Communication in tourism : tour(ist) guides, storytelling and the DRAMMA model
Jasna Potočnik Topler, Jane Webb, Vita Petek, Mateja Kregar Gliha, 2024, independent scientific component part or a chapter in a monograph

Abstract: This chapter discusses the significance of communication in business growth, particularly in the context of the tourism industry and in the profession of a tour(ist) guide as tour(ist) guides are seen as key figures in tourist communication, often referred to as "spokespersons," "educators," and "entertainers." They play a significant role in conveying correct information while incorporating engaging stories and facts to enhance the tourist experience. The chapter touches the topic of storytelling that has become increasingly important in tourism as it can bridge the gap between the present, past, and future, evoking strong emotions of tourists. In addition to that, the text discusses the DRAMMA model (that emphasizes the importance of detachment recovery, autonomy, mastery, meaning, and affiliation in leisure experience) and its influence on vacation-time happiness.
Keywords: communication skills, tourism, tour guides, tourist guides, storytelling, DRAMMA model

Finančna analiza izbranih podjetij v dejavnosti telekomunikacij

Obravnavamo tri podjetja, ki delujejo v okviru telekomunikacijske dejavnosti (SKD: 61.100), in sicer: A1 Slovenija, d. d., Telekom Slovenije, d. d., in Telemach Slovenije, d. o. o. K temu so odločilno prispevali rezultati Altmanovega modela, saj so pridobljene vrednosti Z v večini pod 1,81, kar nakazuje, da so podjetja v resnih težavah, kjer obstaja povečano tveganje stečaja.

Izolacija in priprava celičnih linij ledvic z namenom razvoja novih in vitro modelov nefrotoksičnosti
Tadej Petreski, 2025, doctoral dissertation

Abstract: Ledvice so ključne za številne homeostatske mehanizme in so odgovorne za velik delež izločanja snovi iz telesa, zaradi česar so posebej dovzetne za delovanje nefrotoksičnih spojin. Rezultat tega sta dve celični liniji, poimenovani MFUM-RPTEC-1 in MFUM-RPTEC-2.

Abstract: This study investigated the impact of information systems (IS) success on Project Success (PS) within hybrid and remote work environments, drawing empirical evidence from the world's largest consulting firm. By integrating the DeLone and McLean IS success model with established PS frameworks, the research examined how IS components—system quality, user satisfaction, and use/ intent to use—influence key PS dimensions: project management success, impact on the team, impact on the customer, and project investment success. Data from 198 employees were analyzed using structural equation modeling, confirming all hypothesized relationships. Results revealed that IS net benefits significantly enhance PS across all dimensions, while system quality and user satisfaction further drive IS effectiveness. The study underscores the critical role of robust digital infrastructure in optimizing project outcomes, offering theoretical insights and practical recommendations for organizations navigating hybrid work models. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

Quantum-classical correspondence between quantum chaos and finite-time classical dynamics
Qian Wang, Marko Robnik, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: Although the importance of quantum-classical correspondence has been recognized in numerous studies of quantum chaos, its usefulness in understanding quantum chaos through finite-time classical dynamics remains less well understood. We address this question in this work by performing a detailed analysis of how the quantum chaotic measure relates to the chaoticity of the finite-time classical trajectories. A good correspondence between them has been revealed in time- dependent and many-body systems, both of them being of the mixed type. In particular, we show that the dependence of the quantum chaotic measure on the chaoticity of finite-time trajectories can be well captured by a function that is independent of the system. This strongly implies the universal validity of the finite-time quantum-classical correspondence. Our findings enhance the understanding of quantum-classical correspondence and provide a promising approach to explore the ergodic hierarchy in quantum systems.

Numerical modeling of non-Fourier bioheat transfer in multilayer biological tissue using BEM to simulate dynamic thermography in skin tumor diagnostics
Ivan Dominik Horvat, Jurij Iljaž, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: This paper presents a novel approach for modeling non-Fourier dual-phase-lag bioheat transfer in multilayer biological tissue, aimed at simulating dynamic thermography for the early detection of skin tumors at Clark II and IV stages. The proposed algorithm, based on the boundary element method, enables the assignment of distinct thermophysical properties and non-Fourier relaxation time parameters to each tissue layer, thereby enhancing the realism of bioheat transfer modeling. Results show that accounting for non-Fourier effects significantly impacts the transient thermal contrast between tumor and healthy skin, particularly in Clark IV tumors and at higher relaxation times. These findings support the development of more accurate and physiologically realistic models of heat transfer in complex biological structures, and advance the application of dynamic thermography in early skin tumor detection and the diagnosis of other dermatological conditions.

From zero to one: a new perspective on the fuzzy front end of innovation and the Stage-Gate® model
Peter Alešnik, Igor Vrečko, Iztok Palčič, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: The Stage-Gate® model has historically provided a systematic framework for New Product Development (NPD). However, the evolving landscape of innovation necessitates continuous enhancement. This paper redefines the model's foundational structure by advocating for the recognition of the Discovery Phase as Stage 1, emphasizing its essential role in aligning initial ideation with strategic goals, streamlining processes, and enhancing NPD efforts. Using a mixed-methods approach, including a systematic literature review, synthesis of illustrative examples and secondary data and case study analysis, the research demonstrates that formalizing the Discovery Phase improves earlystage decision-making, enhances alignment between front-end exploration and downstream execution and mitigates risks by supporting more informed project development. Synthesised sectoral examples show that incorporating the Discovery Phase improves feasibility, reduces risk, and boosts efficiency. For example, simulation planning early in innovation process increased manufacturing throughput by 52 %, while early IP checks lowered infringement risk. The proposed revision boosts the Stage-Gate® model's adaptability and integration with modern methodologies such as AI, Agile, Lean Startup, Design Thinking and TRIZ. The findings highlight how this change promotes a comprehensive approach to NPD. The implications extend to practical applications and future research, offering organizations a flexible framework that meets modern market and technological demands.

Business model Canvas of a company for organizing cultural experiences and presentations in hotel lobbies : 1st cycle professional bachelor's studies graduate thesis
Vasilisa Nesterova, 2025, undergraduate thesis

Abstract: This thesis explores how art exhibitions and cultural events held in hotel lobbies can become a successful business model. The concept combines hospitality and cultural tourism to create unique experiences for hotel guests while generating financial benefits for hotels. The study applies the Business Model Canvas (Osterwalder and Pigneur, 2010) to develop a clear business plan, which analyses customer segments, value propositions, revenue streams, and cost structures. The primary customers are hotels and tourists. Hotels benefit from increased guest loyalty and additional revenues, while tourists enjoy a richer cultural experience. A financial comparison of two event formats shows that both can be profitable. A small setup model has a higher profit margin (27.06%), while a medium setup model with a lower profit margin (19.24%) offers a broader range of services. Interviews with hotel managers, artists, and tourism experts confirm strong interest in these events highlighting, however, marketing, logistics and budgeting challenges. The thesis concludes that incorporation of cultural events into hotel services attracts more guests, strengthens hotel branding, and supports local artists making it a promising business opportunity.

Detekcija jajčnih mešičkov v ultrazvočnih volumnih z globokimi nevronskimi mrežami na osnovi modela transformer : magistrsko delo
Žiga Pečar, 2025, master's thesis

Abstract: V okviru magistrskega dela smo razvili in implementirali tri metode za detekcijo jajčnih mešičkov in jajčnikov v 3D ultrazvočnih volumnih z uporabo globokih nevronskih mrež, osnovanih na arhitekturah tipa transformer.
