1. Reliability analysis of operation for cableways by FTA (fault tree analysis) methodSergej Težak, Zdravko Toš, Ivo Jurić, 2010, original scientific article Abstract: This paper examines the reliability of the operation of cableway systems in Slovenia, which has major impact on the quality of service in the mountain tourism, mainly in wintertime. Different types of cableway installations in Slovenia were captured in a sample and fault tree analysis (FTA) was made on the basis of the obtained data. The paper presents the results of the analysis. With these results it is possible to determine the probability of faults of different types of cableways, which types of faults have the greatest impact on the termination of operation, which components of cableways fail most, what is the impact of age of cableways on the occurrence of the faults. Finally, an attempt was made to find if occurrence of faults on individual cableway installation has also impact on traffic on this cableway due to reduced quality of service. 2. Model of sustainable growth and development of the cableway transport system in SloveniaSergej Težak, Ratko Zelenika, Drago Sever, 2011, original scientific article Abstract: The cableway transport system is very important for the Slovenian tourist economy. Within the Slovene transport system, the cableway transport subsystem has a specific role because it allows and ensures access to regions which are difficult to access or completely inaccessible by other transport subsystems owing to the configuration of the area. The quality and development of transport services are directly linked to the introduction of new cableways. New technical achievements, which are nowadays used in cableways, all provide greater capacity and higher speed of cableways, which, however, results in their higher maintenance and exploitation costs.
The cableway transport system is being developed in Slovenia, but not on principles of sustainable development. This paper presents a model of sustainable growth and development of the cableway transport system in Slovenia based on which it is possible to determine assumptions for future growth so that the Slovene cableway transport system would approach standards of such highly developed systems. The new model includes ten essential elements of this system for which growth rates were calculated. 3. Influence of modern cableways on the development of mountain tourist centresSergej Težak, Ivan Mavrin, Ivo Jurić, 2005, other scientific articles Abstract: The paper studies the problem of constructing cableways with advanced technology and their influence on the operation and development of cableway companies from several aspects. Modern cableways with detachable grips enable faster carriage of passengers. They have the possibility of transporting more passengers over the same distances. Recently, this trend of introducing modern cableways has been particularly present in chairlifts which carry skiers. Such chairlifts with detachable grips allow transport of skiers over greater distances and therefore must have respective ski slopes covering wider areas which in turn affects the expansion of the mountain tourist centres. The chairlifts with detachable grips require more knowledge and personnel to manage and maintain them, as well as more investment capital.
