Experimental investigation of the quality and productivity of software factories based development

Abstract: Software organizations are always looking for approaches that help improve the quality and productivity of developed software products. Quality software is easy to maintain and reduces the cost of software development. The Software Factories (SF) approach is one of the approaches to provide such benefits. In this paper, the quality and productivity benefits of the SF approach were examined and evaluated with an experiment involving two treatments - the traditional and the SF approach. For the purposes of this experiment, the Goal – Question – Metric (GQM) approach was used. Participants were grouped into thirty two teams. There were sixteen projects available. The results were evaluated and presented through quality and productivity criteria, which were used for the experimental study. The results showed that the Software Factories approach was significantly better than the traditional approach.

PRIDOBITVE VPELJAVE METODE SCRUM

Abstract: Pojem agilnosti ter z njim povezane metode razvoja programske opreme so dandanes že tako razširjene, da verjetno skorajda ni IT strokovnjaka, ki ne bi vsaj slišal za katero izmed njih. Obstaja namreč mnogo metod, ki se predstavljajo kot agilne. V diplomskem delu tako opisujemo kaj pravzaprav je agilnost in kaj so tisti ključni faktorji, ki neko metodo naredijo agilno, opisujemo po kakšnih vrednotah in načelih pravzaprav delujejo agilne metode ter kaj so tiste ključne razlike med njimi in vsemi ostalimi, tradicionalnimi metodami. V nadaljevanju raziskujemo kako agilne metode dojemajo tisti, ki delujejo po njihovih načelih, ter kako jih dojemajo naročniki, ki aktivno sodelujejo v procesih razvoja. V diplomskem delu predstavljamo še pomembnejše agilne metode razvoja programske opreme, podajamo njihova osnovna načela in priporočila ter opisujemo kritične dejavnike uspeha na področju agilnega razvoja programske opreme. Podrobno opisujemo metodo Scrum ter opravljamo raziskavo njenih vplivov tako na IT podjetja kot tudi na njihove zaposlene doma in po svetu. V zaključku diplomskega dela podajamo rezultate opravljene raziskave.
