Software self-hosting : a systematic review of quantitative research☆

Abstract: In an era marked by heightened concerns surrounding personal privacy and data security, software self-hosting has gained significance as a means for individuals and organizations to reclaim control over their digital assets. This systematic review aims to identify relevant research gaps in the quantitative analysis of self-hosting, primarily focusing on studies employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and regression techniques. Employing a refined version of the Systematic Mapping Process, we analyzed 49 quantitative research papers whose concepts were grouped into 12 substantive groups. The findings reveal a predominant concentration on constructs related to the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), with limited exploration of self-hosting specifically, overshadowed by an emphasis on cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and privacy aspects. Our review provides a comprehensive overview of the existing literature and highlights the need for more focused research on self-hosting itself. This systematic review serves as a foundational resource for researchers and practitioners aimed at advancing the discourse on self-hosting.

Models of privacy and disclosure on social networking sites: a systematic literature review

Abstract: Social networking sites (SNSs) are used widely, raising new issues in terms of privacy and disclosure. Although users are often concerned about their privacy, they often publish information on social networking sites willingly. Due to the growing number of users of social networking sites, substantial research has been conducted in recent years. In this paper, we conducted a systematic review of papers that included structural equations models (SEM), or other statistical models with privacy and disclosure constructs. A total of 98 such papers were found and included in the analysis. In this paper, we evaluated the presentation of results of the models containing privacy and disclosure constructs. We carried out an analysis of which background theories are used in such studies and have also found that the studies have not been carried out worldwide. Extending the research to other countries could help with better user awareness of the privacy and self-disclosure of users on SNSs.

Načrtovanje in implementacija spletnega portala za oboževalce Taylor Swift : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Diplomsko delo obravnava načrtovanje in implementacijo spletnega portala za oboževalce Taylor Swift t.i. "Swiftije". Glavni cilj projekta je ustvariti interaktivno spletno platformo, ki združuje skupnost oboževalcev in jim omogoča medsebojno povezovanje ter interakcijo. V nalogi so predstavljeni ključni koraki načrtovanja, od izbire ustreznih tehnologij in oblikovanja uporabniškega vmesnika do implementacije varnostnih mehanizmov. Portal je zasnovan z uporabo HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP in MySQL Poseben poudarek pa smo namenili enostavni uporabi, mobilni odzivnosti in podpori uporabniško ustvarjenim vsebinam. Rezultat dela pa je funkcionalen spletni portal, ki oboževalcem ponuja osrednje mesto za sodelovanje v razpravah in deljenje svojih izkušenj kot del skupnosti swiftijev.

Comparing algorithms for predictive data analytics : magistrsko delo

Abstract: The master’s degree thesis is composed of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the basics of predictive data analytics and machine learning algorithms for classification such as Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, SVM, and KNN. We also describe different evaluation metrics such as Recall, Precision, Accuracy, F1 Score, Cohen’s Kappa, Hamming Loss, and Jaccard Index that are used to measure the performance of these algorithms. Additionally, we record the time taken for the training and prediction processes to provide insights into algorithm scalability. The key part master’s thesis is the practical part that compares these algorithms with a self-implemented tool that shows results for different evaluation metrics on seven datasets. Analiza in primerjava sistemov za zaznavanje vdorov : diplomsko delo

Abstract: V diplomskem delu smo preučili in analizirali sisteme za zaznavanje vdorov (IDS) s primerjavo dveh odprtokodnih orodij, Suricata in OSSEC. Proučili smo osnovne koncepte, metodologije in različne vrste tehnologij IDS. S pregledom literature in praktičnih simulacij ocenjujemo, kako učinkovito ti sistemi odkrivajo in kategorizirajo kibernetske grožnje. Naše ugotovitve kažejo, da je sicer vsaka tehnologija učinkovita na določenih področjih, vendar kombinacija sistemov, kot sta Suricata in OSSEC, zagotavlja bolj celovit pregled potencialnih groženj. V raziskavi hkrati ugotavljamo, da je učinkovitost teh sistemov odvisna od ustrezne konfiguracije, namestitve in usposobljenega osebja.

