Analiza tekočega digestata iz bioplinarne
Uroš Bagari, 2019, undergraduate thesis

Abstract: V okviru diplomske naloge sem izvedel primerjavo dveh bioplinarn (bioplinarna Nemščak in bioplinarna Jezera), analiziral energetsko učinkovitost bioplinarn ter kemijske in okoljske parametre tekočega digestata.

Tanja Labohar, 2019, undergraduate thesis

Izolacija celuloznih nanokristalov z uporabo različnih kislin

Redukcijska barvila: konvencionalni postopek barvanja in ekološke alternative
Mojca Božič, Vanja Kokol, 2006, review article

Abstract: Članek obravnava redukcijska barvila. V uvodu sta podana pomen in uporabnost teh barvil, temu pa sledita opis konvencionalnega barvanja in opis samih barvil. Prikazana je ekotoksikološka problematika barvanja z redukcijskimi barvili in kot posledica tega razvoj novih alternativnih postopkov, kot so: tehnološki (Sistem pro VAT plus, Conmpress C-plus, Caledon SF fl postopek), elektrokemijski (indirektni z uporabo mediatorja, direktni in elektrokatalitično hidrogeniranje) in bio-postopki (zamenjava toksičnih reducentov z biorazgradljivim in encimski postopki). Podano je še pospeševanje samega procesa (barvanja) ob souporabi fizikalnih metod, kot sta ultrazvok in elektromagnetno polje.

Barvanje volne z rastlinskimi barvili in vrednotenje vzorcev z uporabo barvnega sistema CIE

To so navadna breza, navadna lakota, navadni oreh in velika kopriva. Obarvane vzorce volnene preje smo barvnometrično ovrednotili z uporabo barvnega sistema CIE in jih grafično prikazali v CIE a*b* barvnem diagramu.

Magnetic field effects on redox potential of reduction and oxidation agents
Mojca Božič, Lucija Črepinšek-Lipuš, Vanja Kokol, 2008, original scientific article

Abstract: Redox potentials of two reducing (sodium dithionite and glucose) and two oxidizing (hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite) agents were monitored at various concentrations and at different temperatures for 30-75 minutes after the exposure of their water solutions (glucose and hypochlorite solutions once; sodium dithionite and hydrogen peroxide solutions one, two and/or three-times) to the static magnetic field of flux density of 0.9 V s M-2 . The aim of the investigation was to suggest improvements, i.e., intensification and stability, of the reduction-oxidation ability of selected agents applicable in textile fibre processing, primarily bleaching and vat dyeing. Results of the experiments show that magnetic treatment (of solutions) raises both the reducing ability of glucose and the oxidation ability of hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite, promising some technological and economical benefits for the textile industry as well as forother fields of chemistry.

Ecological alternatives to the reduction and oxidation processes in dyeing with vat and sulphur dyes
Mojca Božič, Vanja Kokol, 2008, review article

Abstract: This article gives a summary of the most commonly used ecologically unfriendly processes for the reduction and oxidation of vat and sulphur dyes. It also describes the new alternatives that are in the development stage and could be important in the near future. Sodium dithionite as the dominant reducing agent produces large amounts of sodium sulphate, and also toxic sulphite and thiosulphate as by-products. Consequently, high amounts of hydrogen peroxide and alkali are required for the treatment of effluents, which add to the cost of the process. Attempts have been made to use organic biodegradable reducing agents, enzymes, catalytic hydrogenation, and also indirect or direct, electrochemical reductive methods that employ a redox mediator (electron-carrier). The reduction has also been carried out via the dye radical molecule or, in the case of indigo, by direct electrochemical reduction using graphite as the electrode material. Physical techniques, for example using ultrasound, magnetic fields or UV have been shown to be effective only when used to accelerate methods using classical reduction and oxidation processes. However, although these methods offer some environmental benefits, there is still no satisfactory alternative reducing and/or oxidising agent available today.
