Kim Philby - izdajalec Velike Britanije ali heroj Sovjetske zveze?

Abstract: Obveščevalna dejavnost je v družbi prisotna vse od njenega začetka in je neprecenljivo orožje vsake države. Obveščevalne službe so ključnega pomena pri moči in varnosti posamezne države. Vohunstvo je eden izmed načinov izvajanja te dejavnosti. S pomočjo tajnih sodelavcev države pridobivajo pomembne tajne informacije, ki lahko vplivajo na delovanje države v mednarodnih odnosih. Skozi zgodovino človeštva je delovalo mnogo tajnih sodelavcev, ki so posredovali ključne informacije v obdobjih vojn in krize. Ti so se zapisali v zgodovino kot vojni heroji ali izdajalci svoje domovine. Eden izmed teh je bil tudi Harold Adrian Russell Philby, znan tudi kot Kim Philby izdajalec Velike Britanije in heroj Sovjetske zveze. Bil je vohun britanskega rodu, ki je svoje življenje posvetil komunizmu in njeni ideologiji. V zgodovino se je zapisal kot najuspešnejši dvojni agent v času 2. sv. vojne in v času hladne vojne. Zbiral je obveščevalne podatke v samem središču Britanske obveščevalne službe, ki jih je nato spretno in tajno posredoval Sovjetski zvezi ter tako vplival na številne tajne operacije, posredno tudi na izid 2. sv. vojne. V študentskih letih se je odločil za komunizem in sledil tej ideologiji do konca življenja. S svojim delovanjem v Avstriji je vzbudil pozornost Sovjetske obveščevalne službe, ki ga je rekrutirala z namenom infiltracije Britanske obveščevalne službe. Bil je ustanovitelj in vodja Cambriške vohunske mreže, ki je v času svojega delovanja posredovala pomembne obveščevalne podatke Sovjetski zvezi, in sicer o Veliki Britaniji in o Združenih državah Amerike. Philby se je spretno vzpenjal po hierarhični lestvici Britanske obveščevalne službe in skoraj dosegel sam vrh te organizacije. V času svoje kariere je spoznal veliko vplivnih ljudi, ki so mu zaupali največje skrivnosti obveščevalnega sveta. Philbyjeva kariera je bila polna obveščevalnih uspehov in je trajala dobra tri desetletja, preden so ga odkrile britanske in ameriške oblasti. Usodni udarec je prejel s prebegom sočlanov svoje vohunske naveze Macleana in Burgessa k Sovjetom leta 1951. V svoji dolgoletni karieri je posredoval Sovjetski zvezi več sto tajnih dokumentov in tako ogrozil številne obveščevalne operacije in življenja mnogih tajnih sodelavcev, ki so delovali po vsem svetu. Njegov prispevek se je odražal v mednarodnih odnosih obveščevalnih služb in na političnem področju. Bil je tudi vir navdiha mnogim avtorjem, ki so njegovo kariero dvojnega agenta uporabili pri pisanju literature in snemanju filmov.

Evolucijski algoritmi za učenje agenta umetne inteligence pri igranju splošnih videoiger

Abstract: Videoigre so elektronske igre, ki z uporabnikovo pomočjo na zaslonu pokažejo vizualno povratno informacijo izbranih potez. Njihov osnovni namen je zabava in krajšanje časa. V zadnjih petih letih se je z mednarodnim tekovanjem inteligentnih agentov za igranje iger (angl. General Video Game AI competition; v nadaljevanju GVGAI) začelo novo poglavje. Tekmovanje GVGAI od udeležencev zahteva stvaritev agenta, ki s pomočjo optimizacijskih algoritmov poskuša doseči najboljši možen rezultat. Ker se nam je tekmovanje GVGAI zdelo zelo zanimivo, smo se odločili ustvariti agenta, ki s pomočjo evolucijskih algoritmov pri igranju videoiger, doseže kar se da dober rezultat. Agenta smo zasnovali po pregledu obstoječih optimizacijskih algoritmov. Za razliko od ostalih agentov, naš agent uporablja diferencialno evolucijo, ki še ni bila prikazana na tekmovanjih GVGAI. Dobljene rezultate primerjamo s pomočjo primerjalnega preizkusa GVGAI, vidimo pa da je naš agent statistično signifikantno boljši od večine, a obstaja prostor za napredek.

