Behavioral expectations of business school students concerning extreme climate events : regional insights and implications for Southeast Europe
Nikša Alfirević, Darko Rendulić, Sonja Mlaker Kač, 2025, original scientific article

Abstract: Abstract: This article presents the role of environmental attitudes and self-efficacy in shaping the behavioral expectations of business students in Southeast Europe regarding extreme climate events. Conducted across twelve public and private business schools in five countries, the study provides a baseline for comparison with similar empirical research. Using multiple linear regression, we analyze the relationship between the proenvironmental attitudes and environmental self-efficacy to the students’ climate change expectations. Our results indicate that pro-environmental attitudes significantly predict the students’ expectations of extreme climate events, while environmental self-efficacy plays a secondary but statistically significant role. These findings extend the extant literature by focusing on the role of sustainability in business school curricula and the potential positive outcomes of experiential learning methods and approaches.

The perception of sustainability competences in logistics and supply chains
Mateja Čuček, Sonja Mlaker Kač, Matevž Obrecht, Lazar Pavić, 2024, original scientific article

Abstract: The European Union (EU) has adopted a huge number of guidelines and policies to promote sustainability in different sectors. The study focuses on the twin green and digital transformation, which is particularly highlighted in the context of the European Green Deal, a comprehensive strategy to tackle climate change and environmental degradation while embracing digital innovation for economic growth and societal progress. These guidelines and policies show the EU's commitment to promoting sustainability in different sectors and to achieving the objectives of climate change, environmental protection and sustainable development. One of the areas that plays an important role for the individuals as well as for the economy is logistics and supply chain management. The main research question of this study is to investigate the relationship between the basic sociodemographic characteristics and their perception of the importance of sustainability competences in logistics and supply chains in the future. The study was carried using survey questionnaire on employees in the field of logistics and supply chains in Slovenia. The results show the main statistically significant differences in these perceptions are primary based on differences in employees demographic characteristics, such as gender, age and level of education of the employees.

Primerjava poslanstev, vizij, ciljev in izjav o družbeni odgovornosti v izbranih slovenskih ter skrbskih logističnih podjetjih : magistrsko delo
Marko Miljković, 2024, master's thesis

Abstract: V magistrskem delu smo preučevali podjetja s področja logistike in oskrbovalnih verig ter predstavili njihove vizije, poslanstva, cilje in družbeno odgovornost.

Investigating the impact of supply chain management practices on customer relationship management objectives : doctoral dissertation
Nourhan Ahmed Saad, 2023, doctoral dissertation

Abstract: Mikro, mala in srednje velika podjetja (v nadaljevanju MMSP) imajo pomembno vlogo pri gospodarski rasti in razvoju zlasti držav v razvoju in vzponu.

Investigating the impact of resilience, responsiveness, and quality on customer loyalty of MSMEs : empirical evidence
Nourhan Ahmed Saad, Sara El Gazzar, Sonja Mlaker Kač, 2022, original scientific article

Abstract: Due to the importance of the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) sector and the negative implications of COVID-19, which resulted in decreasing resource availability, shortages of supply, declining consumer demand and requirements, and a lack of consumer satisfaction and loyalty, this research investigates the impact of resilience, responsiveness, and quality on customer loyalty in MSMEs. An online questionnaire was conducted on MSMEs’ end consumers in the Egyptian context. The analysis was conducted through Amos and SPSS, and the research hypotheses were tested through covariance-based structural equation modelling for 891 valid questionnaires. The findings exposed that there is a positive significant impact for operational resilience (flexibility and technology adoption), responsiveness (delivery fulfillment and speed and after-sale service), and product/service quality on customer loyalty in terms of behavioral, attitudinal dimensions. It contributes to understanding how MSMEs could enhance their sustainable performance (resilience, responsiveness, quality) to reach better customer loyalty. This research presents insights on how the MSMEs sector can adapt to the dynamic business environment in terms of COVID-19 crisis and consumer behavior, which has changed the nature and needs of the market and consumers. In addition, this research extends the theories of Resource-Based View (RBV), Dynamic Capability View (DCV), and Theory of Consumption Value (TCV) in an empirical contribution through filling the gap in understanding consumers’ needs in terms of resilience, responsiveness, and quality.

Sebastjan Lazar, Vojko Potočan, Sonja Mlaker Kač, Gözde Yanginlar, Dorota Klimecka-Tatar, Matevž Obrecht, 2022, original scientific article

Abstract: Companies are increasingly aware that employees are an important factor in success, so they pay more and more attention to them. Because of that, organizational culture and normative commitment are also included as ex-tremely important factors. The research includes a systematic and comprehensive review of the literature and at the same time obtaining and analysing data from practice through a survey. The research focuses on employees from the logistics departments in the supply chain of electronic component production and supply. Group of com-panies across Europe were included in the survey (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Re-public, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine). The research demonstrates the realization that the types of classification of organizational culture have different effects on direct and indirect normative commitment. Gender differences were also found. The re-search-based on the calculated average mean values shows the classifications of organizational culture and nor-mative commitment. The latter follows the organizational culture with minor deviations. The order of classifica-tion of organizational culture follows the current economic situation, where according to the studied criteria, the first is a culture of the market. The research shows that men’s rate of normative commitment is better than wom-en's, while in organizational culture the situation is exactly the opposite. One of the most significant findings is based on the Pearson correlation coefficient with the SPSS program was found that, according to the classifica-tion, Hierarchy culture has a positive effect on indirect normative commitment.
