Analiza in primerjava storitev dokumentnih podatkovnih shramb v oblaku

Abstract: Namen diplomskega dela je predstaviti računalništvo v oblaku in podrobno raziskati ter analizirati prednosti in morebitne slabosti ne-relacijskih podatkovnih shramb, s posebno pozornostjo na dokumentnem tipu. Končni cilj je analizirati in primerjati dokumentne podatkovne shrambe kot storitve. Cilji diplomskega dela so torej analiza in primerjava oblačnih storitev dokumentnih podatkovnih shramb, izvedba testne implementacije, ki nam bo omogočila to analizo in ugotovitev funkcionalnosti, ki nam takšne shrambe ponujajo.

Primerjava orodij za integracijo podatkov

Abstract: V diplomskem delu je predstavljen proces integracije podatkov. Predstavljeno je, čemu je integracija podatkov namenjena, v katerih procesih in na katere načine se uporablja. Podane so razlike med podatkovnimi bazami in skladišči ter razlike med različnimi orodji, ki podpirajo integracijo podatkov. Na zasnovanem primeru so ob enakih eksperimentalnih pogojih testirane funkcionalnosti in lastnosti posameznega orodja. Na podlagi pridobljenih rezultatov testiranj sta opravljeni analizi funkcionalnosti orodij in razlik poteka integracije med posameznimi orodji. Prav tako je na osnovi testiranja dodatnih funkcionalnosti in pridobljenih ugotovitev opredeljeno, katero orodje je primerno za kakšen tip uporabnika.

A Comparison of Traditional and Modern Data Warehouse Architectures

Abstract: Data has never been as desired or valued as it is today. The value of data and information over the past decade has not only changed trends in business and the IT industry but has also changed the dynamic of work. Enormous amounts of aggregate data offer companies and other corporations the option to explore and study data samples. Data collection and information processing are new dynamic factors, not only for individuals but also for corporations. Companies and corporations who are able to process large amounts of data in the shortest possible time can place themselves in a leading position in certain professions. In this bachelor’s thesis we will describe the basic concepts and factors that have shaped new, cloud-based data warehouse technologies. At the same time, we also emphasize why and how these technologies are used. We focus on how the changing technology influenced the users and their consumption of data, the changing dynamics of work as well as the changes of data itself. In the practical part, we created two DWH environments (on-premises and cloud) that we compare with each other. In the experiment, we underlined the fact that CDWHs are in certain situations not always faster than TDWH.

Analiza postopka migracije podatkovne baze Oracle v IBM DB2

Abstract: Podatkovne baze so povsod prisotne v naših življenjih. Pogosto se pojavi potreba po uporabi več različnih podatkovnih baz. Obstajajo različni razlogi za uporabo drugačnega okolja, zato prihaja do potrebe po migraciji podatkovne baze iz enega okolja v drugo. Namen diplomskega dela je analiza postopka migracije podatkovne baze iz okolja Oracle v okolje DB2. V diplomskem delu smo opredelili različne tipe podatkovnih baz, opisali sisteme za upravljanje podatkovnih baz Oracle in DB2, pripravili testno podatkovno bazo v okolju Oracle in z obstoječimi orodji izvedli migracijo podatkovne baze v okolje DB2. V delu smo opredelili izzive, ki se pojavijo med migracijo in ponudili rešitve. Migracijo je možno uspešno izvesti, saj podatkovna baza DB2 podpira vse funkcionalnosti, ki jih omogoča okolje Oracle.

Samodejna analiza dnevnika transakcij za identifikacijo možnosti optimizacije relacijskega podatkovnega modela

Abstract: Magistrska naloga predstavlja zasnovo in implementacijo orodja Revertium, ki uporabniku pomaga pri identifikaciji možnosti optimizacije relacijskega podatkovnega modela na podlagi analize dnevnika transakcij obstoječe relacijske podatkovne baze. Raziskali smo relacijski podatkovni model in določene slabosti relacijskih podatkovnih baz ter na podlagi pridobljenega znanja definirali možnosti optimizacije le-teh. Za namen doseganja prej omenjenega smo raziskali povratni inženiring relacijskih podatkovnih baz in določene optimizacijske tehnike, kot sta indeksiranje in denormalizacija. Na podlagi ugotovljenega smo združili vso znanje v celoto – orodje Revertium, ki je rezultat magistrskega dela.

ACQUIRING TEMPORAL KNOWLEDGE FOR MAKING DECISIONS IN MEDICAL PROCESSES

Abstract: A medical process is a set of medical actions performed by healthcare professionals while making observations about signs and symptoms, ordering interventions, prescriptions, tests, and any other actions in order to solve a health problem that is affecting a particular patient. The objective is to offer a curative, chronic, palliative and/or symptomatic treatments. The capability of a physician to propose an appropriate treatment depends on his/her knowledge of similar clinical cases and by following advances in the treatment of particular diseases. Time is an important concept of the real world that has to be considered in regard to medical processes. Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) are a narrative set of recommendations for treating patients suffering from a particular disease. By constantly referring to CPGs physicians can stay up to date with the best evidence-based medical care and with the recommendations of experts. The time dimension is, however, often omitted or only partially covered in CPGs. Some CPGs do contain certain recommendations considering time but often there are huge gaps that are supposed to be overcome by physicians’ own knowledge and experience. At the same time, healthcare centres hold healthcare records and information systems that register medical processes and patients data, including information about the times of any encounters, prescriptions, and other medical actions. Therefore healthcare records and information systems data can be a source for detecting temporal medical knowledge and sound evidence regarding healthcare. This thesis is centred on temporal knowledge acquisition and representation for the purposes of decision-making during medical processes. CPGs were analysed to obtain procedural knowledge models and Extended Timed Transition Diagrams defined for representations of the obtained knowledge. The data about the treatments of patients were analysed in order to detect temporal medical knowledge models that represented those medical procedures that were carried out while the data was being generated. These models thus provided an explicit representation of the time dimensions of past medical procedures. They could be used for complementing the knowledge provided by CPGs, for studying adherences to the CPGs and for representing a basic framework for medical procedural decision support systems development.