Uporaba grafičnih pogonov za prvoosebne simulacije

Abstract: V diplomski nalogi smo najprej na kratko predstavili grafični pogon Unity3D in program Blender. Nato smo razložili, kaj je modeliranje z uporabo agentov ter kje se uporablja. Pokazali smo izdelavo posameznih elementov v programu Blender, ki smo jih kasneje združili v stavbo. Za tem je prikazana izdelava simulacije evakuacije v grafičnem pogonu Unity3D, njeno delovanje ter nato tudi testiranje le-te.

Vloga zavarovalnega agenta v procesu sklepanja zavarovanja

Abstract: Osrednja tema diplomskega dela, je vloga zavarovalnega agenta v procesu sklepanja zavarovanja. Najprej bomo teoretično opredelili poslovne procese in pomembne procese v zavarovalništvu. Procese v zavarovalništvu smo razdelili na temeljne in podporne poslovne procese, ki so najpomembnejši. V zavarovalnicah poteka ogromno procesov, ki se med sabo povezujejo in so odvisne, da pride do podpisa pogodbe med stranko in agentom (zavarovalnico). Zelo pomembna je optimizacija poslovnih procesov, ki bo vplivala v prihodnosti na vlogo zavarovalnih agentov. Optimizacija vpliva na delo agentov že danes, s pomočjo zavarovalnih agentov poslovne enote Celje Zavarovalnice Save in zavarovalne agencije Korinita d.o.o., pa smo prišli do odgovorov, kakšen je način njihovega poslovanja, ki ga izvajajo danes. V tretjem poglavju smo se usmerili v proces sklepanja zavarovanja, kjer pride do izraza vloga zavarovalnega agenta. Opisali smo tiste ključne procese, ki so potrebni, da potencialna stranka sklene zavarovalno pogodbo. Zavarovalništvo je področje, kjer roko na srce, večina strank nima ustrezne predstave. Vedo, da imajo nekaj sklenjeno, ne vedo pa kaj točno, predvsem pa ne, kaj njihova zavarovalna polica sploh krije. Za stranke so to nepomembni podatki, stran vržen denar s katerim se bogatijo le zavarovalnice in zavarovalniški agentje. Tako mislijo, dokler ne pride do nesreče, bolezni, poškodbe.., takrat pa postane tista zavarovalna polica, ki so jo plačevali, ali ne, zelo pomembna. Ravno zaradi tega so pomembni odnosi in zaupanje med stranko in zavarovalnim agentom. V nadaljevanju tretjega poglavja smo to tudi opisali. Ker izhajamo iz vloge zavarovalnega agenta, smo v četrtem poglavju izvedli tržno analizo z zavarovalnimi agenti. Anketirali smo 20 zavarovalnih agentov in 3 vodje prodajnih timov (VPT) poslovne enote Zavarovalnice Sava Celje in zavarovalne agencije Korinite d.o.o. V anketi so bili zavarovalni agentje anketirani o njihovem splošnem delu, odnosu in izkušnjami s strankami. S pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, smo prišli do ugotovitev, da so stranke v povprečju zahtevne, a nobena tako zelo, da agentje z njo ne bi našli dogovora ali kompromisa. Po njihovih izkušnjah, strankam zelo veliko pomeni agentova takojšnja razpoložljivost, predvsem ob nastalih škodnih dogodkih, kjer stranke ne vedo kaj storiti. S pomočjo naše analize smo predlagali, da če želi agent biti uspešen v delu s strankami, in obdržati svoj poklic tudi v prihodnosti, naj bo razpoložljiv 24 ur na dan, vse dni v tednu, hkrati pa naj poveča svoj nivo strokovnosti in obseg znanja.

