PRIMERJAVA MODELIRANJA POSLOVNIH PROCESOV V RAZLIČNI PROGRAMSKIH OKOLJIH

Abstract: V diplomskem delu smo se osredotočili na zastonjska in plačljiva orodja, ki podpirajo modeliranje v grafični notaciji za modeliranje poslovnih procesov BPMN. Na začetku smo podrobneje predstavili notacijo BPMN in si ogledali razlike med posameznimi različicami. Orodja, ki podpirajo BPMN, smo razdelili v tri skupine: 1) namenska spletna (Signavio Process Editor), 2) namenska namizna (BizAgi Process Modeler) in 3) splošna namizna (Visio 2007). Za vsako skupino smo podrobneje predstavili kandidata, kjer smo ugotavljali njegove prednosti in slabosti. Uporabnost, enostavnost uporabe in učinkovitost predstavnikov skupin smo ugotavljali pri preizkusu, kjer je sodelovalo 129 študentov. Rezultate smo analizirali in ugotovitve praktično uporabili pri vrednotenju variant v odločitvenem modelu, katerega smo izdelali za ugotavljanje najprimernejšega orodja pri skupinskem modeliranju. Na koncu smo povzeli rezultate raziskave in sprejeli oziroma zavrnili hipoteze, postavljene na začetku.

Feasibility and rationale of introducing layers into business process models

Abstract: Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is the leader and de-facto standard in business process modeling, a sub-discipline of business process management. While BPMN's objectives are to be expressive, widely understood, interchangeable and executable, it has also became rich and complex. The objective of this article is to present an idea of lowering the complexity of BPMN by applying layers into BPMN based process models. As presented in the article, layers are the remaining complexity management approach, which has not been implemented in BPMN yet. The focal part of the article is a SWOT analysis of applying layers into business process models, as well as the future work and challenges which need to be solved in order to reach our research goal - increasing the objective and subjective understandability of BPMN based process models.

INTEGRACIJA "GOOGLE APPS" V SISTEM ZA UPRAVLJANJE POSLOVNIH PROCESOV "BONITA STUDIO"

Abstract: V diplomskem delu smo raziskali integracijo Googlovih aplikacij v sistem za upravljanje poslovnih procesov Bonita Studio. Najprej smo opredelili poslovni proces ter predstavili standard BPMN, Bonita Studio in Googlove aplikacije. Potem smo izvedli integracijo Googlovih dokumentov v Bonita Studio in rešitev v nastajanju spremljali skozi življenjski cikel. Faze cikla so modeliranje, simulacija, implementacija, izvajanje, spremljanje in optimizacija. Skozi njih smo prišli do rezultatov, ki smo jih v zaključku analizirali in z nastalimi ugotovitvami potrdili oziroma ovrgli na začetku postavljene hipoteze.

Business process model and notation

Abstract: With business process modelling, companies and organizations can gain explicit control over their processes. Currently, there are many notations in the area of business process modelling, where Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is denoted as the de facto standard. Aims: The aim of this research is to provide the state-of-the-art results addressing the acceptance of BPMN, while also examining the purposes of its usage. Furthermore, the advantages, disadvantages and other interests related to BPMN were also investigated. Method: To achieve these objectives, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and a semantic examination of articles% citations was conducted. Results: After completing SLR, out of a total of 852 articles, 31 were deemed relevant. The majority of the articles analyzed the notation and compared it with other modelling techniques. The remainder evaluated general aspects of the notation, e.g. history and versions of the standard, usage of the notation or tools. Conclusion: Our findings demonstrate that there are empirical insights about the level of BPMN acceptance. They suggest that BPMN is still widely perceived as the de facto standard in the process modelling domain and its usage is ever-increasing. However, many studies report that only a limited set of elements are commonly used and to this end, several extensions were proposed. The main purpose of BPMN remains the description of business processes.

Abstract: Prispevek povzema pogled na izvedbo projekta vzpostavitve prve ponudbe spletnih storitev v Sloveniji za pristop k vzajemnim skladom z uporabo kvalificiranih digitalnih potrdil. Dandanes opredeljuje okvir delovanja informatike v družbi vsekakor tudi njena zmožnost ustvarjanja dodane vrednosti v smislu povečanja konkurenčnosti samih produktov in storitev, ki so na voljo kupcu in konkurenčnosti družbe kot celote. Razvoj e-poslovanja pri ponudbi finančnih storitev v veliki meri usmerjajo tudi spremembe zakonodaje in veljavnih predpisov. Pri načrtovanju novih spletnih storitev in želje po koraku pred konkurenco so lahko skrite tudi priložnosti za prenovo in izboljšanje kakovosti izvajanja notranjih družbinih procesov. Ali lahko izkoristimo moč premika paradigme in pospešimo naravne procese pri uvajanju sprememb v poslovanju?

PRIMERJAVA NOTACIJ BPMN IN EPC NA PRIMERU PROCESA PROIZVODNJE IN PRODAJE V PODJETJU S CELOVITIM INFORMACIJSKIM SISTEMOM SAP

Abstract: V diplomskem delu sta predstavljena procesa proizvodnje in prodaje, njun grafični prikaz in primerjava procesov v notacijah BPMN in EPC. Prav tako vsebuje opise obeh notacij, analizo procesov prodaje in proizvodnje ter analizo diagramov v obeh notacijah. Uporabljene so bile metode komparacije, deskripcije in kompilacije. Kot rezultat diplomskega dela je predstavljena analiza diagramov s pomočjo metrik, ki uporabniku omogočajo lažjo odločitev pri izbiri notacije.

Improving comprehension of process diagrams with Graphical highlights

Abstract: The main purpose of business process diagrams is to facilitate the communication between the process-related stakeholders, which directly affects the decision-making. For this reason, they must be easy to understand. However, this is often challenging to achieve, since business process diagrams can become large and complex. This, in turn, can negatively affect their correctness and understandability. The goal of this doctoral thesis was to propose and investigate an approach that makes business process diagrams appear less complex, without changing the corresponding diagrammatic notation or the business process diagrams themselves. This was done by manipulating the opacity of graphical elements in order to emphasize the important parts of a business process diagram by lowlighting the irrelevant ones. The proposed solution, named Emphasis, implemented with opacity-based Graphical Highlight pattern, abbreviated as simply Graphical highlights, was subsequently applied to sample business process diagram, modeled in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN). The analysis demonstrated that the structural complexity of the business process diagrams decreased when the proposed solution was applied. Afterwards, a Web application prototype was implemented, which supports the proposed set of Graphical highlights. Furthermore, we empirically validated whether Graphical highlights positively impact cognitive effectiveness of business process diagrams, and if the users will find the prototype implementation useful. To this end, an experimental research, which included 85 participants, was conducted. The participants were randomly assigned in either the treatment group (Graphical highlights diagram representation approach), or the control group (conventional diagram representation approach). In accordance with the definition of cognitive effectiveness, speed, ease, and accuracy of answering 26 comprehension questions were observed, along with the perceived usefulness of the prototype. The results of the analysis demonstrated that participants who used Graphical highlights significantly outperformed those that used the conventional approach in all experiment's observations. We can conclude that using Graphical highlights increases the cognitive effectiveness of business process diagrams, while the corresponding prototype implementation is perceived as being useful.
