Učinkovitost nastavljive šifrirne sheme za izdelavo varnostne kopije aplikacijskih podatkov

Abstract: V primeru izrednih stanj, kot je izguba naprave ali prenehanje delovanja, se za preprečevanje popolne izgube podatkov predlaga izdelava varnostne kopije aplikacijskih podatkov. S tem namenom je bila pripravljena šifrirna shema, ki zagotovi zavarovanje vključenih podatkov, zajetih v varnostni kopiji. Shema temelji na uporabi varnih šifrirnih algoritmov, prav tako je predlagan koncept iterativnega izpeljevanja šifrirnega ključa, ki temelji na dveh ločenih skrivnostih. Pripravljeno shemo smo implementirali v obliki modula s pomočjo programskega jezika Rust. Opravljena je bila izdelava prototipne aplikacije, v katero smo vključili omenjen modul in predstavili uporabno vrednost. V sklopu eksperimentalnega dela smo se osredotočili na primerjavo učinkovitosti postopka izdelave varnostne kopije ob izbiri različnih algoritmov in različnih podatkovnih zbirk. Ugotovili smo, da je najučinkovitejša vključena zgoščevalna metoda Blake2b, najučinkovitejši šifrirni algoritem pa AES256-GCM.

Zbornik konference "Turizem 4.0 in znanost"

Abstract: Pričujoči zbornik vsebuje znanstvene prispevke s konference z naslovom »Turizem 4.0 in znanost«, ki je potekala v virtualnem okolju 17. junija 2021. Prispevke so predstavili raziskovalci, ki so se v času trajanja projekta Turizem 4.0 srečevali s številnimi izzivi na področju digitalizacije v povezavi z zelo kompetitivnim, dinamičnim in globalnim področjem turizma. Rezultati projekta, ki so še na relativno nizkem nivoju tehnološke zrelosti, so izjemni. Najprej v znanstvenem smislu, o čemer pričajo zbrani prispevki v tem zborniku. Pomembno je, da so rezultati vidni in sprejeti tudi v širšem turističnem ekosistemu, ne samo v Sloveniji, temveč tudi širše. Rezultat projekta, »TIM – Tourism Impact Model«, je na Tourism Innovation Summit 2020 prejel nagrado za najboljšo inovacijo na področju umetne inteligence in analitike podatkov, kar tudi v mednarodnem okolju dokazuje pomembnost pobude in projekta Turizem 4.0.

Uporaba intraneta v nacionalnih parkih na Hrvaškem

Abstract: Danes živimo v informacijski dobi, kjer so podatki in informacije velikega pomena in dajejo pomen komunikaciji, ki se spreminja prek računalnikov, mobilnih naprav in aplikacij ter različnih informacijskih sistemov. Pri ustvarjanju in pisanju diplomske naloge se bomo seznanili s še vedno relativno mlado znanostjo - informatiko, ki vse bolj prodira v pore posameznika, na njegovo delovno mesto, v pore organizacij in ima vpliv na splošni družbeni in gospodarski razvoj. Verjamemo, da je pomembno podrobneje spoznati informatiko kot znanost in »Intranet« kot pomembno obliko informacijskega sistema, saj bo naše prihodnje delovno mesto prav gotovo zahtevalo kar nekaj znanja s tega področja. »Intranet« je poslovnemu svetu, tudi turizmu, prinesel poceni način distribucije korporativnih informacij zaposlenim in delno tudi poslovnim partnerjem. Naraščajoča interakcija med informacijsko tehnologijo in turizmom je močno spremenila turistično industrijo. Upravljanje informacij v turističnih podjetjih je še posebej ključnega pomena za njihove uspehe, in podjetja prepoznavajo, da so informacije kot pravi vir postale parameter za uspeh v turističnem poslovanju.

Terorizem in turizem

Abstract: V svetu je varnost danes osrednjega pomena in tudi prednostna tržna niša v turizmu. Eno izmed ključnih groženj mednarodni in nacionalni varnosti v sodobnem svetu predstavlja terorizem. Osrednja tema diplomskega dela je terorizem v povezavi s turizmom. Terorizem predstavlja najtemnejšo plat globalizacije, turizem pa celovitost le-te. Na osnovi tega presojamo, da sta terorizem in turizem znotraj okvirja globalizacije zelo povezana. Spoznanja dela kažejo, da terorizem negativno vpliva na turizem, saj spreminja turistične tokove in aktualnost destinacij. Turistične destinacije so vse bolj obljudene in ravno na podlagi tega postajajo vse pogostejša tarča terorističnih napadov. Terorizem vpliva na psihološko in socialno stanje ter spreminja odnos turistov, povzroča kulturološki stres in negativno vpliva na povpraševanje in turistično ponudbo. S tem negativno vpliva na nadaljnji razvoj turistične destinacije in turizma. V diplomskem delu skozi raziskavo ugotavljamo, kakšen vpliv ima terorizem na turizem in ali terorizem cilja na turizem. Zaradi obsežnosti teme pa je analiza omejena na teroristične napade, ki so se zgodili po silovitem napadu na Združene države Amerike ali bolj znanem 11. septembrom.