Primerjava in razvoj pristopov računske inteligence za spletno platformo igre Travian: Kingdoms

Abstract: V magistrskem delu se ukvarjamo z nalogo spletnih agentov za igro Travian: Kingdoms. V ta namen razvijemo razširitev za brskalnik, ki deluje v brskalniku Google Chrome in ima sposobnost opravljanja osnovnih akcij v igri, na primer: gradnja, napadanje in trgovanje. Posebno pozornost posvetimo gradnji, kjer želimo poiskati optimalen vrstni red gradbenih nalog. Zaradi kompleksnosti naloge izdelave takega agenta preučimo aplikativnost domene računske inteligence za naš primer. Za spletno platformo igre Travian: Kingdoms tako razvijemo in primerjamo pristope s petimi algoritmi: algoritmom mehke logike, algoritmom diferencialne evolucije, naključnim algoritmom, algoritmom izčrpnega iskanje in požrešnim algoritmom. Na podlagi primerjave rezultatov pristopov ugotovimo, da ima vsak algoritem svoje prednosti in slabosti. V okviru naše naloge se najbolje odreže pristop z algoritmom diferencialne evolucije.

A general overview of enforcement in civil and commercial matters in Macedonia

Abstract: The paper discusses one of the currently most relevant topics in the area of civil law protection in the Republic of Macedonia. In 2005 Macedonia made a drastic step in reforming the system of civil enforcement: the previous court-oriented system of enforcement was replaced with the bailiff-oriented system. The enforcement procedure has ceased of being under the jurisdiction of the court and the enforcement was entrusted to enforcement agents - persons with public authorizations established by law, who conduct the enforcement. With the introduction of the new system of civil enforcement Macedonia strove to eliminate all dysfunctionalities of the system due to the slowness and the inefficiency of the enforcement procedure, which seriously affected the proper administration of justice. The paper gives a general overview regarding the Macedonian civil enforcement system with special emphasis on certain issues that are considered to be of major importance, such as the reforms that were implemented or being implemented regarding the system of civil enforcement, the legal basis of enforcement, the status and role of the enforcement agents in the legal system of the Republic Macedonia, the institutional framework, structure and order of the enforcement proceedings, the enforcement titles, as well as the issue regarding the means of enforcement and the distinction between enforcement and security measures.

Public support of solar electricity and its impact on households - prosumers

Abstract: Background and Purpose: Currently, the idea of households - prosumers is broadly discussed in public governments, mainly in connection with both the energy security issues and the environmental issues. Therefore, the main goal of this paper is to present new agent model of household - prosumer and to compare two scenarios – “off grid household” and “on grid household”. The additional goal is to evaluate the impact of public support of solar electricity on the economic efficiency of household – prosumer projects (systems). Design/Methodology/Approach: The model is structured as a micro-level agent model, representing one household – prosumer. The model has the following general characteristics: one household with own electricity generation (photovoltaic panels), battery and in case of “on grid household” also connection to the grid. The main goal of the agent is to cover electricity consumption in household with minimal costs. The agent model of prosumer is tested and validated, using the empirical data. Results: The highest level of subsidy has significant impact on the economic indicators of selected scenarios. It causes lower investment costs at the beginning of the project and consequently shorter payback period (3-4 years earlier), positive cumulative cash flow, net present value and IRR in earlier period (approximately 5-10 years earlier, depending on the scenario). Conclusion: We can recommend to the government to continue with current system of subsidies, since it contributes to better economic indicators of particular solar electricity projects. On the other hand, the level of subsidy should be at least the same as in current year 2017, for the purposes of representing the significant part of the investment costs. Low level of subsidy has negligible impact on the economic indicators of households – prosumers projects. The developed agent model is suitable for the evaluation of economic impact of public support on households – prosumers.

