Vodenje koncentracije solnega aerosola halogeneratorja

Abstract: Vsebina magistrskega dela zajema razvoj naprave za proizvajanje solnega aerosola, ki je namenjena za izvajanje haloterapije. Konstrukcija naprave, ki jo je bilo treba narediti iz ločenih segmentov, ki bodo enostavno snemljivi ter s tem omogočali čiščenje naprave po vsaki terapiji, je bila narejena s pomočjo 3D-modeliranja in 3D-tiska. Uporabljen je nov pristop merjenja solnih aerosolov, ki skupaj z brezžičnim modulom pošilja podatke na mikrokontrolno enoto halogeneratorja. Opravili smo meritve različnih nastavitev hitrosti vpihovanja aerosolov, s čimer smo pridobili dinamično obnašanje sistema, za katerega smo določili matematični model. Na podlagi odzivov smo načrtali PI-regulator, pri katerem smo za optimalno delovanje sistema v regulacijsko zanko vstavili neposredno vejo, t. i. feedforward branch. S tem smo dosegli uspešno regulacijo aerosolov, ker pa je razvoj naprave še v začetni fazi, so prisotne motnje v delovanju, ki bodo v prihodnosti odpravljene in optimizirane.

Au-nanoparticle synthesis via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis with a separate evaporation zone

Abstract: Some experiments were conducted in connection with the gold-nanoparticle production in an effort to produce a more accurate model for determining the gold-nanoparticle synthesis with a modified ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP). As previous experi- ments with gold nanoparticles yielded nanoparticles of various shapes (spherical, triangular, cylindrical, etc.), a focus on synthesizing only spherical nanoparticles is underway, as a mixture of different shapes is difficult to characterize and utilize. One of the factors for the particle formation is droplet evaporation. In an attempt to produce the optimum conditions for droplet evaporation with the solvent diffusion and precipitation, a separate furnace and a separate reaction-gas inlet were used. This modification separates the evaporation stage from the reaction stage, compared to the standard USP set-up. Using relatively low temperatures, from 60 °C up to 140 °C, for the evaporation stage provides for more time and better conditions for the diffusion of the solvent into the center of a droplet and a higher probability of forming a spherical particle.

Composition of organic compounds adsorbed on PM10 in the air above Maribor

Abstract: Organic compounds in atmospheric particulate matter above Maribor were analysed in 120 samples of PM10 sampled according to the EN 12341:2014 reference method. Organic compounds compositions were investigated together with the primary and secondary sources of air pollution. Silylation as derivatisation method was used for the GC-MS determination of volatile and semi-volatile polar organic compounds. Distribution of fatty acids, n-alkanes and iso-alkanes, phthalate esters, siloxanes, different sterols, various sugars and sugar alcohols, compounds of lignin and resin acids, dicarboxylic acids from photochemical reactions, PAHs, organic nitrogen compounds and products from secondary oxi- dation of monoterpenes were determined. The use of silicone grease for the purpose of lubricating the impact surface of the air sampler caused higher values of gravimetric determination. Solid particles may have been bounced from the surface of a greasy impact plate and re-entrained within the air stream and then collected on a sample filter. The carryover of siloxanes was at least from 5% up to 15% of the accumulated particles weight, depending on ambient temperature. This was the reason that the gravimetric results for determination of PM10 according to the standard EN 12341:2014 were overestimated.
