in the sheet metal forming process is the blank holding force. In the research work, the optimisation of the blank holding force was performed with the help of FEM analysis. For the optimisation the geometry and the structure of the blank holder was optimised. The best results were obtained with flexible, segmented blank holders, which enables wider technological window for good parts.

Structure-properties relations of the drawn poly(ethylene terephthalate) filament sewing thread

Abstract: This article presents research into draw ratio influence on the structure-properties relationship of drawn PET filament threads. Structural modification influence due to the drawing conditions, i.e., the birefringence and filament crystallinity, on the mechanical properties was investigated, as well as the shrinkage and dynamic mechanical properties of the drawn threads. Increasing draw ratio causes a linear increase in the birefringence, degree of crystallinity, filament shrinkage, and a decrease in the loss modulus. In addition, loss tangent and glass transition temperature, determined at the loss modulus peak, were increased by drawing. The observed structural changes influence the thread's mechanical properties, i.e., the breaking tenacity, elasticity modulus, and tension at the yield point increase, while breaking extension decreases by a higher draw ratio.
