Assembly line optimization using MTM time standard and simulation modeling—A case study

Abstract: This study presents an approach to solving the assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) using the Methods-Time Measurement (MTM) time standard and simulation software. ALBP is a common problem in manufacturing where a set of tasks with fixed times must be assigned to a series of sequential workstations in order to minimize the total idle time and reduce the assembly cost per product. This study uses MTM, a widely used production process scheduling method, to create a new time analysis of an assembly process that was previously balanced using the Work-Factor method and time study. This literature review shows that there are a lack of combinations of updated time analyses with newer simulation approaches in the current literature, and this was the motivation for the present work. An assembly line simulation was performed using Simio software to evaluate different design options and operating scenarios. The results show that the use of MTM and simulation can help minimize idle time and improve assembly line performance, thereby reducing costs and increasing efficiency. This study shows that the approach of using MTM and simulation is effective in solving ALBP and is a useful tool for manufacturing companies to improve the performance of their assembly lines and reduce costs.

Optimizacija in ergonomska študija delovnega mesta predsestave iztoka kave : magistrsko delo

Abstract: Delovno mesto predsestave iztoka kave v podjetju BSH Hišni aparati d. o. o. Nazarje ne dosega želenega letnega števila končnih izdelkov. Bistvo magistrskega dela je določitev najboljše rešitve scenarija optimizacije in ergonomska študija delovnega mesta. V uvodnem delu je predstavljen problem in postopek rešitve problema. V nadaljevanju sta predstavljena podjetje in programska oprema, uporabljena v magistrskem delu. V osrednjem delu je opis delovnih mest, postopek pridobitve 3D modela, vizualizacija proizvodnje, simulacija proizvodnje in ergonomska študija delovnega mesta. V zaključnem delu so predstavljene vse rešitve in njihovi scenariji; nato sledi izbor najboljše rešitve.

Ergonomska študija in optimizacija delovnega mesta končne kontrole : diplomsko delo

Abstract: V diplomskem delu je ročno in s pomočjo programske opreme Human simulation Jack ocenjeno delovno mesto končne kontrole v podjetju KLS Ljubno, d. o. o. Bistvo dela sta ergonomska študija in optimizacija delovnega mesta. V uvodnem delu je predstavljeno podjetje, pomen ergonomije in obrazložitev, kako se bom lotil rešitve problema. V osrednjem delu je prikazana celotna analiza delovnega mesta in izsledki, ki so bili pridobljeni ročno ter z uporabo programske opreme. V zaključnem delu pa so predstavljeni optimizacija in predlogi za izboljšanje delovnega mesta, z največjim poudarkom na uvedbi kontrolne linije za končno kontrolo.