The indifferent, the good Samaritan, the brave and the agent in Allais paradox situation

Abstract: Background and purpose: Mainstream economic models do not take ownership into consideration. Only after the findings of behavioural economists was endowment effect widely observed. Endowment effect means that goods that one owns are valued higher than other goods not held in endowment. At the same time the principal-agent literature is concerned with how the principal (such as employer) can motivate his agent (say the employee), to act in the principal’s interests and also for their holdings. The main problem is that acting in somebody’s else’s interests can influence our values as well. Moreover, the principal as owner suffers from endowment effect. Both situations can be treated as a risky decision. Risk confuses our rationality in a predictable way. Design/Methodology/Approach: Due to this it was observed how foreign students from various cultural backgrounds decided (n=186 answers) in a risky financial situation by focusing on Allais’ classic gambles. I also presented their preferences over certain and uncertain outcomes regarding the owner of the final win; i.e. how they choose for themselves or on behalf of one of their best friends. One famous experiment - which tested the descriptive validity of the axioms’ expected utility theory - was Allais. Allais handled probabilities and outcomes in high hypothetical payoff financial gamble situations; he found that when offering two similar options, the common consequences will not be removed by the actors. I was interested in what happens when the actors take risks on behalf of others. It was used between-subjects technique on an extended multicultural sample. Regarding the two different topics, three hypotheses were tested (1); based on Allais paradox (2); observed ownerships (3); the comparison of two phenomena. Results: The results show that the subjects responded differently when they needed to decide about their own properties rather when their friends’ properties were concerned. When a sure safe outcome was offered to the subjects, they took more risk on behalf of their friends rather than own. Moreover, the subjects do not take into consideration that the same attributes must be ignored, so Allais paradox was verified. Conclusion: The goal of this paper is then twofold. First, it was established a conceptual link between Allais-type behaviour and ownership problem. Second, Allais axiom was used to characterize different roles. Knowing predictable patterns of seemingly irrational heuristics in human behaviour can improve economic theory. At the same time, this knowledge helps us to avoid irrational decisions.

Validation of agent-based approach for simulating the conversion to organic farming

Abstract: Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study is to describe the principles of the development of parallel system-dynamics and agent-based models of organic farming for the case of Slovenia. The advantage of agent-based modeling is demonstrated by including geospatial information as an agent attribute. The models were compared by the validation, confirming the appropriate level of similarity. Design/Methodology/Approach: Both system-dynamics and agent-based modeling approaches were applied. Statistical methods were used in the validation. Results: The results of the validation confirm the appropriateness of the proposed agent-based model. Introducing additional attributes into the agent-based model provides an important advantage over the system-dynamics model, which serves as the paradigmatic example. Conclusion: A thorough validation and comparison of the results of the system-dynamics and agent-based models indicates the proper approach to combining the methodologies. This approach is promising, because it enables the modeling of the entire agricultural sector, taking each particular farm into account.

A DSL for the development of software agents working within a semantic web environment

Abstract: Software agents became popular in the development of complex software systems,especially those requiring autonomous and proactive behavior. Agents interact with each other within a Multi-agent System (MAS), in order to perform certain defined tasks in a collaborative and/or selfish manner. However, the autonomous, proactive and interactive structure of MAS causes difficulties when developing such software systems. It is within this context,that the use of a Domain-specific Language (DSL) may support easier and quicker MAS development methodology. The impact of such DSL usage could beclearer when considering the development of MASs, especially those working on new challenging environments like the Semantic Web. Hence, this paper introduces a new DSL for Semantic Web enabled MASs. This new DSL is called Semantic web Enabled Agent Language (SEA_L). Both the SEA_L user-aspects and the way of implementing SEA_L are discussed in the paper. The practical use of SEA_L is also demonstrated using a case study which considers the modeling of a multi-agent based e-barter system. When considering the language implementation, we first discuss the syntax of SEA_L and we show how the specifications of SEA_L can be utilized during the code generation of real MAS implementations. The syntax of SEA_L is supported by textual modeling toolkits developed with Xtext. Code generation for the instance models are supplied with the Xpand tool.