Pregled uporabe relacijskih podatkovnih baz v vsebovalnikih : diplomsko delo

Abstract: V modernem svetu se večina velikih aplikacij izvaja v obsežnih, povezanih sistemih, kjer delujejo v izoliranem in varnem okolju, prilagojenem za optimalen izkoristek razpoložljivih virov. Takšno okolje mora biti zanesljivo za izvajanje kritičnih sistemov. Cilj tega diplomskega dela je raziskati programska paketa Docker in Podman ter primerjati njune funkcionalnosti. Prav tako želimo ugotoviti primerna in neprimerna okolja za njuno uporabo ter pregledati izvajanje relacijskih podatkovnih baz v vsebovalnikih. Ugotovili smo, da sta Docker in Podman učinkoviti orodji za upravljanje z vsebovalniki, ki poenostavita razvojne procese. Prav tako smo pogledali primere dobre ter slabe uporabe vsebovalnikov, pri čemer smo ugotovili, da lahko vsebovalniki predstavljajo zelo primerno okolje za relacijske podatkovne baze v razvoju, vendar nam z uporabo velikih količin podatkov lahko povzroči številne težave

Postopek kreiranja dinamične spletne strani

Abstract: V diplomskem delu smo predstavili osnove, zgodovino ter delovanje interneta, ki so pomembne za izdelavo spletnih strani. Predstavili smo tudi, kaj so DNS-strežniki ter kaj vse potrebujemo, preden se začne proces izdelave spletne strani. Pregledali smo tudi entitetno-relacijski model, ki smo ga uporabili za podatkovno bazo, ki bo podpirala stran ter samo izdelavo podatkovne baze. Prikazali smo tudi uporabo jezikov, kot sta PHP in ASP.NET, za spreminjanje statičnih strani v dinamične, ter primerjali težavnosti ustvarjanja strani s sistemom WordPress.

Pregled orodij za analizo in vizualizacijo performans relacijskih podatkovnih baz

Abstract: Relacijske podatkovne baze in sisteme za upravljanje relacijskih podatkovnih baz (SUPB) je potrebno stalno analizirati in spremljati njihovo delovanje. Želimo si, da bi pravočasno zaznali trende v delovanju podatkovne baze in s tem preprečili počasno in neučinkovito delovanje. Pri tem nam zelo pomaga analiza in vizualizacija performans relacijskih podatkovnih baz. Na trgu obstaja mnogo rešitev, ki so odprtokodne in zaprto kodne. V teoretičnem delu diplomske naloge bomo opisali relacijske podatkovne baze, sisteme za upravljanje relacijskih podatkovnih baz, SQL, značilnosti performans relacijskih podatkovnih baz in predstavili podatkovno bazo ter SUPB-je, ki jih bomo uporabili v praktičnem delu naloge. Prav tako bomo opisali in predstavili analizo performans relacijskih podatkovnih baz ter pomen vizualizacije pri razumevanju analize. V praktičen delu bomo predstavili in primerjali orodja, ki so namenjena analizi in vizualizaciji performans relacijskih podatkovnih baz. Pri pregledu posameznih orodij nas bo zanimala kompatibilnost s podatkovnimi bazami, odprtokodnost oz. zaprto kodnost, funkcije in funkcionalnosti, enostavnost uporabe, vpliv orodja na performans podatkovnih baz, razširljivost, opozorila in obveščanje, podpora in skupnost, prilagoditev, cena, integracija z drugimi orodji ter varnost.

Data breaches in healthcare: security mechanisms for attack mitigation

Abstract: The digitalisation of healthcare has increased the risk of cyberattacks in this sector, targeting sensitive personal information. In this paper, we conduct a systematic review of existing solutions for data breach mitigation in healthcare, analysing 99 research papers. There is a growing trend in research emphasising the security of electronic health records, data storage, access control, and personal health records. The analysis identified the adoption of advanced technologies, including Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence, alongside encryption in developing resilient solutions. These technologies lay the foundations for addressing the prevailing cybersecurity threats, with a particular focus on hacking or malicious attacks, followed by unauthorised access. The research highlights the development of strategies to mitigate data breaches and stresses the importance of technological progress in strengthening data security. The paper outlines future directions, highlighting the need for continuous technological progress and identifying the gaps in the attack mitigations.

Uporaba orodja Apache NiFi za integracijo podatkov v velepodatkovni sistem

Abstract: Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na uporabo orodja Apache NiFi za integracijo podatkov v velepodatkovni sistem, kar izboljšuje operativno učinkovitost in odločanje v podjetjih. V prvem delu je predstavljen teoretični pregled orodja Apache NiFi in njegovih funkcionalnosti, v praktičnem delu pa so implementirani novi podatkovni cevovodi, ki vključujejo prenos in transformacijo podatkov med Microsoft SQL Serverjem in podatkovnim jezerom v novem velepodatkovnem sistemu. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da NiFi učinkovito podpira različne podatkovne formate ter je primeren in prilagodljiv za različne primere uporabe.
