Inclusive workplace design using mocap technology

Abstract: The integration of workers with disabilities into the labour market is a complex issue that requires an interdisciplinary approach. This study analyses barriers to employment for people with disabilities and highlights the role of ergonomics, modern technologies, and sustainability in creating an inclusive work environment. Through a literature review, surveys, and interviews, we examined the situation in Europe and in Slovenia, with particular attention to technologies such as an inertial motion capture (Mocap) system and Xsens sensor suit for improving workplace design. Although technological advances create opportunities, challenges remain, including low awareness of ergonomics, high implementation costs, and a shortage of qualified personnel. The study offers recommendations such as educational programmes, awareness campaigns, collaborative workshops, and practical solutions using simulation techniques. In particular, the use of motion-capture simulations such as Xsens sensor suit is emphasised as a valuable tool for ergonomic workplace design, enabling precise analysis and optimisation of tasks to better support an inclusive and sustainable work environment.

Računalniška podpora pri optimizaciji razmestitve delovnih mest : magistrsko delo

Abstract: Magistrska naloga zajema tematiko razmeščanja delovnih mest v sklopu oblikovanja proizvodnih sistemov. Izbira ustrezne razmestitve ključno vpliva na stroške transporta in s tem neposredno na proizvodne stroške. Obstoječe metode razmeščanja dajejo ustrezne rezultate, vendar pogosto zahtevajo precej časa. V okviru te magistrske naloge se te metode poskuša nadgraditi z izdelavo računalniške rešitve. Razvije se programska rešitev metode zamenjav, ki temelji na razmeščanju delovnih mest glede na njihov medsebojni pretok. Dobljena programska rešitev omogoča enostavnejšo in hitrejšo pot do optimalne rešitve problema razmestitve delovnih mest.

Optimizacija razmestitve delovnih mest z metodo Craft : magistrsko delo

Abstract: V magistrskem delu je obravnavana problematika učinkovite postavitve delovnih mest v proizvodnem sistemu. Opisani so različni tipi postavitev ter metode načrtovanja. Ciljna metoda magistrskega dela je metoda CRAFT, ki je podrobno predstavljena in na praktičnem primeru izvedena optimizacija postavitve. Pregledane in opisane so tudi ostale metode optimizacije proizvodnje. Na koncu so podane ugotovitve o prednostih in omejitvah metode CRAFT ter o njeni uporabi v praksi.

Vodenja projekta izdelave montažnega ogrodja : diplomsko delo

Abstract: Diplomsko delo obravnava vodenje projektov v industriji montažnih ogrodij s poudarkom na optimizaciji virov, zmanjšanju stroškov in izboljšanju kakovosti izdelkov. Preučene so ključne metode in pristopi projektnega vodenja, analiza proizvodnega procesa jeklenih konstrukcij ter praktični primer vodenja projekta. Na podlagi ugotovitev so podani predlogi za izboljšanje učinkovitosti in zmanjšanje tveganj pri izvedbi podobnih projektov.

Integrating simulation modelling for sustainable, human-centred Industry 5.0: ESG-based evaluation in collaborative workplaces

Abstract: This research explores the role of simulation modelling in the development of human-centred, sustainable manufacturing processes in the context of Industry 5.0. We analyse collaborative workplaces where humans and collaborative robots (CR) work together, emphasizing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. The research work focuses on how personalized CR parameters and optimized work environments contribute to improved productivity, well-being, and sustainability. Through simulations, the paper evaluates the operational efficiency of both manual assembly and human-robot collaborative (HRC) setups, providing insight into the economic, environmental, and social impacts of Industry 5.0 manufacturing systems. The results show significant improvements in sustainability, productivity, and worker well-being achieved through adaptive CR integration and ESG-driven engineering practices.

Evaluation of the EAWS ergonomic analysis on the assembly line: xsens vs. manual expert method—a case study

Abstract: This study investigates the effectiveness of the Xsens motion capture system in performing ergonomic analysis compared to traditional manual assessments by experts in the specific environment of assembly lines. A comprehensive literature review emphasizes the need to investigate the reliability of new, promising high-tech systems. The main objective was therefore to compare the Ergonomic Assessment Worksheet (EAWS) assessment approach performed with Xsens motion capture technology and Process Simulate V16 software with the manual method using EAWS digital prepared by experts in the controlled workflow. The greatest value of the research conducted lies in the novel integration of the state-of-theart Xsens motion capture technology with the Process Simulate V16 software environment and the use of the licensed EAWS ergonomic method and Methods-Time Measurement Universal Analyzing System (MTM-UAS). The results are presented in the form of a case study. The results show a large similarity between the whole-body results and a large difference in the upper limb results, confirming the initial benefits of the Xsens equipment but also pointing to the need to verify its reliability on larger samples. The study highlights the potential of integrating Xsens motion capture data into ergonomic assessments and tuning of the assembly line to increase productivity and worker safety.

