1. Detection and perception of colour regarding gender and ageDarinka Fakin, Lavra Smoljanović, Alenka Ojstršek, 2020, original scientific article Abstract: People have been accompanied by colours throughout the history and through all periods of life. In different eras, colours were also associated with status symbols of different social classes or mythological beliefs. We are often addressed emotionally by colour combinations, since colour perception is always and exclusively a sensorial experience. Various colour combinations can have a pleasant effect on us or leave us cold as well as in a state of shock. All of the above, presented the starting point of this research. Detection and perception of sensations through colour was accomplished by preparing a questionnaire related to 12 selected colours. The research included 302 participants from Slovenia, of both sexes and different ages, born from 1940 to 2004. From the obtained results, it could be concluded how popular a certain colour is in a material, design and spiritual sense. Moreover, the results were validated and compared regarding the gender and age of participants, and further compared with the results of previous studies. 3. Where Does Weekly Outdoor Education Lead To: The Potential of Joy and SatisfactionKatja Gomboc, 2017, master's thesis Abstract: This research was set as a qualitative (descriptive) case study that portrayed the implementation and analysis of outdoor education teaching in the first grade of one primary school in Slovenia. As part of the qualitative and descriptive research I conducted interviews that researched the essence and importance of feeling/experiencing joy and satisfaction during experiencing outdoor education, as well as its connection to holistic learning dimensions. During the research period I spent five special outdoor learning days, and afterwards conducted all together 95 interviews with students. Almost every day students answered up to eight open-ended and close-ended semi-structured questions that focused on their emotions and emotional reasons while learning outside. The results showed that, while learning outdoors, students developed their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional holistic sides by forming expectations and having experiences, developed aesthetic and emotional attributes through listening tasks, developed emotional, spiritual, and cognitive traits by observing and interacting with animals. The results pointed out that all holistic learning aspects appeared during free outdoor play and outdoor learning in general, where emotions with an emphasis on joy and satisfaction played the essential roles. This study showed a good example of outdoor education implementation in a school curriculum, and also offered a new perspective on how to include the potential of joy and satisfaction into learning.
