Petar Novak, 2018, master's thesis

Abstract: V namenski rabi mestnega načrta Zagreba – Generalni urbanistični plan (GUP) mesta Zagreb – je za območje industrijskega kompleksa nekdanjega Paromlina predvidena M2, kar pomeni mešano uporabo s poudarkom na javne dejavnosti. Arhitekturni del naloge predstavlja vizijo prostorskega razvoja predmetnega območja s poudarkom na umeščanje nove centralne stavbe KGZ-ja v novozasnovani urbanistični kontekst. Osnovni cilj je preizkusiti možnosti transformacije zanemarjenega območja v samem središču mesta v prostor intenzivnega javnega življenja z dominantnimi javnimi vsebinami.

The function of Zagreb as a factor of the transformation of the greater Zagreb girdle
Petar Feletar, 2009, review article

Abstract: With an almost monocentric development, the most powerful central functions in Croatia are concentrated in Zagreb. These functions have a powerful influence on the transformation of the area towards which they gravitate. This influence is greatest on the geographic area of the Greater Zagreb girdle area, i.e. Zagreb County. The processes of the transformation of the Greater Zagreb girdle relate above all to the urbanisation and suburbanisation of the area. These processes extend to rural areas in a very spatially differentiated way, depending primarily on the level of development and the spatial distribution of the transport network. Spatial differentiation and the level of urbanisation and suburbanisation in the Zagreb environs are illustrated through an analysis of the intensity and distribution of daily migration in Zagreb and through expressed changes in the spatial distribution of inhabitation. These processes were considered to be in parallel in the period from 1948 to 2001, the period of the most intensive change.

Capabilities of statistical residual-based control charts in short-and long-term stock trading
Berislav Žmuk, 2016, original scientific article

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to introduce and develop additional statistical tools to support the decision-making process in stock trading. The prices of CROBEX10 index stocks on the Zagreb Stock Exchange were used in the paper. The conducted trading simulations, based on the residual-based control charts, led to an investor’s profit in 67.92% cases. In the short run, the residual-based cumulative sum (CUSUM) control chart led to the highest portfolio profits. In the long run, when average stock prices were used and 2-sigma control limits set, the residual-based exponential weighted moving average control chart had the highest portfolio profit. In all other cases in the long run, the CUSUM control chart appeared to be the best choice. The acknowledgment that the SPC methods can be successfully used in stock trading will, hopefully, increase their use in this field.

Slovenci na Hrvaškem
Saša Cvitan, 2016, undergraduate thesis

Abstract: Slovenske narodne manjšine živijo po svetu in v sosednjih državah Italiji, Avstriji, na Madžarskem in na Hrvaškem. Njihov položaj je ljudem v matični domovini manj znan in o njenih pripadnikih vedo relativno malo. V diplomski nalogi bomo predstavili slovensko skupnost v hrvaškem okolju, temeljne zgodovinske, zemljepisne, družbene, sociološke, politične, kulturne in jezikovne okoliščine, v katerih živi, deluje in se ohranja že vrsto let.

Fear of crime in Zagreb, Croatia
Irma Kovčo Vukadin, Tajana Ljubin, 2012, original scientific article

Abstract: Purpose: This study examines the three-dimensional concept of fear of crime and has three aims: 1) to investigate gender differences in the emotional, cognitive and behavioural dimensions of fear of crime; 2) to investigate the impact of victimization on different dimensions of fear of crime in men and women; and 3) to investigate the relation of incivilities to different dimensions of fear of crime. Design/Methods/Approach: Data for the study were gathered from the Fear of Crime Study which included participants living in the Croatian capital. The criteria variables included measures of the three dimensions of fear of crime (affective, cognitive and behavioural). Incivilities and prior victimization were predictors, while age and education were control variables. Findings: There was no difference between men and women in the perception of insecurity when walking alone in a neighbourhood after dark, either in the perceived likelihood of victimization or in perceived incivility. The findings suggest that there are some differences in the correlation pattern of the three analysed dimensions of fear of crime in the female and male samples. Hierarchical linear regressions show that in the male sample, victimization due to theft was positively related and sexual victimization was negatively related to perceived insecurity, while in women victimization added significantly only to protective strategies. In both the male and female sample, incivilities made a significant independent contribution to an explanation of the perception of endangerment, the likelihood of victimization and the seriousness of crime consequences. In addition, the contribution of some different patterns of incivilities to the dimensions of fear of crime was established for the male and female sample. Research Limitations/Implications: The research is limited to the Croatian capital. Future research should include a representative sample of the whole state. Practical implications: The results indicate the need for gender differentiation in programs for the greater safety of citizens. Originality/Value: The article gives a valuable insight into different dimensions and gender differences related to fear of crime. It also suggests the need for further clarity of operationalization.