Analiza toka vrednosti v proizvodnem procesu podjetja Arcont d.d. : diplomsko delo

Abstract: V podjetju Arcont d. d. sem imel možnost vpogleda v proizvodnjo bivalnih enot, s poudarkom na vodenju po smernicah vitke proizvodnje. Predstavljen mi je bil problem zastojev na proizvodni liniji. V sodelovanju s podjetjem, ki je želelo vpeljati nova orodja vitke proizvodnje v svoje procese, je bila izvedena analiza toka vrednosti na delu proizvodne linije, kjer prihaja do zastojev. Na podlagi analize sem izdelal karto toka informacij in materiala, ki je omogočila boljši vpogled v delovanje procesa ter prispevala k novemu razumevanju vzrokov za zastoje. Na osnovi ugotovitev sem pripravil predlog spremenjenega načina načrtovanja proizvodnje v enem izmed korakov proizvodnega procesa bivalnih enot.

Optimizacija proizvodnje v podjetju BMC Solutions d. o. o. : diplomsko delo

Abstract: V diplomski nalogi je opisana optimizacija proizvodnje z uvajanjem segmentov iz sistema 20 ključev, metode MUDA in aplikacije Trello v podjetju BMC Solutions, d. o. o. S preučevanjem dela z udeležbo in opazovanjem smo določili, kje so glavne pomanjkljivosti v podjetju ter jih umestili v sistem 20 ključev, metodo MUDA in aplikacijo Trello. Po opisu podjetja sledi pregled pomanjkljivosti v podjetju, nato pa podrobnejši opis sistema 20 ključev; kako smo izbrali ključe, ki smo jih izboljšali, ter kako je potekalo samo uvajanje sprememb. Temu sledi opis metode MUDA, izbira izgub, ki jih bomo obravnavali, in uvajanje sprememb ter izboljšav. Nato je na vrsti predstavitev aplikacije Trello in opis, kako smo vzpostavili delovno okolje v aplikaciji in začeli z uporabo. Kot povzetek tega sledi anketni vprašalnik, kjer smo delavce povprašali, kakšno je njihovo mnenje o uvedenih spremembah ter o njihovih predlogih. Vse teme so obravnavane tako teoretično kot praktično. Na tak način smo postavili temelje, na katerih lahko podjetje še naprej gradi in viša svojo konkurenčnost.

Analiza pretočnih časov delovnih nalogov v podjetju KOM d.o.o. : magistrsko delo

Abstract: Tema magistrskega dela je analiza pretočnih časov delovnih nalogov v podjetju KOM d. o. o. V prvem delu je pojasnjen pojem pretočni čas delovnega naloga in delovne operacije, optimizacija pretočnih časov, pristopi za skrajšanje le teh in vloga kratkih pretočnih časov. V nadaljevanju je opisano podjetje, njegove dejavnosti, tehnologija, poslovanje, problematika podjetja in programska oprema, ki jo podjetje uporablja za vodenje. V drugem delu so opisani in analizirani trije delovni nalogi in predlagane rešitve za izboljšanje pretočnih časov obravnavanih delovnih nalogov. Po izvedeni analizi je ugotovljeno, da so procesi učinkoviti, saj je razmerje med pretočnim časom in časom aktivnosti blizu 1.

Efficient modification of the CRAFT algorithm for layout optimisation

Abstract: Every combination of product mix and production volume requires a suitable layout of workplaces (functional units). An optimised layout is of utmost importance to achieve global competitiveness of companies and to build an efficient, sustainable production. We plan the layout mainly with heuristic methods; constructive, improvement and combined methods are available. In this paper, a modification of the established improvement algorithm CRAFT (exchange method) is presented, which provides much better and more accurate results at a slightly higher computational cost. The most important change is the immediate precise determination of the centroids of the areas of workplaces (or departments) that are exchanged. The distance between any two workplaces is represented by the orthogonal distance between the centroids. In the example given, which is based on a pairwise exchange, the difference is 22 % in favour of the modified algorithm.
