The development of ARM-based portable and adaptable power supply

Abstract: This master’s thesis describes a development of a portable and adjustable power supply. The first part of the thesis introduces us to the working principle of power supplies in general. Next, we present a functional design of a portable and adjustable power supply and a list of its required functionalities. Chapter “switched-mode power supplies” introduces us to the theoretical basics of the said power supplies, while chapter “linear regulators” introduces us to different types of linear regulators and tells us more about how they work. Everything regarding which microcontroller was used and why it was used is described in the “ARM microcontroller” chapter. Besides microcontrollers, it also talks about which integrated development environment is used and how the microcontroller is programmed. A full and detailed description of each part of the analog circuitry can be found in the chapter “describing the development of the portable and adjustable power supply”. Lastly, the user interface is described in detail.

Development of RFID/NFC based access control system

Abstract: The master thesis describes the development of NFC/RFID access control system based on the ARM platform. The access control system is widely used in different applications. The goal of this thesis is to develop a smart NFC access control system used for accessing an elevator, where users could use only NFC tags to access a specific floor. The design of the proposed NFC access control system is based on the ARM platform, while the developed NFC antenna guarantees wide scanning range. At the end of the thesis the results are presented.

Development of smart energy meter using arm platform

Abstract: This master thesis describes the development of smart electricity energy meter on the ARM platform. In general, the commercial electrical energy meters are measuring only the total active energy, therefore, users cannot also monitor other important power consumption parameters. The goal of this thesis is to develop a prototype of smart ARM based energy meter, which is capable to measure several power consumption parameters and display them on a webpage in real-time. In the thesis the complete design of the ARM based smart energy meter is presented in detail. Further, the development of user interface for displaying measured data on the webpage in real-time is also presented. These results are presented both in textual and graphical form. Additionally, the theory of electric power consumption measurements and some commercial energy meters are presented.