Perceived threat of COVID-19 and future travel avoidance

Abstract: The present study provides a snapshot of Slovenian tourists' perceptions in a historically unique point of time - the early days of the covid-19-related lockdown. Based on an online survey performed in March and April 2020 the study provides first insights into Slovenian tourists% perceived threats of covid-19 on two dimensions: severity and susceptibility; how this depends on their demography and past travel experience and what, in this specific point in time, they think about future travel avoidance. The results have shown that age affects the two measured dimensions of perceived threat and future travel avoidance, but only with women. Furthermore, people who have travelled the most in the past express the least likelihood of avoidance to travel due to the covid -19 pandemic. Those who are more educated, on the other hand, perceive higher risk, yet education has no role in their expressed future travel avoidance. The results, moreover, show that the moral obligation towards taking care of others might be a highly important element in the success factor of covid-19 measures and thus future appeals by the tourism industry. Finally, the results show that we cannot easily predict how the general population will behave regarding their future travel avoidance since the opinions are not polarised in the extremes. This does indicate, however, that tourists will be susceptible to the context-specific factors of future travel decisions, such as assurances of health safety provided by the tourism industry.

Analiza zasebnostnih politik v mobilnih aplikacijah

Abstract: V diplomskem delu smo spoznali, kaj so politike zasebnosti, zakaj so pomembne, kaj je GDPR, katere metode berljivosti poznamo. Najpomembnejši del je predstavljalo zbiranje mobilnih aplikacij in nato zapis podatkov iz politik zasebnosti, izračuni po Flesh Kincaid Grade Level, Reading Ease, Automated Readability Index, SMOG, Gunning Fog, Dale Chall in seveda rezultati ter merjenje časov. Ugotovili smo, da so politike zasebnosti dokaj kompleksne, saj po večini zahtevajo nivo branja študentov univerzitetnega študija. Pokazatelj tega so štiri metode berljivosti od šestih. Ena od metod je pokazala, da politike zahtevajo izkušeni nivo branja, druga pa, da je potreben nivo podiplomskega študija.

Effectiveness of proactive password checker based on Markov models

Abstract: In this doctoral dissertation we focus on the most common method of authentication, the username-password combination. The reason for the frequent use of this authentication mechanism is its simplicity and low cost of implementation. Although passwords are so useful, they have many problems. Morris and Thompson, for the first time almost four decades ago, found that textual passwords were a weak security point of information systems. They have come to the conclusion that users are one of the biggest threats to information system’s security. Since then, we face these problems on a daily basis. Users do not perform the behaviours they need to be done in order to stay safe and secure, although they are aware of the security issues. Because this is a research area that security experts have been dealing with for a long time, in this dissertation we wanted to identify problems related to textual passwords and possible suggested solutions. For this purpose, we first performed a systematic literature review on textual passwords and their security. In doing so, we wanted to evaluate the current status of passwords in terms of their strength, ways of managing passwords, and whether users are still the “weakest link”. We found that one of the less researched solutions is proactive password checking. A proactive password checker could filter out the passwords that are easy-to-guess and only let through the passwords that are harder to guess. In order for a proactive password checking to be more effective, it is necessary for the checker to be able to check the probability that a certain password will be selected by the user. For this purpose, the better password checkers usually use certain tools to calculate password probability i.e., password strength. To find out which method is most suitable for calculating password strength, we have looked at similar solutions throughout history. We have found that Markov models are one of the most common methods used for password strength estimation, although we may encounter some problems when using them, such as sparsity and over-fitting. By reviewing similar solutions, we found that Markov models are mostly trained on only one dataset. This could limit the performance of the model in terms of correctly identifying bad or very strong passwords. As training datasets are important in the development of Markov models, it is clear that they will have some effect in the final assessment of the password’s strength. What we explore in our dissertation, is the importance of this effect on the final password strength estimation. Mainly, we focus on exploring the effect of different but similar datasets on password strength estimation. For the purposes of our study, we analysed publicly available sets of “common passwords” and processed them regarding the frequency distribution of the letters contained in these passwords. We built different Markov models based on these datasets and frequency distribution. This helped us determine if one Markov model was sufficient or if several models were needed to effectively estimate password strength for a wide range of passwords. The results showed statistical differences between the models. In more detail, we found that: - different Markov models (trained on different databases) showed statistically different results when tested on the same dataset, - more diverse datasets are needed to be able to calculate the strength of as many passwords as possible, since one “universal” model, trained on one “universal” dataset is less effective at classifying passwords in different categories (i.e., weak, medium, strong), - different Markov models of 1st and 2nd order, in most cases, give no statistically different outputs, - overall, Markov models can be used as a basis for constructing a more effective password checker that uses multiple different and specific Markov models, which could be more effective if we want to cover a wider range of passwords.

Vpliv podnebnih sprememb na smučarski turizem v Alpah

Abstract: Globalno segrevanje povzroča toplejše zime, pospešuje taljenje ledenikov in vpliva na smučarski turizem, ki je v Alpah še vedno najpomembnejša gospodarska dejavnost. Smučanje je že dolgo predvsem velik posel, saj je globalna smučarska industrija ocenjena na od 60 do 70 milijard ameriških dolarjev (Vanat, 2014). Smučišča v Sloveniji in v tujini se lahko proti zelenim zimam, ki so posledica podnebnih sprememb, borijo le z umetnim zasneževanjem. Tega pa si številna smučišča ne morejo privoščiti zaradi visokih stroškov zasneževalne opreme ali pa zaradi pomanjkanja vodnih virov. Segrevanje ozračja celo največja alpska smučišča sili v resen razmislek, kako privabiti in zadržati smučarje. Odgovore na vprašanje, kako podnebne spremembe v resnici vplivajo na smučarski turizem oziroma če sploh, smo iskali v raziskovalnem delu. V njem smo s statistično obdelavo ključnih podatkov, potrebnih za merjenje smučarskega turizma, dobili presenetljive rezultate o temperaturnih trendih v preteklih nekaj desetletjih in številu obratovalnih dni na smučiščih Vogel, Lech in Kronplatz. V nalogi smo se dotaknili tudi umetnega zasneževanja, trajnostnih ukrepov in usmeritev, na katerih bi morali graditi alpski centri.
